I speak both English & Spanish fluently... I learnt both languages because of Roxette by the way... and I can tell you, Per that Marie did a fantastic job! It's hard to believe she didn't understand what she was singing... she puts the stress onto the right part of the words and she gets the intonation right as well. Even my Spanish friends confirmed she's amazing. Thank you so much for your music... and for all the inspiration it came with it. :)

Per, once again, thank you for finding this lost (or hidden) gem and making it come to light! We fans have been dreaming about listening to it for several years, it's a pity that it has never made the cut in "Baladas En Español", and no, "Baladas" doesn't have too many songs, there are only 12 in it, this could have made the cut, but I don't know what the criteria was back in 1996... You guys should re-release "Baladas" remastered just like the 7 first English albums and include this as bonus track, maybe also including the "Have A Nice Day" Spanish versions to make a definitive Spanish album! (Will anybody read my suggestions and make them come to life? 😰)

And I love both "Vulnerable" and "Timida" (unquestionably I love the first one the most because it's the original version). Madonna was singing in Tower Records or something years back and she couldn't remember the lyrics to one of her 80s hits. That's why they have rehearsal. I always thought it was about copyrights probs with Desmond Child you never released it back in 1996. Btw: Marie sings perfectly right in spanish. She sang pretty really well. Luis Escolar didn't translate the songs. He made totally new lyrics. But this is another chapter

Per didn't remember song title in Spanish, I can remember all that lyrics of that song all those years , however I don't speak Spanish at all. Well I was hardcore fan 😊

My guess is that Tu No Me Comprendes is not the only ballad in spanish that's stored somewhere. I always wondered why there was not a Spanish version of Almost Unreal and now I really think there is but Mr. Gessle must have it in store for another Bag of Trix maybe? Even though both Per and Marie always said they didn't like the song it was a hit so it must have been definetely in the recording plans. Hence, a new Roxette XFiles saga begins xD

I think they choose the slow songs that are easier for them to Sing. "Almost unreal " is faster for them to Sing in a foreing language

@@MrAnia78 really? it seems to me that "you don't understand me" is wordier in the lyrics, not the chorus. If Marie could deal with that, "Almost Unreal" should be a breeze. My opinion. I hope Per has that gem in Spanish stored somewhere even though he doesn't like it.

Thanks for sharing this. I've always wondered about the history of your "Baladas en Español" album. It seemed like an unlikely release from a Swedish duo. As an American who learned Spanish as a second language, I liked it. Not gonna fault you and Marie for not knowing Spanish, though, since I don't speak Swedish, but you two sure could've fooled me!

She could understand Spanish, she studied in School and she made some verses for the Spanish album. Another fact, the lyrics are not translated, they are different in comparison to English versions, may be she felt more comfortable with the sense of some songs. "Spending my time" is "Un día sin tí" (means: A day without you) I think the Spanish lyric is more deeper than the original, and Marie was captive by this version specially

todos esos que crítican las letras en español, deben ser respetuosos del esfuerzo de los artistas, por traducir a nuestro idioma, a menos que ustedes, y aún así es considerado una grosería, hablen perfectamente varios idiomas al grado de poder componer buena música, música de este nivel, tal vez solo así, podrían críticar, si no les gusta, está bien, pero no hay que ser irrespetuosos.

Las adaptaciones son horribles, el disco es un desastre. Te lo dice alguien con más de 30 años siguiendo a la banda.

Maries voice and delivery, Pers music and lyrics writting and performance make up what we love as Roxette fans. Now....the album in Spanish. While i think it was a smart move on their part, it felt more like a joke. Even like a disrespectfull move toward us fans that took the band seriously. It leads me to believe that they sort of found a native Spanish speaking lyricist in a flee market who was selling bootleg CDs and thought it was a good idea to make a quick buck regurgitating whatever first words came to his mind when told to think that the project was to be sold in Latinamerica. "Un dia sin ti" is only bearable in certain parts, mostly the chorus. The rest of the songs not only could not hold the magic (not even by a mile) but also destoyed the songs themselves along with the image of the band by almost laughing im our faces with what really feels like a very rushed way to capitalize on the hype. Been holding this ever since the album came out. Roxette was very important for me in my teenage years.
