Well, the protagonists can obviously talk when they summon a persona lol... Or when they are attacking. But not when they are conversing with their friends outside of it in the main games lol? 🙄 Don't know 'bout spinoffs tho.

@@Evil_Beauty So? Thats just 30 mins in the studio for their VA's and they dont get paid for their status as the VA's for the Persona main characters (royalties). The reason why the spin offs let the MC's talk is because atlus didnt want them to be left out and to provide them canon identities and characteristics since theyre nothibg but a self insert character in the main series

In mitsuru social link her life was almost turned completely upside down if she had married the corporate guy but because Minato stopped her from doing it her life was saved not just by him sacrificing himself to beat nyx that's how I understood it

Persona 3 is supposed to be about overcoming death, but I still can't get over Minato's soul becoming a door.

The ending for door-kun literally contradict the whole point of accepting death and moving on. Now door-kun's soul can't ever find peace is forever going to be the most ironic about P3 lol! 😂 And I bet, even if the world ended, and every living thing is dead, door-kun will only be the one who can't move on because he's stuck being a door for all eternity. 😆

I like how they've accepted their loss and have gone forward with newfound resolve, which is what he wanted. The Answer may have sucked, but I like where the characters ended up going forward. Man, was that some forced conflict in The Answer, though.

@@Infinitywolf23 yeah, with only Yukari and toaster bot being the ONLY ones who actually showed more signs of care than the rest of the others. 🙄 Yukari would literally go thru the Fall and fight nyx all over again just to see door-kun (aka the player YOU). And toaster bot, well... not as intense as Yukari, but at least she wanted to stop living as a "human", now that her purpose for living was gone. The rest just felt like they didn't care much about the protagonist other than being indebted to him...

​@@Evil_BeautyI don't see what you mean. The others did care, they just didn't throw a toxic fit or disassociate like Yukari and Aigis did respectively. (That's not an insult to them, those are both very common when dealing with loss) Mitsuru even sided with Takeba on trying to go back and save him. Junpei and Aki were conflicted, but ultimately they felt like trying to change his fate would've dishonored his memory. Remember, this is not the first time any one of the party members (except fuuka lol) has dealt with loss in this game. That was kind of the point, actually. The entire game was about them losing people they loved and finding how to move forward. It sort of wouldn't make sense that after all of that self-actualization, they acted immaturely and couldn't handle his passing, seeing as they went through the phase of not knowing how to deal with death already.

To which, the vibe I'm getting after the aftermath of FES, is that everyone seems to go about their daily lives without once paying homage to door-jesus. And they never will. Mitsuru, Akihiko, Junpei, Fuuka, Ken, Koromaru, Aigis, and Yukari-especially the latter two-they all loved Minato so much. I’m sure he’s happy-watching over them from the Great Seal-with how they are living their lives to the fullest, and looking ahead to the future.

@@hwanniggles187 it actually wasn't. P5 Hero and their Persona Mephistopheles were intended to be the actual Persona 5 protagonist as we know him. Sure it was during the transition stage, when they were switching from the backpack story to the unwanted banding together story, but it lines up with the beta/alpha info we have with P5 proper

Well Makoto's harem is canon and there are multiple proofs to it, for examples - Chihiro is in P4 and she's no longer afraid of men - Fuuka is into electronic engineering (during Arena/Arena Ultimax) - How both Yukari and Aigis felt about Makoto during the answer (which is canon) - Mitsuru would be married to her ahole fiance or she would've used her motorcycle to ride away - Elizabeth is trying to free Makoto (they obviously had something, i mean they banged and stuff) Also, all social links are canon even the forced romances with all female social links (not Maiko, Mitsuko), (Toriumi? unknown)

The saddest part of Makotos death wasn’t that he died, but that Mitsuru doesn’t get her happy ending with him. Like she really says “I need you in my life” and then he dies not even 12 hours later

It wouldn't be the same without Minato

I'm starting to think that all other persona games released after P3 is because of the MC lol But ngl tho, it would be awesome if they're gonna follow p3's storyline for every other persona games they plan to release. Yes? If P3 MC hadn't made the sacrifice to stop the Fall, the world would've ended. The continuity is mostly in the backgruond when it's not a direct crossover like the Arena games, but yes the games happened because P3 MC let the world continue (and thus, the Sea of Souls also continued, spawning the things the other protagonists eventually come to fight)

Correction: field leader. Makoto was never leader. Mitsuru was and still is even now. Makoto was field leader. He led them in combat, but not the actual group themselves.

