People Love at Their Level of Consciousness

Why am I so attached to having people who abandoned me in my life?
Kim helps the questioner get in touch with her anger so she can see that each person is only able to love at their level of consciousness. She highlights that the work of awakening involves recognizing the old narratives that have shaped our lives.

How do you personally evaluate bravery? Keep in mind she was at an event where everyone is there to see Kim and Eckhart. There are many people there with wounds that they want help in addressing and healing. So, she's in a welcoming environment; therefore she was not standing up "in public". The people there are not a random selection, they're people who are all there for the same thing that the woman is there for. I often see bravery in terms of the courage one brings to entrenched oppositional forces. Why do you say the woman was brave? Incidentally, once one has become competent in one's second language, it is not difficult to speak it; a tautology, I know, but I had to point out this plain fact. The woman was a competent speaker of English.

Finding true love begins with Loving yourself. You must know that you are whole, complete and do not need another human being to complete you. Then you will recognize and attract people who are vibrating at the same frequency. Your life is a mirror. You will only attract that which you are on the inside. Love attracts love. Two halves will never make a whole. You attract your soulmate by becoming your soulmate.

On the note of loving at one's level of consciousness. Most of us are so eager to get into a solid relationship that we do not take the time to get to learn the level of communication needed to make a union work. Everything is usually good for 6 months but what about 2 years? Relationships are challenging at best. My advice is to take time in the beginning without sex to learn what you are getting into. Sex attaches most people too quickly. All the above comes from all the mistakes I made. Sorry to jump in here...ok...I'm gone now.

People love you with what they can give you, it's their love tank which is full at their level of consciousness - the capacity of their love tank. You may expect more/less and feel disappointed/angry, but how people love you does not change your value - you're loveable and can manifest self love as much as you can/want to fill in your love tank.

This is what I have realized and accepted lately: that my parents are war-children who experienced war in the very delicate ages of 12 and 5 years op and 5 years up: my dad in Amsterdam in a jewish part of town with his parents just trying to save their young family, my mom in a village near the coast, with german soldiers all around. This MADE them, formed them. I cannot even fathom what that must have been like. But seeing them as these children in WW2 made me mellow out my feelings about their parental qualities and have me step out of the blame-game.

My (ex)girlfriend broke up with me 3 days ago. I found myself thinking that I accepted her with her flaws, but she was too judgemental with mine. The truth is that I didn't accept her as I thought. I expected her to be there for me,to spend more time with me etc. If I had accepted that she loves at her level of consiousness, she acts according to her mind and doesn't mean that I'm unlovable or unworthy ,things would have been much easier. At least I accept this now. Thank you Eckhart and Kim,you made the healing process 10 times easier and faster!

Thank you! For the record,we talked again and told each other thank you for all the good times and the valuable lessons. We will go out for coffee in a few days propably,we both agreed. The most important thing is that I no longer seek my happiness in her. I'm fine with whatever happens and the right thing will arise in the moment. Also people that "hurt" you,are your greatest mirror to see your flaws. For example, she didn't accept me (which is just my thought not the objective truth) cause in fact I didn't accept myself and therefore saw the same thing in everyone else.

The last and hardest hurdle once awakened is forgiving ourself. I have become detached from all . Even with my children a sense of freedom has been discovered. When we allow ourselves to be beaten down, abused, and used is beyond gut wrenching. Especially from those who we expect to love us unconditionally. This video is so true! someone can only meet you as much as they have met themselves. Knowing this has set me free! All are coming to teach us to go within, that place I call home/God. greatest and most important love of all is self love. It is then we are able to show up whole for another .

I suspect that this girl is very clingy and needy - though I have only her plea to go by - thus setting up a poor dynamic for the exchange of love. Seeking constant validation and expecting to receive it in the manner you have imagined is a recipe for disappointment. Real love isn't a hallmark card, gooey song lyrics or constant validation by the one you are seeking affection from. If you have to have validation to feel loved then you lack trust and will constantly manipulate to receive that validation eventually over time driving away the very thing you seek.

I learned this through studying the I Ching. I was so triggered and unhappy that my husband wouldn’t show me love in the ways I wanted to be loved. So I kept consulting the I Ching and the readings summed up to the main message of this video. I have accepted him how he is, and I am there for him in the ways he appreciates. Now his attitude has shifted and is more considerate of how I want him to be there for me. I guess we really do get what we give sometimes.

