Thanks for ending the vid with a message of enjoyment. Does not matter how much was spent or what others think, we're here to enjoy the hobby for the right reasons.
Say what you like their designs aren't slavish copies of other brands' designs. I still wear my nera rogue x on a regular basis.

Exactly, even from a distance you can spot it's a peren, so refreshing to see a brand doing there own thing.
Post modern Bauhaus! Gorgeous!
I like it very much. Looks like a Serica and Unimatic had a baby! I like the date at 12, but I actually think a white date wheel could have worked very well, with that round window. It would have matched the hour indicators very well. Even better if the datew wheel was lumed.
Sweet minimalist design without being too minimal.
Damn, thats a cool watch! The design is soooo far removed from all the boring generic divers out there.
I really like that design language. Very handsome.
Anybody else here bothered by the lack of a 12 o'clock marker? I'm genuinely curious. Anyway, neat original design and thanks fo the great video as always!

Completely - for me I think it’s because, when I check my watch, I subconsciously look for the 12 marker first to orient for reading the time. Or maybe just cos it’s different 🤷🏽

Love design, but as you said that date window instead of 12 marker 'kills' the watch imo.
Very nice indeed. I love Peren's original design, attention to detail, and quality. I like everything about this watch. The only thing, and not that I don't like it, but my brain fights the date at the 12 o'clock position. I think it would not take long for my brain to reset however 🙃 US $800 for the ofering I believe to be fair. Thank you for sharing Pete 👍
Nice looking watch. But a Selita movement, they really should have an exhibition case back. That's part of the fun of mechanical watches.
Great design, and I love the no BS packaging. I wish other brands would do similarly minimal packaging instead of the wasteful- and frequently tacky- boxes. For me it’s a little pricey, but I do love the bezel and dial.

I've said the same thing over and over again. I'm wearing the watch not the box. Cutting down on elaborate packaging would also take a few dollars off the watch itself. I have two Perens and love them both. Simple and clean with good water resistance.
I like that. I think a larger/contrasting color date wheel would have made it stand out more. Just my personal preference.
owh wow…this is a very unique piece… simple, nothing fancy yet beautiful…
I think an excellent formula and great looks . Big winner for functionality as well as style . These elements are perfectly suited for what I've needed in a tool watch historically and it's nice to see a fresh design that covers the relative bases .
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!!
Hi Peter, lovely they have there own design language and I nearly pushed the button a few times. The bezel is very useful I have the ixdao diver with the same layout. Great work as usual ,cheers.

Hey Jerry, having a bezel like this just brings an extra practicality to the watch Cheers bro 👍
I would much prefer to get a DiRenzo for that price!
I applaud the original design, even if it’s not for me. Some color would go a long way.
Wow! What a cool piece. Added to my wishlist.
This was one of the first microbrands that caught my attention due to their unique character. The Peren Nera Rogue X was my best micro purchase of 2023. :)
Very nice watch 👨🏻🦲👍🏻 The FKN strap does it absolutely no favours. I think it just cheapens the whole look of the piece. I'd love to see it presented on a bracelet.
Really love the design and execution. At half the price it would be a no-brainer👍

$400 for a Sellita is impossible
Amazing piece ✨
Agree on the price, although if those indices were solid blocks of lumed material, I might rethink that…
Always applaud the design language of Peren, always something different and unique. Here, i like a lot the date at 12, but it's not the only detail to check. Crown, bezel, bezel insert, markers, hands, dial, case shape, polishing, so many indeed. Kudos to the Romanian team. Thanks for the review Peter, hope all is well down under mate.

Welcome bro, hope your doing well also 👍
nice watch, I personally would of loved it more w/out date complications. the Symmetry is let down having the date windows there. interesting bezel design with dual function. damn I wish price was much more friendly... it's not break the bank deal breaker..
Impressive design let down by the loss of the marker symmetry to accommodate a tiny date window that would best be removed if it can't be placed between 20 and 25.Although not overly thick slimming it down by reducing the 200m to 100m would be worthwhile to me, especially if it helped lower the price.
I know it’s a bit pricey, but great and unique designs are so rare these days it seems. Ironically I think the date window would have been better if it was not color matched and was white. Thanks for the great review!
I have to say Peter I really like the differences Peren has in their watch collection! It would be some 18(?) months ago, I had at least one of these in my basket, but pulled out. Now after a while they seem new again!😵💫🤣 Today I’m wearing a German made Werenbach Spaceborn watch! Check ‘em out for a huge point of difference! P.s. Spaceborn gives it away.😉

Nice, I’ll have a look Andrew..cheers brother
Nice review Peter! I like the design in general, but unfortunately I'm bothered to distraction by the small unframed date at 12. I'm actually OK with a large double date format at 12, or alternatively, a small date at 6, but the relative emptiness at 12 just doesn't work for me. Maybe it could be improved by placing a large oval frame around the date that matches the other markers? It seems like an unrequested design element selected solely to differentiate this watch from other micro-brand models with similar designs.
Should’ve framed the date window with an enlarged circular lumed indice
It's on my list! Great Review! 👍👍👍
Nice to see something really quite different with innovative details. I think I would have preferred the date at 6 or not there at all as I’d prefer the elongated oval marker to be at 12.
Another nice little watch.
I think if this watch had bigger indices then it could have had a larger date window to give it a better look in my opinion.
That's a really cool tool watch.
Very nice looking, modern watch, thanks for the video. Personal, and probably very controversial take, but I'd like a cyclops over that date window, and I would sacrifice some of the WR to get the watch down to about 10mm thick.