@@Infinitywolf23 Mitsuru may have more experience but Yu has quite a bit experience as well since he fought actual gods. Plus has the wild card( in the game he only uses Izangi so you could say he wasn’t at his full power). Also has overall more skill and strength than Mitsuru, I’m pretty sure controlling the enormous power of the wild card to will is a feat that no one except velvet room attendants can do. But of course plot says another wise.

Kyoko Uchiha Mitsuru fought gods too. I also think Yu has a sense of honour, he would rely fighting on equal ground, not cheaply exploiting a weakness. If he did, it wouldn't prove anything

Yu’s voice sounded familiar to me and I realized it’s the same voice actor for ichigo from bleach

would be really cool if in the next persona battle game we actually get Minato, maybe like a dlc and that doesn't have to do anything with the main story because..you know

I like to imagine his power in action without him, you know, being dead. He narratively *had* to die with that much power, otherwise it would make any problem in the Persona universe trivial. It would be an Avengers problem where the question would always be "where's Door-kun?" Even though he wouldn't be called that, but whatever.

Raydnt he doesn't do fusion himself, he can do Fusion Spells, but it's not the same as Persona Fusion, which Yu has been shown/implied to be able to do with assistance.

Conditions: Max all social links, be level 99, save Chidori, defeat Elizabeth, the Reaper, and Nyx. :High school rooftop: Narrator: Chidori suddenly walks over as the group surrounds Yuki who has just seemingly closed his eyes sitting with Aegis. Junpei: Chidori!? Chidori: Hello, Junpei-san. I remember you all now, I remember all of you, I remember everything that happened again! Yukari: Why's she here? Chidori: I showed up for a reason. There's something Takaya told me while I was still a part of Strega. He said there was no way to defeat Nyx to you all. That was a lie. There is one way you could defeat Nyx. That is through the great seal. Essentially, your leader here has sealed away Nyx, Nyx cannot be killed. That is why Takaya and Jin tried to stop you from reaching the top of Tartarus, they didn't want him to be able to stop Nyx even though the chance was 1 in a million. In order for the great seal to be effective, he had to sacrifice himself to become a door to hold back Nyx from the world. Ever since Junpei has come into my life, I've feared death. Your leader didn't fear it, which is why this was the only way he thought he could take to save the world. There's still time to save him, he's in a coma like state right now. He is not actually dead yet. He will be soon however if I don't heal him. Don't worry Junpei, this will not kill me, it will make me very tired, but since he's still alive and here, you won't have to worry. Narrator: Everyone is astonished at what they've just heard. Yukari: Ugh, he is so gonna get it once you bring him fully back here. Fuuka: I sense his life is fading away. She's telling the truth. Let her heal him. But I'm here now, and I'm going to senior year with Aegis, Yukari, Junpei, and Fuuka. I used up all of my power to protect all of you. It is a miracle I'm here, let us keep these as we move on with our lives. No matter if we're separated our bonds of friendship will remain forever. Speaking of Yukari, where is she? Fuuka: Oh, she's on her way from cram school, she didn't want to miss this. Mitsuru: Good, she's on her way. Makoto (Me): I'm thankful to Chidori for reviving me, not because I was afraid of dying, but because I had grown to be afraid of what you all would do after I was gone, what do you think you all would be doing if I wasn't revived? It would probably change the course of P4 arena as by this point he'd have even more experience being a persona user and could change the tide of the game. I picked up P5R and played it in a week and 2 days so I haven’t been able to play the other games. I got spoiled for P3 so I want to know WHY you call him door-kun in the most morbidly way possible since he’s a seal. Maybe it was a gag before the seal but my god you must not like door 😭

Late, but does this mean romancing Mitsuru is cannon?