Being unloved by a dad causes a deep anger, which is a protective energy, protecting the soft vunerability inside...this causes others to feel that anger and back off, because the red hot anger is the first thing people feel in her energy field. This is a live energy read from a clairvoyant healer. The energy must be released with gace and forgiveness.

I think it’s incorrect to assume the father loves her at his level of consciousness. That may be true, but he also may simply not care. At the extreme levels of abuse, he could be intentionally hurting her. I wish more spiritual teachers would take into account situations such as these.

  • @rubyreduxx

You are not wrong. But I think you’re misunderstanding what spiritual teachers are trying to help people with when dealing with this type of upbringing. When an abusive parent is no longer in your life physically all the emotional damage still remains, what do you do with it? Unfortunately as awakened individuals we are the ones that have to deal with this and process it so future generations don’t have to go through all that generational pain. And unfortunately that’s just the way it is, punishing, blaming someone even when we’re in the right doesn’t change the pain that’s been done to us. We must transmute

God bless that young woman. I hope she realizes how very special and beautiful she is! Feel the pain, grieve the loss, but don't let it define you. It defines them! I grew up much the same. I knew on some level it wasn't my fault but not for a long time. I'm 64-years-old, and parents are long gone, and it still hurts sometimes. I think if it doesn't, you're not human or you have no heart. Both my parents were divorced, alcoholics and distant. Most of the time literally distant. I lived with different family members from age 11 years. The hard part was when dad started second family and gave them everything I was denied.. I loved my mother dearly no matter what, even tho I didn't know where she was a lot of the time. It is a horrible thing to feel that if your own mother (bipolar) and father don't love or want you, not only do you feel unloved, but unlovable. Anyway, in time I realized my mother loved me as much as she was capable of loving anyone. It wasn't me. Father was regretful but we couldn't heal that.

Your value is your value regardless of your father or best friend seeing that. You deserve to be here even if they don’t love you. Take what they give, not what you’re missing or what you think they should give you. They can only give you what they can afford to give, hence loving at their level of consciousness.

sometimes its very sticky when a lot of the stored up pain happened because a false belief.. often formed from the upsetting event/s. A catch 22 because the belief keeps it stored up inside you. Mine was that I wasnt loved by my own parents. Whatever the causes were of that belief were, it effectively made me unable to open up to their unconditional love for me. I then started to build up anger over nearly 25 years in my unconcious mind, that manifested at resenting my own mother and father for not understanding me, when in fact I could not even see that they couldn't as I had never even allowed them in as a child. Once I started to understand that it was me that I was angry at not anybody else, the healing process began and I learned that I needed to just forgive myself for holding onto all that pain, as I didn't know what was happening to me at the time. When I did this it all came out. It took about 6 months and buckets of tears later, I am free of alot of toxic energy that I was carrying inside me. Healing the inner child is the gateway, one has to be willing to go inside and above all get out of your own way, and feel.

I have done some deep searching and reading and meditation in order to breakeady from those feelings of guilt and sadness and resentment and angry... what Kim said was so helpful. I never really allowed myself to feel any of these emotions because I was so much more concerned with being the “bigger person” or for the sake of “not looking crazy”. Looking back I wish I would’ve allowed myself to feel more and think less. My thinking has become out of my control. All the girl has to do is to allow herself to feel the deep sadness that exists in her. Being vulnerable. Being sad. Allowing it to be there and accepting it fully will transcend it. It's Trapped Energy in her Body she refuses to feel. If she just felt it, her consciousness/energy would raise and her dad would be back in her life. EMDR does this releasing.....

Thank you for confirmation of my need to deal with my feelings in any situation where I might be triggered by the behaviors of others. I left a longtime dysfunctional relationship 13 months ago, with the aid of an EMDR therapist. The therapy helped me to SEE my part in the dysfunction. I was able to thank the Ex for his ongoing negative behaviors which had created the pain of the relationship which, in turn, drove me to seek help. I am now able to recognize when I am the one who must love me/give me the validation I’ve wanted from others, including the Ex. I am grateful for the question from the young woman in this video. Like she, I struggled with wanting my father’s love, which he was unable to give in the way my child-self needed/desired. I still have habitual thoughts which take me out of NOW and I can better recognize them, which is progress. Blessings!❤️

Love and hatred are both sides of the same coin. Basically, their underlying nature is the same. Attachment and non-attachment, abandoning and non-abandoning are also like so. Practicing detachment, but also don't cling to abandonment. Abandon also the idea of abandonment. When you are not attached to the idea of abandonment, there will be no issue. If you don't seek something, you will not be disappointed. The rain noise may be loud, but they rarely irritate us because we have no pre-conceived idea or desire that they have to sound nice. Reality is void of duality. Duality only arise in our discrimination. Discrimination arises from our thought. Our thought is no different from the rain noise. Both arises from causes and conditions. If you treat your thought like the rain noise, there will be no issue. It is neither good nor bad, loving or hatred, attach nor non-attach. These concept or judgement is an additional layer which we overlay upon and often causes our suffering and distress.

