For clarification, about tanghulu, i do not know why the "Chinese" representative said there is only one kind of fruit made for Tanghulu. In China, we also use various kinds of fruit to make Tanghulu as well, such as mandarin,Grape, strawberry, Chinese yam too. Tanghulu is pretty traditional and cultural food with much longer history than we thought in China. And i am glad other countries ppl like Chinese street foods such as tanghulu. To the Chinese girl in this video, i want to say" don't give other ppl with incorrect answer, when you don't know much about it”.

Sorry, but we have mixed fruit on a stick very early also, like pineapple + grape. But my favorite is "strawberry + orange " when I was a child. This Chinese girl is an intentionaly selected actor for this korean channel to promote culture appropriation. And the tanghulu in this video still appear "one type on a stick", isn't it?

@@dingyiyu9228The term "culture appropriation" or "cultural appropriation" is just stupid. Someone should feel proud or honored if something from your culture is desired and/or adopted by another culture. We literally live in a world where every major society, including China is built on this so called "cultural appropriation". Don't be so divisive. It's a bad look.

As a Thai I feel somehow offended that Stir Fried Basil with Minced Pork were chosen to be represent Thai street food because it's more of a full meal than something that you can take and eat while you walk. I respect that someone made it into street food but I'd like to tell you more about it. This dish is also known as Krapao Khai Dao, it appears in restaurants regardless of class, and it also appeared in convenience store as Bento. And the basil itself is actually just a variant of Stir Fried Vegetable with Meat and there also cursed version of it where the vegetable was excluded. In case you wonder why do I know this much, well, I used to work in a restaurant and I'm a handyman who handle almost everything from a cashier to waiter to advertisement designer, to a chef, and the owner's secretary, and not only I saw Krapao Moo Sap without Krapao (Basil) from the internet but I also received and cooked such order myself. If you want to eat the cursed version, please cook for yourselves because meat is way more expensive than vegetable, in order to cook the same amount of food compare to normal version, it supposed to be more expensive thus it's practically legal robbery.

That Chinese girl, I suspect she is a fake Chinese, she said that there is only one kind of tanghulu in China. In fact, in ancient China, there were tanghulu made from various fruits. Candied haws on a stick is a traditional Chinese snack that originated in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is made by skewering wild fruits with bamboo skewers and then dipping them in maltose syrup. The syrup hardens quickly when exposed to the wind. A common winter snack in the north is usually made of hawthorn skewers. The sugar is thin and frozen. It tastes sour, sweet and very cold. The ancient practice began during the Song Dynasty. "Yanjing Chronicles" records: The candied haws on a bamboo stick is made with mountain red, crab apple, grape, sesame yam, walnut kernel, bean paste, etc., dipped in rock sugar, sweet and crispy And cool.

In China, fruit Tanghulu 水果糖葫芦 has always been our traditional snack! Thirty years ago, when I still lived in Beijing, my favorite was strawberries and oranges Tanghulu! I don't understand why this China representative claims China only has hawthorn Tanghulu - perhaps she is from the south? Tanghulu is originated in northern China, and I find it perplexing that she makes such a statement. In recent years, Tanghulu has gained popularity in South Korea, with many attempting to culturally appropriate it, falsely implying that China only has hawthorn one. The truth is, fruit Tanghulu has been a part of Chinese cuisine for decades! Search on Google for the official introduction page of Tanghulu, and you'll find pictures from 20 years ago of a grandpa selling fruit Tanghulu in Beijing!😅

"Korean + world cuisine = Korean specialties" is a formula commonly used by Koreans, such as Korean fried chicken, Korean sushi, Korean fish sashimi, and Korean soybean noodles. Tanghulu will also become Korean tanghulu. In fact, Koreans don’t know that the sugar in Chinese tanghulu is supposed to be thin, taste good, and not stick to the teeth. In USA most of nems are made with a wheat wrappers but Vietnam is a tropical country.. They dont produce wheat.. The real fried rolls is made with a rice paper / wrappers. :)

tbh, there is so many better Chinese street foods besides the most common tanghulu because tanghulu is actually pretty viral so a lot of people probably tried it and they didn't even use the most authentic materials which are hawthorns in the tanghulu so i would also recommend pan fried soup dumplings called 生煎包 or 肉夹馍 which is a pastry cut in half stuffed with meat or 煎饼 which are chinese pancakes with egg and savory stuffings and sauce on the inside instead of the tanghulu.

Interesting, you guys know why this snack is called tanghulu? cuz its English name is given completely according to its Chinese pronounciation"糖葫芦“. Just exactly like "lamen" and ”ラーメン“ in japanese. So everytime when I see "korean tanghulu" I feel kind of weird. I wonder if koreans do not feel strange when they constantly publicize a so called ”korean food" with the others by using a Chinese word? On the other hand, if one day they invent a "korean lamen " then spread out I'm c really looking forward to see the huge amount of people to stand out and state for Japan.😃

I love how the Indian woman mentioned how most of the street foods served reminded her of Indian street foods. It was informative and just shows how many other street foods they could have chosen from.

Is talking with food in your mouth not that frowned upon in some asian cultures? Where I grew up and come from this is like an instant no-go and perceived as really rude and bad table manners. I noticed it happening a couple times so I'm wondering if I'm just lowkey exposing someone here for poor manners on accident or if it's just a culture thing.

Traditionally, talking while eating was considered a bad habit. Even right now old households where there are old people, it is still considered a bad habit, and it's very quiet when the family eats together. Nowadays people do talk while eating, but they cover their mouths with their hands.

As a promotional video, I hope you can do more detailed research and respect the food culture of other countries, rather than relying on subjective assumptions. Don't talk nonsense without evidence, it will have a bad effect on the audience. I want you to take responsibility for your videos. That’s not good.

OMG here we go again😒. Tanghulu is a Chinese street food. Idk why that Korean girl was like Korean style, like? Also many many years ago there are already fruit tanghulu and many other varieties in china. That Chinese girl saying there is only one type of fruit used in tanghulu is baffling to me. Like are u even a real Chinese?

随着时间的推移,糖葫芦的制作方法不断改进,使用的水果种类也越来越多样化,成为了中国传统美食之一😂我是顺着网线来打你嘴巴的😅Isn't it shameful that we all have it on social media? When I first visited Bangkok, you could buy Pad Kra Pao in to-go containers at the bottom of the stairs to the Bangkok Sky Train during the morning commute. The portion was for Thais, so it was a bit small for me. But for under $1/each, I got two or three. Thai street food is so good and so cheap!