Something i want to say, because people misunderstand Mitsuru and her context behind her words. For anyone who has watched The Anime, seen The Manga, played through The Answer, even P3FES/Reload would know that she never once has shown romantic feelings towards Makoto, and he didn't either. Plus the only actual SL that isn't shown at all in The Manga and Anime is Mitsuru's. (Atlus is all about MakotoXAigisXYukari anyways). In The Anime and Manga he didn't interact with her at all except for when they were on Missions or that one time during Summer Vacation at her home, when he was burying Akihiko in the sand (Also, she's always been mature about her feelings. But when she's thinking of something or someone she loves, discussing an embarrassing topic, or caught off guard, she gets flustered or blushes. She's not showing that here. Plus wouldn't she grow feelings for Narukami since he reminds her SO much of Makoto too? Shs doesnt voice her emotions, but shes expressive. If she likes something, someone, is embarrassed, sad, or mad. It'll be written all over her face.) During the time her father died, he withdrew into himself. He began to grow distant (around the time you can do her SL). He didn't care to comfort Mitsuru. Makoto's character has never been the type to openly seek people out with their troubles, they come to him. Mitsuru has only opened to Yukari because Yukari was worried about her, and is more outgoing. Mitsuru has only ever opened up to Yukari in the official Canon. Yukari helped Mitsuru find her resolve, not Makoto. It is believed that Mitsuru either cut ties with her Fiancé on her own, due to her reflecting on her fathers words, or Yukari helped talk with her, and helped her realize sooner. (Although in this game, Naoto talks about how she didn't take over her Fathers Company aka The Kirijo Group. Which says that she ended up running away to begin her own journey, meaning her SL aka Makoto's involvement, is non-canon, but the events in her life are there. As said in her SL, without Makoto's involvement she asked herself if she would have ran away from the strict jaws of her group to do what she wanted, or give into the arranged marriage. Which shown in this game, she ran. She began her own journey and made her own Group the Shadow Operatives. She also talks about her father when Naoto points out that shes talking to someone thats not there. The topic was about the Kirijo Group and her families past, and the only person she made a personal promise to in P3, was her father, not Makoto. Wouldn't make sense for her to talk about him here, especially since she only remembers Makoto whenever she meets Yu, and no other time. She also bears the burden of her family name just like her dad did. He also made a promise very similar to the one she makes here. The most important person to Mitsuru, has always been her Father.) In The Answer, Mitsuru only supports Yukari's decision because: 1. 1v2 isn't fair, and she wasn't going to be able to talk her out of it. 2. Mitsuru owed Yukari for her support back in Kyoto with her father. 3. She swore to cast all her own thoughts and feelings, even if she was against Yukari, to stand by her side if she were to suffer. After the fight, Mitsuru is the first to console her and tell her to move on from the past. Showing her original intentions, she never agreed to go back on her own, she was against it. But again, she casted aside her feelings and own decisions to support Yukari due to her oath. She tells Yukari she understands what its like to lose someone so important that you've had a close bond with, because Mitsuru lost someone similar (her father). And tells Yukari that because she was there for her when she lost someone important, that she'd be here to support her the same way that she did back in Kyoto. Repaying her back. Also, at the end of the game in Persona 3, she tells everyone that she sees them all as close as family. She is keeping her promise to her father. She understands what family and friends truly mean to her. As for "More Than Just Friends", does it really need an explanation? She says its because she owes her life to him. The man literally was someone as close as family, who gave his life to let his friends and the world live on. So all of S.E.E.S swore to live their lives in honor of him. (Also, this isn't the first or only form of media showing a character of the opposite gender, thinking or talking about a dead or passing friend in the same way, without romantic feelings involved. Just because a female character is mourning or thinking about a dead friend, doesn't mean she likes him. And Mitsuru is one said case.) Given how both Makoto and Mitsuru are as separate characters, it wouldn't make sense for either to like one another. They conflict. Akihiko and Mitsuru's characters, are like 2 sides of the same coin, but they have always shown to a Brother and Sister relationship or a Sibling Rivalry before P3 Dancing or Reload