Lyrics:
You take the long way
Wrong way to form me
And the time is now
I never would have thought this is the new me
So many people
So many faces left to please around me
You’re ready to play dead?
I’m ready to face it
As I’m falling to pieces, the vultures are feasting
We’ve breached the precipice
Long way down
Now I’ll say this: I’m in hell, passed the mark I’ve missed
Mistakes running through my brain
There’s a lesson to be learned and I’ll heal again
Bloodstains cover all the walls
I’m the pessimist patient doll
So here I sit like a marionette
Strings on my limbs, rope on my neck
The hell below exists within my bed
Counting every misstep ‘till it’s time to reset
It feels so low, the love I’ve known
Floating on my own
Forward
Back
It’s all the same now
This is a one way road
Somebody do it slowly… kill me slowly
The past is cutting through me and all the imperfections, they show
Heartbeat haunts me
When all the bad times stick and I don’t know what to do with them, I’m burning like wildfire
Take me fucking out of this hole
Heartbeat haunts me
‘Cause all the bad times stayed and I don’t know what I’m doing here
Mistakes coursing through my veins like the heroin needle to the addict’s brain
Bloodstains
Hanging from the wall is the pessimist patient doll
So here I sit like a marionette
A slave to thoughts
They’re like a weight on my chest
An appetite for neither food nor sex
With a malicious intent I’ll take two to the head
(Solo: Mansoor)
You put the strings on my limbs
I put the rope on my neck
You put the strings on my limbs
I put the rope around my fucking neck
You put the strings on my limbs
Now I’m the one with the rope on my neck
(Sax solo: Munkeby)

Awesome song and awesome Prince shirt on Spencer Sotelo
I recommend this song to all fans of jazz fusion.
Absolutely LOVE the break in the middle! Feels like it goes against most "rules" of music videos and I couldn't be happier to see it here. Absolutely fantastic!
Top-notch! Love the Fredrick Thordendaal influence in the solo.

I am a teenager and I must say I am glad I got to listen a lot to music like this. Most modern songs feel so bland. Often feels like some blonde white girl standing there with overly excessive amounts of makeup. I don't usually express my opinions like this.

I only just found "The Event" on Periphery Juggernaut Alpha. It's so cool to see where the idea for Wildfire originated from!
What makes Periphery stand out so much for me is that Spencer is an entertainer, through and through. Few metal singers nowadays have his stage/screen presence. P5 is gonna be an absolute banger digitally and live

The making sense part resonates with me. I heard it once and wasn't really blown away, listened to it again a week later and immediately dug it, also on a multiple times per day basis now. By now I should know better than to think I understand or cherish all Periphery songs after a first casual listen.

I've been listening to this several times each day since the release date or so. Every few days I discover new musical complexities in a different sequence of just a few bars. There is music for years in this song. These melodies and beats together are fucking legendary. This piece is just so much greater than the sum of its parts. I am still blown. PS.And the pre-chorus melody could be as well in some classical music. Amazing.

The rise of the chorus to that instant of ‘wildfire’, the lyrics : ‘when all the bad times stick, and I don’t know what to do with them’ it just burns like ‘wiiiiiiildfiiiire!’
Years back, I listened to periphery in high scool in 2014-17. I listened to alpha-omega A LOT. Hearing this hits with nostalgia but with a fresh new layer. Every reference brings back good memories and I feel I'm going to have another strong attachment to their music. Incredible work so far, I have very high hopes for this one.
