@@Simmie119 Well I mean there no proof saying other wise. The only hint we have is an easter egg about Rise. (And that Yukari is still featherman Pink.) Saying the Risette is at peak sexual appeal for an idol. There's even a poster what assumeably her in Persona 5. You can even get this poster put in your room, Ann (who coincidently is The Lovers arcana of that game) can give it to you. She's 15-16 durning the events of Persona 4 which is 2011. In Japan on average most female idols peak around the age of 25 and only go down after that. (Sad but true, the idol industry is brutal in Japan) If Persona 5 takes place in 2020 that would make it 9 years after P4, with Rise being 24. So it fits. According to the wiki she's 21 durning Persona 5, so that makes it around 2016, which seems to be the most popular theory of when the game takes place.

@@scarletrose8766 He's the first player you recruit, so only the protagonist and Teddie see him get his Persona. I'd really recommend you watch a playthrough of Persona 4 (I might even suggest Persona 4 Golden because that one is canon) because its my personal favorite of the Persona series! The animation is also hilarious if you can find a way to watch it.

The goal of the PT isn't unsimilar to the Investigation Team's and the IT are Neutral Good (TV Tropes words not mine), compared to other uses of the collective unconscious what the Thieves do is good, just with slightly dubious methods.

the p4 cast is from 2011, the p5 cast weren't even in high school by then. pq and pq2 take the casts from each game from the time they were still using personas (because they basically lose the ability to use them after the dark hour, tv world and mementos no longer exist)

@Snowfreezee_ So can the Investigation Team and Phantom Thieves. The IT do it in P4A and PT basically state at the end of the game that the PT are still taking requests. In all of their cases though, it's implied that it's a monumentally more difficult thing to do, Personas already tire them out for the rest of the day in those alternate realities, but when it's irl they not only have to learn to do it all over again, but it's more tiring.

@@infinitezion2029 The P4 kids hide their weapons in their uniforms before they get into the TV in the shopping mall two of them works at. They go to blacksmith and pay him to make more weapons. The main character starts with an antique sword and those things can still cut something. And then we get to Naoto: She's a real police detective. She actually has a real gun, starting with a police issued revolver. The P5 kids' weapons are all toy models. They bought all of their weapons from an shady model shop. Maybe it's not too obvious with the melee weapons, but they're fake too. The most telling is that Akechi's are too obvious: a laser sword popular among kids and a ray gun popular among kids. . . . .and he's popular among kids. lol xD

SOMERANDOMPERSON. NPC Persona 5 Protagonist took out Yaldaboath with one shot and Yaldaboath took over the entire velvet room splitting one of the attendants into two separate beings and sealed away Igor. I don’t know if you know but thats really impressive since until P5 Igor was untouchable by most Big bads. not saying P5 is strongest that goes to Makoto from P3 but Joker is definitely not the weakest.

Two protagonists fighting how rare is that

I just wanna stop and take in the exposition before yu showed. He was moving st incredibly high speeds and managed to match and effortlessly parry joker every time he pointed his gun at him because his waifu was in danger. That's some serious commitment right there.

I'm happy about this meeting. We got most of the Thieves fanboying and fangirling over celebs in their time, especially Akechi fanboying over Naoto and I'm pretty sure Futaba might overheat from knowing that a famous celeb like Rise is also a Persona User and a Navigator like her. The best part is Kuma/Teddie being threatened with a Megidolaon (de gozaimasu) by Elizabeth almost immediately when he tries to flirt with her. and we got the Sass Master and the Gigolo squaring off at the start with their weapons, and their wits in the lobby.

Gyeh, the in-game excuse for not talking about the future is the potential Time Paradox...But, the Theatre is a weird damn place where time and space have no actual meaning. It's just like EVERY OTHER mysterious realm, like the TV World, Metaverse, and Dark Hour. The Theatre just so happens to be more interconnected so it can bring in the various Persona users. Hell, the whole reason they are so young in this could very well be because it was when they were the most involved with the Collective Subconscious.

Well, Minako is only a fan name, while Kotone is an official name, so there is that. Still, it's such a popular fan name people have begun to think it is official. Though I also hear it's mostly the Western fanbase that likes that name, with Japan preferring "Hamuko Arisato" instead.

That's how they did it with the dub. Even though honorifics stayed intact, they used the first names instead cause that's how the west works. And yeah, just admit it's 2016 damnit.

Though I know "Intellegent looking boy" was being formal by using both honorifics and surnames. **insert mental auto-correct** I heard P5 had to gloss over its in-game year because it was released in the same year as the in-game year (in JP) while the other Persona games took place 2 years after their release. Fans somehow matched the in-game calendar with IRL 2016's calendar. But Atlus can't exactly forward the in-game year (coz the dates would be screwed) so they made it 201X. **Why you do this.** **Insert outdated Winter 2014 meme**

I think partially the reason why Atlus decided to obscure the in-game year was due to legal reasons. The game explores a variety of social and cultural systemic problems that affect various institutions. Corruption, bribery, embellishment, false accusations, governmental abuse, etc. And these topics weren't chosen randomly, Japan at the time (and most likely still) suffers from all of this, including the 90%+ prosecution rate. From what I've heard, to cover themselves from legal action by the government and other organizations, the game was set in an "alternate" Japan where Persona powers exist, in an undisclosed year that just so happens to line up with the year 2016. This is useful for falling back on the cover that the game isn't necessarily talking about real life Japanese society. If this is true, can you blame Atlus for giving themselves a safeguard?

Sadly this game was made for 3ds which I believe altus just didn't want to spend resources on since it's been eclipsed by the switch

She doesn't even know about Yasogami high before (thought it was called Yasoinaba). Yukiko didn't say anything about Inaba here. Yukiko doesn't know cause the Yukiko Minako met isn't the same as the Yukiko here (different timelines)
