Glad you're still uploading this series. You have been a large part in inspiring me to take up drawing.
Been drawing all my life and I've literally just chanced and guessed so much of this stuff until now. Big up Dan Beardshaw for showing us how it's really done!
This makes So much Sense and it really open My eyes 👀 like literally I used to be scare of perspective but now I have the courage
Is it just me or does his time lapse of him drawing and constructing something is really satisfying
Your technical wizardry and drawing skills are amazing. Great video thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you, definitely will be useful for drawing spiral/curved staircases.
I'm following the drawabox course which teaches you how to free hand ellipses, and they use some of the same techniques as here. You definitely go deeper into this though 👍

Got another episode on dividing ellipses coming, although it can sometimes seem overly complex. it’s actually pretty straightforward once it all starts to come together

@@DanBeardshaw Nice, I'm looking forward to it 👍
You are BOSS! Thanks for making another splendid video.
Love this series
Please forgive me if I'm incorrect, but I had a question regarding this. My understanding from art school was that the major axis(and subsequently, the intersection point of the minor axis) of an ellipse created when foreshortening a perfect circle would also be distorted by perspective, and thus be brought forward in 1 point perspective when compared to the actual diameter of the circle. And that in perspective, the ellipse would appear to maintain a 1:1 ratio when the radiuses(radii?) of the major-minor axis intersection to the edge of the minor axis was measured with a ruler. It's totally possible that this may only be an art thing and unrelated to CAD/architecture, or that I'm totally off base to begin with. 😅 Regardless, thanks for the upload!

Oops! the edge of the minor axis WHEN* 😅
Nice job. Makes it seems much easier.
Another inspiring tutorial thanks
Thank you nicely done and very helpful.
Me encantan estos vídeos saludos desde Colombia
Wow thank you so much! Very helpfull!
Keep this series going
love from india🇮🇳
Canal MT bom pra quem q aprender
Thanks master appreciate it.
Very very good vídeo!!!!
Thanks so much!,!
love from Iraq 🇮🇶 ❤
You are the best
Sir,pls make a video series about " comic book drawing"which explains about basic things like drawing head ,body, action posture etc. pls make it

I’m gonna to cover drawing figures eventually, Perspective is a great starting point before progressing into that
1:54 - - I have been looking high and low for the formula to construct a perfect square in one point as you have here. Am I missing something?

@@VirtualSG omg how I have the same problem lol
Hello Dan, I started drawing couple of months ago and already improved alot ( thanks to your videos). I started drawing people with different gestures, but my problem is, my drawings always look too flat like not 3d. more like contour drawing than gesture. will you make a video, where you explain, how to add form into the drawing, if not could you tell me sources where to learn it? Keep up the good work.
May fall of death ears but whoever reads this and knows: how do you do the mechanical way of drawing a perfect square in any perspective and also any plane, as in perfect square inclines and such.
Wow🤩
Hi Dan, thank you for your video very instructiva BUT! Elipses in 2 point perspective cannot be constructed with the long axis completely verical. The long axis , when correctly drawn will be represented on the bidimensional plane , 90 degrees, perpendicular to the short axis which stretches all the way to the vanishing point. Thanks and good luck!
Great video Dan, seriously thanks!
Hi Dan, thanks for the video! I have a question about the minor axes of the ellipses. When you drew the minor axes for the ellipses inside of squares, were you roughly visualizing where the other vanishing point was, or is there a method you used to accurately determine where the minor axis should point without needing to draw the other vanishing point?

The minor axis should point to the vanishing point which means the ellipse should be tilted one side or the other wether it is located above or below the horizon line.
❤❤
Hmmm i am wonder. which pencil is better 6B or HB?
great tutorials. My only suggestion would be they were slower paced to be easier to follow. Cheers mate
Great tutorials man, you sound like your about to fall asleep any second now.
Hello I got a kuru because of you
How to draw a door open?
Great work but 2 things are wrong in this video. At 1:30 the circumference doesn’t go through the corners of the shaded squares. Second one is that circles in perspective shouldn’t be ellipses. Ellipses are symmetrical in the x and y axes but there is foreshortening in drawings.
Your ellipses look more circular than mine Mine are more flattened.
But you are not using the minor axis, i think that ellipses in the cylinder should be a little tilted following the minor and mayor axis.
