Peripheral Artery Disease - Is There a Holistic Approach to Treatment?

Ғылым және технология

What is the best approach to peripheral arterial disease (PAD)? Do all blockages need to be treated? Is there evidence that lifestyle changes and self-management can provide relief from the symptoms of PAD and alter its course? Speaker: Matthew Mell, MD

This guy did great answering these horrendous questions without laughing. I'm a nurse and could barely keep it together especially with the attitude and confidence some of these people have. This guy is watering down even the complicated stuff. Basically, he doesn't know what causes PAD but exercise, meds, and so forth are associated with reducing risk. Even statins, he said while they lower cholesterol, we aren't 100% sure that's where their benefit lies.

I have question I was hoping someone may be able to answer: "Is it possible for spinal nerve compression to cause limb ischemia (specifically the feet), where there are no other pathologies i.e.: diabetes, renal insufficiency, reduced cardiovascular output due to cardiovascular diseases like cardiomyopathy, peripheral arterial disease etc...?" Thanks!

EWOT involves using a bike or treadmill for 15 minutes per day while breathing ~90-93% oxygen. Most EWOT available have a high contrast interval which involves exercising with low O2 concentration for 15-30 seconds every 3-5 minutes. There can be side affects early on from herximer reaction of release of peripheral toxins being released to liver.

My differential blood pressure readings testing both arms I've been on average I would say 15 to 20 the highest I've seen is 28 and at that point I kept feeling like I was going to faint always seems to be the right arm with the lowest pressure for a couple years now I've also been getting numbness from my foot to my head and everything in between it can be solely just on my right side or sometimes it's on my left side but mainly on my right side. I really started to notice this blood pressure problem I would say a couple weeks ago I was just laying down playing a video game am I right arm connecting to the chest part I guess like the socket I started to feel like a tightness pressure the next day I had it for a little bit as well but after that I've been taking my blood pressure because I've been noticing my arm tends to go numb a lot like lack of circulation more than usual. Now telling doctors about this they don't ever seem like maybe there's something going on with this guy. I swear Western medicine literally wants you to have fatal issues before they want to help. I know that I have a mild hypertrophy RVH also get PVCs Pacs under a hundred a day. I've also noticed I would say this year there's a lot of times I wake up sometimes bilaterally both of my hands will feel like there's no circulation there's color just feels like there are sleep. but then again like I say my $300, 000 a year doctor doesn't seem concerned

I had something similar, strange numbness where it felt like no circulation but wasn't turning blue or anything. I did a lot of natural stuff so: Accupuncture & Chiropractic adjustments 1-2 x/ wk . I had a really bad systemic fungal infection also that antibiotics didn't fix so I ended up just lathering up my entire body with strong essential oil combo (Frankincense, Oregano, Thyme, and a couple others I can't remember), I mixed them with some coconut oil and rubbed it into my entire body from head to toe 4x / day. It worked for me! I was really sick, had symptoms of MS, diabetes, pneumonia & I couldn't stop losing weight, was sure I'd die. You gotta be consisten and not skip treatments! Consistency is key.

Holistic is the philosophy that all parts of a thing are interconnected. I think the term has been used interchangeably now with supplements or "non pharma" medications. The basis of this presentation is to present all the treatments and recommendations that can help reduce the severity of the disease. Sometimes medications can help as a placeholder, kind of like a brace for a sprained ankle. Granted, PAD is much more severe than a sprain and depending on the severity, it can be urgent to take meds to prevent further atherosclerosis (with the goal to ultimately save legs).
