What's also sad is that this "new" new math makes no sense in teaching math calculations in such a complicated way. Or worse, the children are expected to only do the math the "new" way and they don't even know how to do long hand/short hand division, for example, AND dodge learning it as if it makes your brain hurt to think that hard. But, that's also the deliberate dumbing down of children.

Haxy Go Haxy Go This is just floating point math. You probably learned it using scientific notation in school. Always multiply the base numbers and use the powers of ten to determine where to move the decimal point. 27% = 27×10^-2 120 = 12×10^1 27×12 = 324 -2+1=-1 So move the decimal left by one: 32.4

In my senior year, I needed a math credit and so I took Tech Math, thinking it was going to be easy. First day, the teacher says that we will be covering pre-algebra, algebra 1,2, geometry, and calculus. I did good and pulled off a high B, but this video....this would have made my life even easier. The main percentages you’ll see are 25%, 50% and 75%. 50% is easy since you just divide the number in half. Then you just divide that answer in half and you get your quarter (25% and 75%) and then do a little addition or subtraction. Another cool trick is if the digits making up a number are added together and their sum equals a number that’s divisible by 3, then your original number is also divisible by 3. Example: 354 is divisible by 3 because 3+5+4=12 and 12 is divisible by 3. Another one is the 9 times table. From 9x1 up to 9x10, the numbers are inverted. So the pattern starts with 9x1 through 9x5: 09, 18, 27, 36, 45 and then at this point it inverts and the numbers are backwards for 9x6 through 9x10: 54, 63, 72, 81, 90. I love little tricks like that :)
