El Parc del Clot is one of many urban Barcelona parks that I'd heard a lot about but had never visited before. Surrounded by old factory walls it is set in the heart of what was the industrial motor of Catalonia and Spain in the 19th century when Sant Martí was known as the 'Manchester of the Mediterranean'. Today it's a lovely space with recreational facilities for young (football, basketball and table tennis) and old (petanca).
