PERU | 4x4 TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY
Peru's name is derived from Quechua, meaning Land of Abundance. Without a doubt, Peru would be one of the most diverse countries we would ever visit. Traveling this country in an off road camper would allow us to explore remote desert peninsulas with long sandy beaches, before cutting inland to explore snow capped mountains and glaciers situated at over 20,000 feet in elevation. This would only be a prelude to visiting the famous hidden Inca city, Machu Picchu, tucked into the mountains on the edge of the Amazon rainforest.
Peru is the 3rd biggest country in South America, with nearly endless wild camping opportunities, it often becomes an instant favourite destination for international overlanders. As a bonus, Peru is famous for its cuisine, we would spend over a month enjoying ceviches and fried fish along the coast as well as Lomo Saltado and Aji de Gallina among other dishes further in the mountains.
Ultimately, our attempt at documenting our experiences traveling through this incredible country would be thwarted when our truck would be broken into in the city of Cusco, resulting in the loss of two cameras (which contained SD cards with footage that had not yet been backed up) and a laptop, as well as multiple bags of clothing. Our friends in the white truck that we had run into multiple times would also have their rear window smashed and things stolen just days before us, in another part of the country.
Of course, these are the risks of living the van life and having everything you own in a car.

Thanks for all the support everyone! We still have two more videos coming to end off the trip. We're also working on a new plan and intend to keep making videos and traveling in a bit of a different way.
The best travel vlog on KZread. I’m saddened that your trip has ended, especially the way it did.
So happy to see a video from you again was missing you guys and praying nothing physical happened to you … great to hear all are well but life and thieves are everywhere and honestly I’m shocked this hasn’t happened already … absolutely stunning landscape videos praying you stay safe and blessed!!!

I like how you present!
I'm so sad that a thief is depriving us of such a wonderful young people and their trip. Please don't be discouraged. Things can be replaced. Memories can't. I would gladly contribute for you to replace those stolen items. Please continue your journey. Such a delight to see the wonderful places you visit.

Thanks Arturo, the theft didn't deter us from continuing our trip. It was what happened after. Thanks for your offer, but we're okay. We ended our drive through the americas but will continue traveling and creating content in other places :)
Amazing footage. This country is beautiful! So sorry about your ordeal
📣 WOOOW! Very good video! Thanks for this! 👋🏼 I am a Small Struggling Travel Channel and this video really inspire me to up my self and make better content ☺️
So sad you were robbed, you make the best videos . With your talent I know you’ll be back, you can’t deprive us of your exceptional videos!
First time watching you guys on KZread, the incredible footage and story telling are compelling, but found out on the comment section that you got your belongings stolen. So sorry for your loss, I watch alot of 4x4 overlanding and motorcycling touring accross the world on KZread, and this is the first time I got reminded that criminals are exist on an overland expedition. Greetings from Indonesia 🇮🇩
One of the most genuine and funniest guys I know, you’re killing it bro. Love from Toronto 👊 - amit

I love watching your adventure. I know it must get lonely and hard sometimes, but this is something you'll remember forever. Plus your videos will inspire people for the rest of time. Im very impressed by the quality of your shots and your editing skills. I look forward to watching the rest of your journey. ps, sorry about getting robbed, that sucks.

Thanks a lot man! I'm always working on new techniques in for editing and shooting so I hope the next video will be much better. But you're right, it actually can be a pretty tough way to live, even though it's a huge privilege. The videos have a great duality for us, in that they serve to inspire but are also a way for us to look back and remember our experiences.
Beautiful video! I am sorry to hear about the robbery.
omg we were waiting for you to come to Chile 😢
I can’t believe this happening in California too I got my car broken into n San Francisco ca they broke all my windows and took everything inside my car crazy days we living 🙏🙏🙏

as usual, top notch. looking forward for more of your story. i also had a break in into a rental Pajero on a trip in Spain... it's so frustrating. When traveling abroad we used to carry all the expensive / important stuff with us when we could. it saved us back then.

We try to keep what we can on us too, though we also met people who just got robbed walking as well. Shit happens, part of traveling unfortunately.
Nice to see you travel with the puppy. Sorry you have to face robbery 😢

Sorry to hear of some of your troubles. Every day in our van I remind myself of the churchillian quotation: when in hell keep going. I’ll try and remember it when our van gets broken into. Cheers from Cali Colombia.
Super bummer on the stolen gear. I think this was the best video yet. How were you accommodating a third person? Ground tent or sleeping in the rig? I wait eagerly for the next video. Keep it up!

Thanks man! Yeah we just had our ground tent out for those 2 weeks.
Buen día saludos cordiales desde huanuco perú seria bueno que lo traduzcas al español .gracias 😊
Agreed - We really like boon docking - But every once in a while we pay for a camp site. When the stars line up or sometimes just because the vibe is right! (& that is so cool) Sad about the break in & early departure. So you back in the Peg?
A place I have wanted to visit. Sadly there and Nepal crime winds up being a common experience. My overland trip may be north into Canada and Alaska.
Amazing episode. Out of curiosity, how come a right hand drive LC?

Used to be cheaper to buy JDM imports in Canada, also only way to get a diesel 70 series at a reasonable price!
Que notícia triste esta do assalto. Fiquei chateado. Sou do Brasil e nas minhas viagens pela Argentina, Bolívia e Chile não deixávamos o carro estacionado sozinho, nem no supermercado (muito chato). Encerrará a viagem antes? Tente não desanimar. Se puder mande a localização daquela estrada verde e rosa. Obrigado e Boa Sorte.
Another great video! Sorry to hear about the theft…Geez. I will be doing about the same route Lima-Paracas-Nazca-Cusco. Any tips on what route to take from Nazca to Cusco versus the shortest one? Thx.

Depends what you're driving! We took the Highway 100 from Abancay because of a bridge closure, but that's like a 17 hour detour. We drove through huge waterfalls and landslides and needed 4x4 to make it. But in the dry season I think it's just a road. It had the most insane views we had ever seen, but there's no information on it anywhere at all.

Gotcha….I was looking at it. I am driving a Rubicon, so no issues on bad roads. I was looking into doing the Tunnels of Carcaterra, off Abancay. Those look incredible as well. If I take 100, I will have to go to Abancay, do the tunnels and back track some….but based on what you are saying, it will be worth it. Thanks for the info!
amazing content, keeps getting better! how do you make money to support your travels?

It's with so much sadness to see my country flooded in garbage, the northern part of Perú is just an eyesore landfill land, nobody cares about cleanliness there, what a difference side with the southern part.To top it off, thieves made your trip a miserable one. Just an advise, tourists with fancy stuff, make an easy prey for robbers. Don't make of yourself a foul and think you are immune, they know you bring dollar and expensive electronics, so always keep an eye of your belongings
The Amazon River in Perú, is just as dirty. People just throw their plastic rubbish into the water. While in Brazil they have to constantly clean after the Peruvians...their rubbish just keeps arriving 😮
