Looking to upgrade your TV? Discover this trio of DIY projects from our Hometalkers. Each step-by-step tutorial demonstrates something different.
First, Mitch shows us how to make a TV stand out of crates, which still matches his decor. Next, it's an update to an existing TV stand that's too small, so a new tabletop is added. Finally, learn how to make a frame for your TV, which disguises your television as wall art!

he said go to Michael's. You aren't getting a crate that size for $1. Even at any dollar store it won't be $1 for that size.

He said he got it at Michaels, they do NOT sell that size crate for $1, neither does $Tree! 😮

Crate stand looks great! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great project! Came out really nice!!!
Sure maybe if you have a time machine you can travel back to Michael's maybe like 5 years ago to get the $1 crate.

I missed him saying the crates were a dollar. The tag on the shelf says $14.99.
Those crates are 15.00 each here and the wood pallets that used to be free or 5.00 are now upwards of 50.00 it's a beautiful project but wayyyyy expensive !!
You are such a great crafter for big projects!!!!!💙
Spend a little extra time and make your own crates, or just build the stand without crates and ad alot of 1 x pine boards instead. You will still have the same stand and keep your costs down. Helps alot if you have a tablesaw or a track saw and a brad nailer, but always use wood glue also. I know alot of people can't afford a good tablesaw or have a place to keep one though. They do also make portable jobsite tablesaws that fold up for easier storage.
I didn't know Bob Ross was a carpenter also. Lol

I was just going to ask that
Sounds like Bob Ross.
If this is flipping out to you, what would flipping in look like?
Why not mount the TV to the wall... saves space.

As a renter I’m not allowed to hang anything like that.
How can you put one crate in the middle when you have four?
@EnkiduShamesh

I think he marked the center and then placed the first crate adjacent to the center line
Isn't this causing stress on the television with heat retention? TVs need some air to cool down, even modern ones.

dude probably spends all his time building dumb stuff like this so his TV never even gets turned on.
Pallets are 1.00 at ReStore-
U didn't prime the trim piece!!!!
If you have the tools for this then you have the tools to make the crates
Beautiful table however, the cost to build it is now about 150 dollars.
The only problem i see is that the frame will cover the tv heat vents so you run the risk of over heating leading to electronic failure !!!
Why in the heck don’t you paint BEFORE you glue it? Geez so much easier. Duh
Dollar tree
The only people that are flipping out are your relatives for embarrassing them by posting this !
Sheesh... These ppl make ppl think they're stupid w their instructions 🤦♀️

hope she doesn't end up with a Kitten or a boyfriend with a Kttten or cat
It sure seems like you've stolen, downloaded, combined, and reloaded 3 videos from two other creators and posted them to KZread as your own. Is this the only way you know how to create content? What a lazy way to create a KZread channel!

@@Hometalk That's great to hear because there are far too many content theives scammers on KZread.
This looks like crap. Go down to the thrift store and find a beautiful old dresser you can paint. Lots of drawers for storage. This looks like crappy Ikea cubby’s with a board on top.
How can you use wood through the whole project and then use that cardboard trap for a framing?
