Hi Maxxx ❣️ I love blues 💙 ones! I owm YSL Y Parfume ♂️ and I love this fragrance endlessly! Can't wait to try L'Elixir since I tried Intense and I like it as well and Intense ⚡ is apparently closer to L'Elixir 😊 But I have to say my favourite 💙 Blues goes to Chanel Blue EDP or Parfume ♂️ Can't wait to try new release...❣️

I find YSL Y Elixir nicely woody, sligthly soapy, slightly powdery... with no trace of green or herbal notes. Very fine fragrance indeed. Its price is exorbitant, though. As is the one of every Elixir flanker currently available !

I find it to be close to the intense in the opening, and as it drys down, it reminds me of the EDP. I get that companies are trying to run a business and profit is important. But I think the price point on this one is getting a little silly.. at least, with savauge it changed the DNA enough to where it was something a little bit more unique, to me this one is just a blend of the intense and the dry down of the EDP but we all get different things that’s the beauty of Fragrances! Great review man, one of the best in the game!

If it smells similar to Y Le Parfum, (as you mention below) I’m even more interested in this. If it is, and lasts a little longer I’m totally interested. I also love Eau Fraiche. :)

Love Y Eau Fraiche. My most refreshing hot weather scent. Shame it’s discontinued, I guess it makes it more unique in my collection cause in a couple years, almost nobody will wear it.

Sampled this on my skin this weekend, smelled really nice but I got very weak projection from it. Did not push off my skin at all. Sample first because for an elixir (and $180) I would expect a lot better than this.

I used to go noseblind to Y frags, happened mostly upon first 3-4 wearings.

I purchased it this morning. It smells like a more pleasant and concentrated version of John Varvatos “Rebel”.

Im not sure why people dislike this. Im not a fan of ysl at all. This however was a must grab after testing at macys. Perfect for any season and any situation. Definitely not one dimensional either. This lasts on skin for 18 hours. The opening is amazing with the green component. The drydown is even better. Not a sillage monster but Definitely projects well

Has anyone tried layering it with another oud fragrance that really would give it some needed depth

I have the EDP. It’s a very dense fragrance that doesn’t change all that much until about 3 hours in and then it just smells of dense lavender. I do get a lot of compliments when I wear it, but I don’t enjoy the experience.

I hear you - and not enjoying the experience kind of defeats the purpose of wearing it in the first place...

From my sampling, this fragrance simple doesn't last long enough for the price. Y esp last twice as long for half the cost. I do really like the smell and feel it really suits me. Idk ill probably get it anyway. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Put YSL Y EDP layeres on top of YSL Y Elixir and perfection.

I don't doubt it smells great, but to be sincere I haven't even tried any of the collection and I have no intention to do it, not my thing, I'm wearing Rien Incense Intense today light years of difference from the mainstream designer offerings, not saying it's better, just different... Good to know about it, thank you Max!!!

How can some perfume with a price of 180$ everyday perfume for 60 ml? My favorite blue fragrances are Dior Sauvage Elixir and Blue De Chanel EDT.

I dont know why but with every single Y fragrance smells better on someone else than on myself. From a distance it smells good but if i wear it and smell it close im not a big fan of the Y's. The current YSL prices are insane especially the Y line and Myself. In my opinion L'Homme and La Nuit are still their best offerings.

I got this today for €85. Seems for that price to much. The dry down is for me woody. At least it is muscular and definitely only for men.

I looked up the definition of Elixir and I kept seeing "milking it".....

I'm on my 2nd-3rd day wearing this elixir and I still favor the Le Parfum over this. This elixir does not project after 1-1:30 hours after first spraying. It sits close to the skin. For a title of "Elixir" to me it is not worth it. When I think of "elixir" you should choke the people in the room if you spray it 5 times. This is really just another parfum version as it behaves as such. Projects for 1-2 hours max then sits close and are the richest smelling of their collection. It don't smell bad at all, but very basic and generic as the whole Y line does for me.

Not sure why anyone would compare Y Elixir to DS Elixir just because both have the silly elixir label. Two totally different fragrance profiles.

I have to disagree, just minor changes, dud in my opinion too similar the the rest. Not for that price.

I just smelled it! It sucks to me..boring to my nose.

All I get is a stingy soapy smell. I don’t smell all the notes these people talk about. Just a nose stinging soapy smell.

He said “not great” but nice. No way I am paying $180 for a “nice” Y. Considering the fact that this does not add any significant changes, sounds like most people would be best off sticking to the EDT, EDP, or Intense. Especially with the price difference.

$180 pre-tax for a 60 ml ozonic blue designer frag.? Hard pass.

Y Line is crap!

Comparing to Dior elixir is meh. Dior Elixir for the price gives you god performance and longevity so people are usually satisfied with the purchase. This fragrance barely lasts 6hours and dior elixir is still nothing like YSL. YSL is way too fresh and Dior is way darker. Given Gucci Elixir has great performance while still offering something fresh, unique and pleasant. YSL played it way too safe and most elixirs have been bold and risk taking which i enjoyed.

100% fail release to me. Boring

I blind bought a 10 milliliter bottle of ysl y l'elixir for 50 bucks. very glad i didn't spend more money on this very bad perfume. worst of all y perfumes and only lasts an hour on my skin, after that it's barely noticeable. it was the same for my friends who got to test it.
