    great demo , lets say the job is alot larger than a hood/bonnet, and i notice mottle, lets say its already flashed , can i apply another full coat then another drop coat , or apply the blender to the 1.5 coat surface then apply another drop coat ? cheers

    Thanks for the question. This is probably the most challenging fix due to the fact that already flashed basecoat will absorb any subsequent coats applied over it making it difficult to achive a homogeneous film. It really depends upon the severity and extent of the problem you are trying to fix. Small localsied areas can be corrected using RFU material at low pressure - 0.8 - 1.0 bar to apply a droplet coat and disguise the issue . Please see an example of this technique here kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZmekrLiwY6vcmdo.html For a larger area you can apply an even coat plus an additional effect coat without over applying/wetting the substrate but he safest way is to apply clear, dry, sand and reapply the system.

    How does this apply on darker colours with pearls and metalls like Renault kpn. I have problems with mottling on these colour groups but none on silvers.

    Hi, thanks for the question. This method will work equally well on darker colours where some additional control may be needed.

    hi..can i ask what is criss cross pattern in spraying and what is the purpose of that spraying pattern? thanks

  • @Spieshecker

    @Spieshecker

    3 жыл бұрын

    This describes a technique where you change the spraying direction over a panel from coat to coat i.e. first coaon a hood is applied from the side to the middle and then completed from middle to opposite side. In the second coat you spray for example from the back of the hood to the middle and then the middle to the front edge thus shifting the overlaps in the belief you will avoid stripes in your basecoat. In reality as long as you concentrate on your distance to the object, overlap and speed you can control stripes/mottling etc as shown in the video.

    Yes the fluid tip is open 100%, the only difference is the distance for the effect coat.

    Thanks for the question, with the Sata 5500 1.2O I would suggest an inlet pressure of 2 bar (approx29 psi) and a full fan.

    How do you fix it. If the paint is dry before you see something you don’t like?

    Thanks for your question and sorry for the slight misunderstanding. In the video we show how to fix any mottling whilst the paint is still wet, which is the best way to remedy any mottling. This is a common question we get during trainings and customer visits. However we know what you mean, and we have already other videos in production to deal with this topic.

    So being someone who has sprayed spees for years in a major DRP shop I only wish we had the ability to allocate the time you have to said job. unfortunately that's like watching a fantasy movie..... I promise you there is much more efficient ways to spray this paint and have it save 10 fold on the material plus I have the best quality/materials numbers in the USA for my company we have 1800 painters.... first of all you didn't remove the bumper.... how can you do a proper repair like that? You have to remove all parts and do a full tear down to evaluate all damages not to mention if you just tape everything off it creates soft edges which degradate and fail over time because of UV exposure your color may match you failed miserably at a quality paint job

    Very pleased to hear you have such good numbers, well done. Actually you are in some ways missing the point of these videos, yes these are filmed in training facilities but they are intended to show process. I would agree that removing parts is the best way to operate but not everyone has the luxury of being able to do that. We get a lot of positive responses to our videos and the information given in them, sorry they don't work for you.

    Thats it, you tell the manufacturers training centre how to use their products and completely miss the point that it's a training centre not a body shop. Brilliant 😂
