I met him once, about 9-10 years ago. I was at a local hip hop show in LA with some friends and Percee was in the crowd vibing to the local talent. Down to Earth as hell. He asked if we could give him a ride home, and of course we said yes. On the way, he had us stop at kinkos so he could make some CDs. We all bought one from him. It was such a great night

Yeah, I have a Percee P story myself. Haha. He was hanging outside this record shop and he approached us asking if we wanted to buy a CD off him but he didn't say it was of him or what it was about. I didn't know. So I was like nah because I thought he was just a street merchant pressing us but someone, don't remember who told me who he was and I was like, "Oh shit!" I did a mind shift and no one knew what was going on because they didn't know who he was even when I told them but he was all humble about it. Cool guy. Def. underrated. I do wish guys like that get their props but we know they get theirs on the low.

ArrowBeeTV was that show at the Knitting Factory? I met him there about that time. My friend was rapping first, Percee came up to me repping his mixtape and I usually don’t pay people coming up all random like that no mind but he had such heart I could feel every word he was saying was true. Then he went on stage like an hour later and 20 seconds into his first verse everybody in the crowd was floored. Best 10 bucks I’ve ever spent.

I'm just gonna give you "your flowers" right here & now then - When I tell people about Percee-P, I let 'em know that Percee-P finds the 'deepest pockets' in any rhythm of any MC I've heard (been listening to hip hop since '83). His timing is impeccable and his flows are indelible and ever changing. He sounds the best (to me) over beats with "shakers" cause it's brings out something more in his rhymes. I would personally love to hear you on some 'Mardi Gras Indian' type beats. When I get the all-new S2400 sampler from Isla Instruments I am gonna play around with some of those rhythms. Peace ✌️