confirmed she has 0 romantic feelings for him. I knew before this because again, the context is THERE, its just alot of people don't take the time to connect the dots. The only confirmed canon feelings between characters, is Makoto, Aigis, Elizabeth, and Yukari. (Elizabeth's SL being fully canon. So people who ship and say they're a thing because the OG VA's are married, that's why Elizabeth is a thing. This girl literally goes to the end of the universe to fight Erebus, hopes of letting his soul pass on. She leaves Igor and her role as Attendant due to her love for him. Her Arcade Ending is the only canon one, except for one part of Mitsuru's just due to Shadow Labrys. Elizabeth hinted at Makoto so much in Arena and Ultimax, her journey and her fight with Makoto. If anything, Elizabeth loves him the most between Yukari and Aigis.) Plus another thing. Mitsuru is a LEADER, always has been. Makoto was just Field Leader. And in this game and the P4U Manga, shes a major character. She's always admired Makoto's leadership and strength. She's mentioned it before. Plus she gets an extra call back to Makoto because idk.. shes around Yu the most? And shes a Major character? Lol he's a wild card user, that fights for his friends and battles very similarly to Makoto. Those who engaged with Yu have a type of callback to Makoto. Yukari has one when she sees Thanatos. If Junpei or Akihiko were in Mitsuru's position instead, dont you think they'd say the same? Or feel something very similar? Precisely. Mitsuru has and always has seen, Makoto and all her friends, as family. I also remember Mitsuru saying to Akihiko, that the reason he trains so much, is because he doesn't want to worry about losing another friend, he wants to forget that worry. Makoto is even on Akihiko's mind, and has impacted even him. It impacted Yukari to the point where she won't allow herself to dwell on it, she forces herself to forget. And it even bothered Junpei. The only person who seemed to have an easier time letting him go, is Mitsuru. Yukari referenced him, and then he was referenced with Aigis when Teddie asked if she loved someone. (Plus this part in the video is non-canon anyways, only what happens with Shadow Labrys and the entity reveal with Mitsuru's story, is canon. They probably just added the reference with Makoto just to do so. And it wouldn't make sense to what she says about him later, chronologically when talking to Narukami. She says: "Mm.. I once knew someone i suspect thought the same." When Narukami talks about saving his friends and going off to fight Sho by himself, in a similar matter to what happened with Makoto, fighting Nyx on his own. So it wouldn't make sense, because he'd already know about her "old friend". So her talking to him in this manner, makes no sense. Again, they gave Mitsuru extra lines because she's a Major Character like i said, and is super popular amongst the dev team and fans. Plus her family quite literally caused The Fall to happen and costed Makoto's life, so she probably feels guilt too. And with Aigis referencing him because she's the canon lover and interest for Makoto, in which he loves her back. Then Elizabeth, who is madly in love with Makoto.. in this game and Ultimax, shown that her entire SL is canon. Atlus has taken specific parts of SL's and made them canon, and not the actual SL's themselves. I believe Yukari's, her SL was canon just due to how she was in The Answer. Not the full thing, but parts of it or a good bit of it. Her, Aigis, and Elizabeth having the closest bonds to him. Junpei being right behind them because he was always trying to bond with Makoto. And also.. why tf would Mitsuru now after basically 2 f*cking years, would she NOW develop feelings for Makoto? 💀 it makes no sense at all, and she doesn't even think about him like THAT when she does talk about him. The only person on Mitsuru's mind most of the time, is her Fathers. I truly feel like people just want to grasp what little hope for their potential ship that they can, taking every small thing and then saying:" OMG SHE LOVES HIM! I KNEW IT! 😊😊😊 😢😢😢MY MAKOTOXMITSURU SHIP IS REAL!" *smh* I mean.. ship for fun, but the facts are there. (Side note. Only Akihiko was shown thinking of Makoto and his face, and then Elizabeths his silhouette appears on the door. With Akihiko, A photo of them is shown with Mitsuru's dad in it, THAT photo, straight from the game, of Makoto and everyone. 💀 in his part of the story. He actually references Makoto more, be it more vague. But again, people are too ficused on one single thing.. plus Akihiko's training so much to make sure no one dies like Makoto did, he doesn't wanna lose anyone else. He's scared. It's always lingering in his mind. As stated by Mitsuru herself.) Plus this game has alot of plot issues and character issues. Meaning if we talk about the Canon between this game to Ultimax, Mitsuru has only referenced Makoto ONCE. Which is at the end of P4's Route.