I really like that concept and it is very helpful. For example I feel that I am extremely conscious and enlightened to the point that I love my sister and parents so much that I don’t even need to be physically near them to feel connected and together all of the time ... from across a country I love them as though they’re with me! All of the time! ... my sister doesn’t understand this. I think it is just that her level of consciousness is different than mine and she loves me only at the level of consciousness that she is capable of (with a lot of anger, sadness and resentment that I do not live physical close to her now).

I love this, we all handle things differently. I have a "good friend" who, in 20 years, never came to visit me. I went to visit her and her family numerous times. She always promised she would come. Twenty years later when I mentioned it her response was, " Oh well, sometimes that's just the way things go..." I was stunned of course this was on the phone. Since that time I found myself being angry every time I cleaned the cat litter box in the morning. Love the metaphor of dealing with crap. It was hurting me not her. It took that realization and awareness in order for me to realize what I was doing to myself that it didn't feel good and I was adding to my not feeling good. We last spoke in July. She is retired now but still has not made an effort to even come for a long weekend or short weekend...It does still piss me off when I think of her telling me that if I get in the car and drive at 6 in the morning I can be there 6 at night. I did that a few times. I have NO FEELINGS for her now. NONE it will be hard next time to see her differently. We Virgos don't forgive that easily when it is not sincere.

Many believe our memories are stored in our brain but they are also in our cellular structure so memories, beliefs, etc..."templates" are passed through our DNA so unless we awaken and discover Universal Truth we blindly believe that what our ancestors experienced is ours

This is so meaningful to me, but also so painful. We all have issues, so I am not saying that I don't, but my daughter has huge anger stuff that is taken out on me in some horrific ways. She seems to have passed this to her children and now she even has a grandchild. I can't even explain the pain of not having my family. Sometimes in trying to deal with this I feel like I am going crazy and just want the pain to stop. I understand that is all egoic, but it is also my family and I want them in my life. It is hard going through the pain because the situation never changes. It gets worse, so there is always more pain. I understand what is being said, and I am trying to work with it. The thing in this video that almost made me laugh was her talking about the need to just "jump" and what it is like standing on the edge. It is like I have been intuitively ritualizing this and that need to literally "jump." Recently at a local carnival I decided I needed to jump as part of a stunt jump activity, so I had to jump out into nothingness. After I did that I had to do the zip line- so even though in a harness I had to step out into nothingness. It is like I am being drawn toward what I need to do. I'm also almost 63 years old so I look really strange doing this stuff, but I've felt I had to do it. Maybe there is hope for me yet.

What a sweet girl. You can see how long she have tried to be strong and not to blame her father and best friend thats why she still loves them but just cant accept it is what it is. Ofcourse it is hard to accept the people whom you think would love you the most, don't. She probably feels betrayed. I have been there, not at the same situation with her but sometime i get annoyed at people, not to the anger stage yet and i too feel really bad, because i was nothing but gentle. So when we thinks bad of ourselves its really hard to love ourselves and when we don't love ourselves we cant love others either, hence the anger she is expressing. I really hope she will over come it and hopefully can find love again easing the pain she is feeling inside :( BEING ANGRY IS A SCARY PLACEEE

The feeling of abandonment comes to mind with this young lady, we have an expectation that those closest to us will support us and when they don't, where do we go? I suspect after her question she will have support from those around her in the room, abandonment is in its self, a structure, some will go straight pass the structure and not see its beauty and some have the capability to embrace and rebuild the structure, her farther and best friend just don't have the materials to rebuild the structure but may come to embrace the work of others, I hope so :)

Once again, synchronicity. I literally was speaking of this almost verbatim today. This is VERY helpful. Sometimes, I feel an attachment about being that "one" that is awakening for all my family and so on. Like being special helps me get through the hard days. I also see that that belief also is what causes the most suffering.....I am aware of it, so I am working with it. Anyone else encounter that?
