I got my forge over the holidays. It was a huge learning curve for me coming from elegoo and lychee and was a love hate using vlare. Peopoly have the best customer support I've come across in 3d printing and now Ive got a hang for printing large models with great detail and minimal support damage. I now feel like my saturn 2 is too small hehe. I agree with all the "gripes" you mentioned and the self assembly was upsetting until I did it. It works well for what I need.

I'm not so sure it's a good idea. I clean my vats by putting them in my wash and cure machine. I'd assume that would break over time if I did that with these vats. Or you drip resin into the plug. Seems like a space heater is a better option to me. Although I don't need a heater so it doesn't do me any good either way. I'd prefer not having it as it's one more thing to break and I don't need it.

It’s not that I don’t believe you. The gripes you mentioned helped form my opinion. The shot of the off center upside down usb port did as well. The camera and vat heater also seem like afterthoughts. Really that was my short answer. I have a number of concerns with it. Specifically the DIY assembly. 1. Increased likelihood of receiving a printer with missing parts. 2. If something isn’t working correctly who’s fault is it? Seems like it would be very easy for the manufacturer shift blame on the customer for a poor assembly job. 3. According to your own consumer survey this brand is one of the poorest scoring. Do I want to take that chance? With a kit? 4. No instructions in box? What other corners were cut? At the end of the day its not for me. It’s a project & Ive got enough of those.

@@vogman This is a good option for me in the UAE as i dont want to pay $650 usd for shipping on the Mega 8K, plus taxes (10%) plus profit to the reseller. In Dubai the Mega 8K costs $3200 landed price. The Phenom Forge costs $1415 landed. So for an extra 5cm on the z-axis on the Mega 8K, I would be paying over $1000. The Mega 8K is a good machine, but i don't think it's "$1000 for an extra 5cm good" when compared to the Forge. What do you think? Would you pay the extra and get the Mega 8K in my case? Phrozen seems to have a few issues, and they are selling off all the Transform printers as they cant find a supplier for the LCDs anymore. The Transform is now also only $999, but obviously that price grows to $2500 here in UAE, and plus it's basically a brick once the LCD dies.