Lowkey want to persona 6 would be a full collaboration between P3,P4 and P5 character together preventing the the end of the world and Makoto would be the key to that. And this is where Elizabeth finally manage to free Makoto from his destiny to become door-kun. Meanwhile our female MC would be the leading in P3 gang.

I mean, it could be why Yu and Akira\Ren both have wild card abilities. Maybe with a new wild card holder (Can't be Makoto, unless they make him a robot body that can house his soul or make it so that his body was on life support since that day, you know, just in case), they could take on Nyx together with the combined personas of the compendium? Maybe even separate Nyx from Ryoji so he can live freely too.

Despite the Answer ruining P3's theme, I hope they continued the story of Elizabeth trying to find a way to bring the Blue-Haired boy back to life. It sounds interesting and I want to see more of the grown up P3 Cast.

Bringing back Door-kun to life might be a bit of a stretch, since his death in the first place is one of the biggest parts of the game's theme and reversing it is kinda contradictory. We might at least have his spirit live on, like him being the next Velvet Room attendant or even the second Igor, since Japan doesn't like recasting when it comes to dead VAs and they'd rather replace the character entirely. Or just freeing his soul and putting him to rest.

@@JaMann6507 Persona 3's theme was about accepting Death and that everything must come to an end at some point. The Answer ruined that because Minato coming back to life makes the Original Game's theme obtuse.

@@JaMann6507 I think you're a little confused on what I said but I'll clarify. After the battle of Erebus, Mitsuru pointed out that Erebus will return if Humanity doesn't have the will to live through hardships. If Humanity was able to gain the will to live then Minato doesn't have to be the seal anymore. Another way to catch what the game's overall message is too listen to the Intro music, it heavily references Memento Mori which is Remember your Death meaning you (the Player) will die so that's how The Answer ruins the game's theme.

Is the MC died or not? I mean, wich route is true ending?

He’s dead. The true ending is that he seals Nyx away at the cost of his life. The other is the world ends because the MC kills Ryoji, so SEES loses their memories of the dark hour (and saving the world).

@@MagicMonk3y To what I understood he died, something like his conscience became the new seal of nyx so elizabeth goes looking for some way to help him during the person 4 arena. They never gave it an ending as such but the wiki left it in that until now Elizabeth is trying to help him in some way

In the original game and Golden, he didn't really have to worry about that since Narukami barely speaks. However, for the anime adaptations (as well as other media where the two appear together and Narukami isn't borderline mute), he voiced Adach in a slightly higher pitched voice and Narukami a deeper pitch.

I understand that you guys ship Makoto and mitsuru, but let us agree that akihiko is a good match too.

Nope, the story is canon when we talk about the events, the P3 and P4 meeting each other and teaming, etc. But each character has a non-canon route where they win the tournament just like in any other fighting game. I would say that the canon one is Yu´s with half of the Elizabeth´s one because they both meet in the last stage where thanks to their fight and the finally understanding of the wildcard she gets the Fool arcana meaning that she is ready to start her own journey. This important event must to be canon.
