When I visited the fantastic country of Peru, I got so inspired by the amazing culture, people and cuisine. I picked up this Peruvian steamed mussels recipe, and that's why I came to the beautiful village of Yerseke in the South of The Netherlands, where they grow the most amazing "Zeeuwse" mussels! Juicy mussels, topped with a zingy, fresh Peruvian "salsa criolla".. This dish just screams for sharing! Enjoy!

wow that's some amazing colors keep up the good work.
Interesting recipe, the mussels look great with the salsa.Looks like quite a busy harbour behind you and an interesting place to look into. You're quite light on your feet there Bart, ever thought of putting yourself forward for Strictly Come Dancing. Great video Bart, Thank You.
In Peru lunch is the big meal of the day. Some of my favorite memories visiting Peru were to come back from the beach in the afternoon and having this appetizer to start a big delicious meal. Thanks for sharing the recipe, I wish I could find rocoto and the larger kernel white corn to have it authentic every time.

I could not get my hands on the white corn too, but this was equally delicious.. I'm glad my video reminds you of some great memories. Thank you for watching Javier.

Thank you so much Bart for all your Fishy Fridays! Now I eat fish almost every day of the week and its so delicious thanks to all your recipes. A month ago I couldn't even imagine my boyfriend would eat any other fish than cod, and now we trip around our town to find and taste all the fish that you use ;). Greetings from Poland! #cantwaitforfriday

Beautiful dish.
Another great episode! Need to give this a try this weekend.
Wow looks stunning Bart!
thanks for this creative cruch delicious recipe
Brilliant, as usual. Very tasty looking.
Gorgeous video
Great recipe. Consider some aji amarillo chili or paste instead of that chili. Peruvians love Aji amarillo. Its native to peru/south america also!
Excellent starter dish :D
Great looking Mussels Bart! :)
I have recently decided to incorporate more seafood into my diet and your channel is a treasure!👌Subscribed! 😀 P.S.: Could you please make another video on pickled herring?
You can use the half shell to loosen the mussel instead of using your fingers
Love the view... nd what can I say about the dish? It makes my mouth watery...
Couldn't tell they were mussels from the thumbnail.
Looks delicious but.... Does seaweed sterilize shells? Should I place my mussel shells in rock salt before serving? Is this a necessary step after they've been steamed?

Hi! That's not the case, I used the seaweed to stabilise my mussels on my plate, but you can also use rock salt! Of course, if you can balance your mussels without them toppling over, there is no need to use the salt or seaweed.

LOL - thought you said sterilize not stabilize!
Getting used to the camera now Bart! They looked great and I'm not really even a fan of seafood.