Im the same, Id be happy with 100m any day for the added benefits 👍
Great review Pete, my only gripe is, and not only Peren, but so many others, why do manufacturers make the date so tiny?? So frustrating, great looking watch but a non starter for me, purely for a dysfunctional date complication. Pity.
enjoyed the review and the watch is interesting

Thanks for watching Stephen, Cheers brother👍
This watch has been on my mind for a while. I know I should be very careful (for my own sake) about allowing myself to be captivated by dive watches as it's just not my style. But here is a watch that keeps me coming back for its utilitarian feeling design that actually keeps things interesting with unexpected flourishes and while feeling distinctly contemporary does so with an aesthetic language that actually reminds me of vintage measurement or photographic equipment: thus an elegant toolish aesthetic. It presents quite compact and feels very coherent (e.g. powdery white hands with open like block indices. Yes, the date is small, but it also looks right at home. My eyesight has always been pretty good and unless it's a real feature, a less intrusive date is probably what I'd prefer. I used to struggle to connect to black watches, but this one just must be black. There is no other way. The double bezel has the welcome effect of making the face of the watch visually smaller. I like the eccentricity of the Regia's bezel, but it has that far more prominent presence typical of dive watches. And yet, as much as the design keeps me coming back, I'm not entirely sure how much I'd like wearing it and your remark about it wearing top heavy is a warning sign. So I keep yoyoing between design appreciation and still finding it too much of a heavier tool for my usual preferences. One I'd love to be able to judge on my wrist.

Like yourself I've been watching this for a while, also the previous model but the long lugs on that one put me off. Its captivating dial snagged me and I pulled the trigger tonight, by chance I watched the brave beaters review and he had a 10% discount code too which knocked 75 chf off which helps! Cheers.

@@benjaminvis yes I'm going to get a nasty bill for customs in the next few days, I'll give you a shout when I get it cheers.
The quality is there but it doesn't really speak to me. I know the saying less is more, but it's a bit on the boring side for me. I'm assuming they have other color options for the dial? As far as the strap, I would be constantly cleaning out the grooves for dirt, lint, oil from my hands, etc. Thanks for the video Pete!
Finally a date at 12🎉
David, as you recently posted a video with you driving the RCF in Japan could you give us your comparison of both? I know they are very different cars but, as I expect that they both will be discontinued very soon, I would really like to hear your opinion - thank you in advance
Nice simple design but the hour makers are not doing it for me. I dunno why. In any case, thanks for sharing.

It’s not for everyone brother 👍
Don't care for the donut hour markers. Don't care for the date at 12. Agree, the date is too small. Price is fine with me. A sandwich dial would have me plonking down my cash.
I like it
The watch itself could be my thing. But I don't like the date window at 12 o'clock. It looks wrong to me, as it the 12 o'clock has fallen off.

Great video as always Peter. I'm not sure why you feel $800 is too steep for a Swiss Made watch with a Sellita in it. What competition is there for cheaper?

Hi Alexander, I feel potentially a bracelet included at this price would have been nice There are always watches available at similar prices, Hamilton Khaki Field for example offers some variants at around the 650CHF price point.. @@PeterKotsa that's fair. Thank you!
It really needs a marker at 12, around the date. Go back and try again ...looks incomplete
This looks like something that might be military issue.
Too expensive
Beautiful but overpriced. There are much better micro-brand models for the price. In fact, I can probably buy two just as nice for the price.

@@AndreiLucaa Thanks for your reply. I have been looking at two watches from Wise of Thailand: the ADAMASCUS AD840B in Bronze and the ADAMASCUS ADX110 True GMT in 904L Stainless steel (same as used by Rolex). There is a 20% discount when buying both bringing the total cost to under $1200. I really want to buy these but I don't need to; in fact, I don't even need a watch. I wish I could justify buying them: they are beautiful and a great deal for the money. Peace!

@@gregtolley3455 Thanks for your reply, Greg. If a watch has good specs and sw200 movement, is the fact that it is Swiss made enough to justify paying much more? Btw, some cheap brands like Invicta and San Martin sometimes use a sw200 (though I'm not "into" either.) Peace, Mate!
