@@ZaZa-ra I would say it's the only car I've ever owned that I can use every inch of what it gives. It's one of the most structurally rigid cars I've ever owned as well. No matter what other car I get into, the body never feels as taught as the Yaris. Just a note too, I recently picked up a GR Corolla Morizo Edition (one of 25 brought into the country) and I'd still prefer my Yaris to that.

Owned mine for a year now, taken it to the Nurburgring and got to say I absolutely love it. The seat position for me at 5ft 10in is fine, it’s a homologated rally car, so it was done for a reason. The LSD’s really do make it go round bends like a gokart even in standard form, getting on the power early and letting it claw its way round never gets old. I laugh out loud every time I drive it and almost need plastic surgery to wipe the smile off my face. It’s a forever car for me and I’ve owned a few at 49.

The GRY for me is better than any of the cars I’ve owned. It’s ability to deploy all the power in the dry and wet is incredible and it just feels special every time I drive it, devours back roads, rides great, looks purposeful too. Great review but I don't fully agree with the conclusion of 'maybe' buy it, and only really buy it if your going to track it. My GR Yaris was delivered to me in December 2020. In the over 2 and a half years i've owned it and 16,000 miles i've put on the car I have never tracked the car but have driven it 'enthusiastically' on occasion when it makes sense. You don't have to be a die hard track head to appreciate and own this car. You don't have to constantly be doing red light drag races at every stop to own this car (although it does put a lot of german barges to shame). Driving this car as a daily has been one of the most incredible experiences I have had and what this car offers shouldn't be gatekeeped for the track. However I do agree with what you say about the car being used as a flex and being kept in sheds and only for show. This car deserves so much more than that. This car needs to be driven to be appreciated. To buyers who are thinking about getting one but not a track head, don't let this conclusion put you off. Yes you are sacrificing some luxury but the driving experience everyday is something you but a smile on your face every time. Just beware, plan ahead for EVERY Ikea trip...

One of the best cars Toyota has ever made. BUT if you live in Australia you have to deal with Toyota Australia, the legion of d*ckhead Toyota dealers (No matter what they say, your order for your GR Yaris will never be fulfilled), or the reptiles that are scalping these things on carsales. Those 50km second hand GRs were someone's legitimate order that got "accidentally" allocated to someone else who "No longer needs the car due to being given a work vehicle" and now has $20k tacked onto it. I've got one! The biggest problem with the car is that Toyota doesn't want to pay out warranty on anything with it. They blame everything on the way you drive. I had the second gear issue, luckily I got it fixed because I knew the right people. Mine had about 35k on it when it happened. I don't drive what I would consider particularly hard. I've had plenty of cars with much higher KMs putting out power that the gearbox wasn't designed to handle, I've driven these cars very hard in comparison to my Yaris and I've never had any issues with them. How many WRXs do you hear having gearboxes pop out of gear? None. Why do you hear of quite a few GRs with the issue, even though there is so few of them compared to WRXs, and they would get the same sort of treatment. It's because there is some sort of a design flaw with the box. Note that my car is an early car. I'm very disappointed in Toyota, I was incredibly lucky because I knew the right people to talk to through my work. If that wasn't the case there is no way it would have been covered. It technically wasn't even done under warranty, it was done as "good will" from Toyota. I'll never buy another new Toyota again because they failed to admit there is a problem and blamed the driver for the issue

The seating position is horrid, pedal spacing is terrible, and you MUST get LSDs (if not a Rallye) otherwise it's too keen to understeer in the wet as the front washes out - a rear only LSD makes it even worse in the wet as it pushes the front to wash wide as the open front diff can't get traction.

@@babeyoulove1883 @mengx94 I honestly don't know what to say, I love the car so much. The 6 speed gearbox means the car doesn't break a sweat on the freeway, I get about 560kms on a full tank (Sydney to Coffs Harbour). Standard wheels and suspension so the ride whilst noisy on some surfaces is comfortable, and overtaking is a breeze. The biggest problem is because it's so zippy, you just wanna play enduro racer and overtake everyone LoL. Honestly, I love driving the car, I'd rather do food deliveries than sell it because I couldn't afford it 🤣🤣🤣

Unless you're always driving like a madman in very bad conditions. For track usage yeah I guess they're not very comparable.
