I think this is the best "blue" fragrance, particularly because it's not traditionally blue - i.e., it's pretty green. However, it doesn't really last superbly on me, six hours, and most fragrances last forever on me. That's how long La Nuit de l'Homme lasts on me. Excellent review, thanks!

I went to the store for a second time to try it today. Just to walk around with it and experience it throughout the day. I actually very much agree with Aaron... it's just too metallic, sharp and kind of bitter. It really doesn't speak to me... even though I really wanted to like it... hence I went to try it again. So this is not for me... but a different YSL scent that I REALLY dig is La Nuit De L'Homme Bleu Electrique... now that one is lovely!
@moustachio334 Жыл бұрын
This is one that is definitely made for me. I've been testing all the modern perfumes I can get my hands on. Nothing has come close up Y edp. Is it the best YSL? Far from it but it does stay unique enough within the market and it stands out. I thought it would be a shower gel scent. I was left with a salted ambergris and sweet tonka bean on my skin. Absolute heaven. I've decided to buy this over Armani Code parfum.

Just a beginner trying to learn and educate myself in perfumery. So please forgive and bear with my ignorant attempts to describe my impression of Y EDP. I love the opening, what I call a Sage Bomb opening, sort of reminds me of Axe Apollo Shower gel (Cedar and Sage) but of course way higher quality. But in the dry down it changes quite a bit to what I, with my ignorant nose, would deem a predominate floral note. I know I don't mind floral notes as background, though here it seemed so strong, and bitter, grating, ruling the dry down. Would that be the middle note of geranium I am smelling? Whatever note it is, I don't hate it, but I don't like it either. Btw, your channel is fascinating, the depth and nuance with which you go into the notes. I feel even more ignorant after watching your videos, but I mean this as a compliment to you. You inspire one to learn each fundamental note and recognize them. Now, achieving that is quite difficult practically speaking, but well worth pursuing. Thanks again!

Best fragrance reviewer, love the channel and the content!
Your Thumbnails are as glamorous as your content 🖤
I think this is the best "blue" fragrance, particularly because it's not traditionally blue - i.e., it's pretty green. However, it doesn't really last superbly on me, six hours, and most fragrances last forever on me. That's how long La Nuit de l'Homme lasts on me. Excellent review, thanks!
Great 👍🏾 review Aaron, this is one of my favorite fragrances.
I had incredible compliments with this one , I mean really mad ones, and the performance is bomb. The trail that it leaves is the amazing part..

I have this one, to me it's a very great fragrance you want to pull out for spring time. I find it behaves extremely different on skin vs. clothes, with substantial transformation from the opening to the dry down. Might just choose to wear tomorrow now, great review !
Would love to hear your take on the newer Le Parfum version. Seems like it has some of the added improvements you wished this EDP had. Love the Parfum!!

@@AaronTerenceHughesthat’s the definition of a perfumer.
Im new to the fragrance world and i went into Macys wanting to smell the Y for men EDT/EDP cause i heard so many good things. I heard how great the EDP was but I too wasnt too crazy about it. i did love the EDT though! I wear it all the time and it lasts forever!
Hey Aaron. Big fan. I always go for your review and buy or don’t buy. Can you in the future please review Clive Christian, maybe rock rose or any other?

Super long lasting, got a spray at a mall on a test strip on a sunday. At wednesday morning it still has a hint of the perfume left that you can detect. This fragrance is fresh but also has a couple of sweet notes that makes it very long lasting.
Please review the new Ysl Y Le Parfum. I saw reviews that the dry down is much better and it is darker with tonka and lavender notes. Interested to hear your expert opinion on it. Thanks for all of the insightful reviews.
I really enjoy this, and I have received some compliments with it. But like you said I think it comes down so much to personal preference.

Hi Aaron thanks for the review. Can you review Xerjoff Casamorati Italica?
Hi Aaron 😀 The video is 8mins long But, how long does a full review take from opening to drydown in real time
Y is becoming one of my favs! nice bright fragrance.
Spot on review! I blind bought y edp and it’s too metallic and sharp for me. The drydown is a synthetic mess.
You could get the 100ml plenty of times here in Germany for just 50€, and even right now about 60€. It‘s quite a steal for that price.
By far the best reviewer! Please make Boy by Chanel!
I agree on your comment. The smell is not consistent. The best smelling part disappears quickly and comes the drydown as you explained. I think YSL Y Live is consistent with regard to the smell. If you want the opening to last long, Y Live is the perfume for you.
Aaron please do a review on YSL Y Le Parfum. I never buy fragrances until I see how they get rated by you! 🙂
I accidentally left this fragrance in my car's glove compartment for 3 days so it's been exposed to probably north of 150°F/65°C temperatures. What compounds within the perfume have been compromised and what impact would it have on the scent? Thanks
People talks good about this line, especially the edt and Y live, and edp, too. Y live seemed very youthful, fruty once I smelled it. But sometimes you want something happy and shiny to put on, less serious. Liked very much the review.
I tried this on in a store and could easily still smell it the next day so for me the longevity is good.

When we´ll have your take on Y Le Parfum?
I like these reviews. Highly critical
I find this a modern take on a 90’s classic being Original Hugo Boss, easy to wear and very summery.
This post is ironic, this is the current fragrance I am falling absolutely in love with! It smells like the vintage Bath & Body works Juniper breeze; green, fresh, fruity, uplifting, sexy. Uplifting scents/ & sage notes are my favorite 2 smells other than mint. I LOVE how nothing about this smells harsh & metallic like these other blue scents. Amazing fragrance. Spring clubbing scent for sure.

Always great reviews. I do like this fragrance as a dumb reach, smells nice but nothing groundbreaking. Longevity is great too. Solid score there Aaron 👍🏼
This is a good one but can give me a strong headache at times
