Pepsi's Soviet Armada
DID Pepsi have the 6th largest navy in the WORLD???
Well, no. That's a myth. But, there is some truth to it... It almost sorta really happened. We've just added some balls.
Here's how it went down: The Kitchen Debate was a series of impromptu exchanges between U.S. Vice President Richard Nixon, and Chairman of the Council of Ministers Nikita Khrushchev at the opening of the American National Exhibition in Moscow on 1959. During this Exhibition Nixon shared a Pepsi with Krushchev.
After that, Pepsi decided it wanted to be the only cola in the Soviet Union! So they made a deal. Initially, in the 1970s, the deal was simply Pepsi's Cola Concentrate in exchange for Stolichnaya Vodka. But after a little while, that just wasn't cutting it...
So in the late '80s, Pepsi and Russia had to renegotiate the deal. During the negotiations somebody floated the idea of trading end of life battleships and submarines (which Pepsi could sell for scrap) in exchange for Pepsi, but this was rejected as totally crazy. The deal they ended up agreeing on was frigates and oil tankers (and more vodka!) for Pepsi. Pepsi would sell the boats through an intermediary country in order to reap the profits...
But we all know how things went for the USSR... Shortly after the deal was finalized, the USSR collapsed, and Pepsi and Russia had to negotiate a (brown?) New Deal...

1:43 I really appreciate the extra detail given to Belarus and Georgia having a different flag, but Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan also had different flags. And while this could be ignored since this channel isn't entirely dedicated to history, I still find it quite strange that this video (regarding flags at least) is still more accurate than some of MrSpherical's.

Sometimes with logos and flags we try to pick the more recognizable ones instead of the period accurate flags to make the characters easier to identify. Unless it was a video about the evolution of that specific brand/country, then we would focus on using the more accurate flags/logos

Hi, I just wanted to ask if Worker Boi Three Six Five will be returning soon, because first, he last appeared in the episode, The Social Media War, which was posted a month ago, and second, it would be good to have him back because he is (obviously) the main character of the entire show. However, I still do have a good time watching your videos because what WorkerBoi episode isn’t funny? Your other channels MrSpherical and SolarBalls are also making great progress and I am subscribed to all three channels of course :) Keep up the great work!

On July 24, 1959, Pepsi-Cola made history by announcing the creation of the "Pepsi Generation" campaign. This campaign is considered to be one of the most significant marketing efforts in the company's history and changed the face of advertising industry forever. The "Pepsi Generation" campaign was aimed at young people in their teens, twenties and thirties and was a radical departure from traditional soda advertising at the time which was targeted towards an older demographic. The campaign featured a catchy jingle, "Come alive, you're in the Pepsi Generation" and presented Pepsi as a drink that was hip, youthful and exciting. Pepsi's innovative use of television advertisements to appeal to a younger demographic was a massive success, and the company's sales soared as a result. The "Pepsi Generation" campaign continued for over a decade and was one of the most successful marketing campaigns in American history. In conclusion, July 24, 1959, marked the birth of the "Pepsi Generation" campaign, which revolutionized the marketing industry and made Pepsi a household name among young people. The campaign's legacy can still be seen today, with Pepsi continuing to target younger demographics in its advertising efforts.
Ignore that you get low views! Your content is still great.

the 2nd "mrspherical" video to include Kazakh brick (or Kazakh ball), 3 overall to include Kazakhstan in some form.
why did you draw Pepsi with a modern logo, although at that time the logo looked different?
@WorkerBoi
Жыл бұрын
To make it easier to be recognized! If we ever do a video on the history on Pepsi we would try to recreate the historical logos! Most people aren't aware of how different some logos were in the beginning

Me: Literally just mix Pepsi and Coca Cola before drinking them.
Kazakhstan being a ball is one of the cursed things in my life
Idea: Coke turns White when come enters Soviet Union because a general in S. U. Loved coke so much but he can only drink it in meetings with the West, so coke engineers thought of Coke turning white and then they sold it to S. U. Citizens and the general
It is also explained on Food Theory
TBH why does Pepsi’s logo looks like the Netherlands flag
Talk about aggressive marketing
