    I like it very much. Looks like a Serica and Unimatic had a baby! I like the date at 12, but I actually think a white date wheel could have worked very well, with that round window. It would have matched the hour indicators very well. Even better if the datew wheel was lumed.

    Completely - for me I think it’s because, when I check my watch, I subconsciously look for the 12 marker first to orient for reading the time. Or maybe just cos it’s different 🤷🏽

    Very nice indeed. I love Peren's original design, attention to detail, and quality. I like everything about this watch. The only thing, and not that I don't like it, but my brain fights the date at the 12 o'clock position. I think it would not take long for my brain to reset however 🙃 US $800 for the ofering I believe to be fair. Thank you for sharing Pete 👍

    Great design, and I love the no BS packaging. I wish other brands would do similarly minimal packaging instead of the wasteful- and frequently tacky- boxes. For me it’s a little pricey, but I do love the bezel and dial.

    I've said the same thing over and over again. I'm wearing the watch not the box. Cutting down on elaborate packaging would also take a few dollars off the watch itself. I have two Perens and love them both. Simple and clean with good water resistance.

Crown, bezel, bezel insert, markers, hands, dial, case shape, polishing, so many indeed. Kudos to the Romanian team. Thanks for the review Peter, hope all is well down under mate.

    nice watch, I personally would of loved it more w/out date complications. the Symmetry is let down having the date windows there. interesting bezel design with dual function. damn I wish price was much more friendly... it's not break the bank deal breaker..

  • @hattyfarbuckle
    @hattyfarbuckle29 күн бұрын

    Impressive design let down by the loss of the marker symmetry to accommodate a tiny date window that would best be removed if it can't be placed between 20 and 25.Although not overly thick slimming it down by reducing the 200m to 100m would be worthwhile to me, especially if it helped lower the price.

    I have to say Peter I really like the differences Peren has in their watch collection! It would be some 18(?) months ago, I had at least one of these in my basket, but pulled out. Now after a while they seem new again!😵‍💫🤣 Today I’m wearing a German made Werenbach Spaceborn watch! Check ‘em out for a huge point of difference! P.s. Spaceborn gives it away.😉

    Nice review Peter! I like the design in general, but unfortunately I'm bothered to distraction by the small unframed date at 12. I'm actually OK with a large double date format at 12, or alternatively, a small date at 6, but the relative emptiness at 12 just doesn't work for me. Maybe it could be improved by placing a large oval frame around the date that matches the other markers? It seems like an unrequested design element selected solely to differentiate this watch from other micro-brand models with similar designs.

    This watch has been on my mind for a while. I know I should be very careful (for my own sake) about allowing myself to be captivated by dive watches as it's just not my style. But here is a watch that keeps me coming back for its utilitarian feeling design that actually keeps things interesting with unexpected flourishes and while feeling distinctly contemporary does so with an aesthetic language that actually reminds me of vintage measurement or photographic equipment: thus an elegant toolish aesthetic. It presents quite compact and feels very coherent (e.g. powdery white hands with open like block indices. Yes, the date is small, but it also looks right at home. My eyesight has always been pretty good and unless it's a real feature, a less intrusive date is probably what I'd prefer. I used to struggle to connect to black watches, but this one just must be black. There is no other way. The double bezel has the welcome effect of making the face of the watch visually smaller. I like the eccentricity of the Regia's bezel, but it has that far more prominent presence typical of dive watches. And yet, as much as the design keeps me coming back, I'm not entirely sure how much I'd like wearing it and your remark about it wearing top heavy is a warning sign. So I keep yoyoing between design appreciation and still finding it too much of a heavier tool for my usual preferences. One I'd love to be able to judge on my wrist.
