I didn't have pets either so. . . I always went to the park and played with the pet owner's dogs. . .painful experience. They didn't bite or anything. . .they just like to jump a lot and on me :/ worth it though.

Same...I have 2 adult cats that I had from kittens & I would not trade them for anything...it also irked me that they kept bringing up "cats are cranky, but kittens are great" - cats are only cranky if you're being an ass & trying to force yourself or your will on them. You wouldn't want someone ignoring all your body language & verbal cues that you want to be left alone, so why do you do it to animals? Instead of owning "I was being a jerk & kept messing with the cat when the cat said enough", it's "oh the cat is a jerk, it's cranky" Get fucked.

Agreed, I actually think cats are easier to take care of because they're less destructive.

I think the big issue with some people is the fact they try to treat the cat like a dog. They think the cat will want to snuggle all the time and wanna be with you 24/7 but that isn’t the case with most cats. Cats need alone time and are independent creatures. They will snuggle when they want and will let you pick them up if they’re in the mood. Cats and dogs are NOT the same animal and therefore have generally completely different attitudes. EDIT: Wow y'all are still replying. Also a side note, even after two years that dude with the black kitten is still annoying the heck out of me.

People don't know how to read their body language too. Like when a cat is just hanging out around you but not all up on you, that's like...chill bro time, just two friends relaxing together without being in each other's bubble. My cat, whom I've had since she was a 3 month old kitten (she's now 13) loves me so much and greets me so excitedly when I come home, but she still needs her space and places to hide sometimes. I think cats are slightly more like people that way, whereas dogs tend to be friendlier or more involved. It doesn't mean dogs love you more or that cats love you less. When my baby gives me a slow blink, it's a kitty kiss and it makes me feel so special and important.

without always having physical contact, ummm, my cat didn't get that memo. she is literally glued to me all day unless she's sunbathing, she climbs on me anytime I sit or lay down, she sleeps on my butt at night, but being housebound with chronic illnesses I really appreciate it, I'm glad she just wants to be near me all day

I didn’t like cats for 22 years of my life just because I hadn’t had any interaction with them. Then I adopted a 3 months old stray kitten and she changed my whole life for the better! :) What I learned is cats and dogs are definitely not same and they’re both amazing in their own precious ways ♥️

Dogs are simply more social creatures- *extroverts*, if you will. They are pack animals, and naturally like people, because they seem them as dominant, and part of their pack. Cats tend to be more solitary, and need interaction less, or at least usually with less people- so tend to be more *introverted*.

So true!! I rescued a cat about 7 years ago and I only started feeling like she had given her full self to me this year. She started purring, sitting by my side for hours, licking me and such only very recently and it's definitely one of the best feelings. I feel like I've finally gained her trust and love :)

Not necessarily true...I adopted two kittens last year, and one didn't really bond with me at all until very recently. What made this hard was that the other kitten passed away, so it hurt a lot when I wanted to pick up the surviving kitten and she'd start flailing around, since she hated being held while the one I lost was a snuggler.

I've never held one because I'm really allergic to them. Plus I've never seen one too. I know people who have cats but not kittens. If I did see one I couldn't touch it because of my severe allergies.

Tbh even if you do hold them correctly some of them still hate it. I think it depends on the cat, mine doesn’t mind being held but if you hold him for over 20 seconds he starts to fidget and wants down, kinda like a toddler lol

God I don't know why people think cats are rude it's the way the owners raise them. If the cat was abandoned it will not be open and loving because it is scared you will abandon or abuse them. If you are nice and love your cat they will love you back.

People think cats are rude because they in a certain sense, they are. Cats don't want/need human interaction. They're very independent and aloof creatures. I am aware that each cat is different, and each cat has it's own personality but their natures usually remain the same. Some cats are definitely more affectionate than others, but they always search affection on THEIR terms. It's always on the cats terms. That's why people see them as rude. As much as we have domesticated them, there's still a part that remains wild within a cat. They simply just don't need us lol. But, doesn't mean we don't try to force our love onto them ;D

Of the cats I've had, only one was what can be described as "cat like" (the rest were pretty dog like). He could be really affectionate, but didn't want to be bothered unless he wanted to be bothered. Even then, I never thought of him as rude or mean.

I think it's because cats are super independent, and a lot of people want/expect a pet that needs their companionship and attention all the time. Dogs are pack animals, so they will give all their affection to their owner from the very start. Cats are not predisposed to need others, therefore you need to explicitly spend lots of time with them to get them to trust you, and even then they won't always be super clingy and affectionate like dogs(although mine are, haha). People often misinterpret this as them being a jerk, but they're kinda more like introverted humans, where dogs are like extroverted humans.

100% not true. My cats are always all over me trying to get me to pet them and are very affectionate. Like the person said, it depends on how they are raised and treated. I got my cats as very young kittens and spoiled them with love, which is probably why they adore me also. You have to treat cats with love & respect and they will love and respect you back, much like humans.

There's like one kitten, the rest are big.

It hurts, when a cat ignores you, but if they then come to you it feels really great. That's the difference between dogs and cats. Cats decide, when they want to get attention and be petted.

We have a real & serious problem with humans not buying a puppy or kitten, but then when it grows up they toss it out like trash. While there are good people, there are too many selfish and cruel humans out there that have no business, more than I think you seem to be aware of. And it's a common comment made by such people that they treat the animal as a toy that they only care about when they are a baby.

Lilly Dee spot on. I had kittens from birth three times. I raised them into adulthood and kept them for their entire lifetimes. I couldn’t bear to dump my precious sacred cottons anywhere. I cant stand human kids because they r annoying as babies n grow up to b priveledged, spoiled bastards many times. I avoid them. But cats - once u give me a cat, if at all possible, im its forever home. No questions asked.

I actually prefer to adopt adult cats. You already know what those cats are like. My female was one year old when i got her. My cats are now 10 and 8 and they are the World to me. They still play like kittens. They crack me up all the time.

Black kitten was the MVP of this video, for having the patience of a saint and it was also the cutest. With cats and kittens, they need time to get to know a person and an environment before they let their guard down. They seemed to have expectations, then held that against the kittens for not conforming. I know this is their first time meeting a kitten, but it was so awkward watching them try to hold them and not knowing how to play with them. Surely someone could have demonstrated the proper techniques.

If your cat is 'wiggling', it either doesn't want to be held or you're holding it wrong.

I don't think people in the comments know kittens, the black one is a very young kitten but the bigger ones are just older kittens which would still be considered a kitten. (I said kittens way too many times in this comment) they might just be eight months old. Cats are considered grown cat when they're about 1-2 years old

I was never really a cat person, then my friends adopted a pregnant cat and when she had the babies I fell in love. My little boy’s almost 1 now and I dont know what I’d do without our daily cuddles.

I went from being a dog person to being a full on cat dad with two beautiful growing boys (currently both 5 months old)! cats are such wonderful, loving, laid back pets. I still understand why people love dogs and I still love dogs, but I don’t think I’ll ever own a dog now. I just need more cats in my life.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. I have never encountered a dog I wanted to be in the same room with. They are loud and aggressive and unpleasant in countless ways. I'm sure there are probably exceptions somewhere out there, but I am constantly annoyed by neighbors' dogs and never by their cats.

Nope. I'm definitely a cat person and I despite dogs more than anything. They're disgusting, annoying, overly needy, can't be left alone, destructive, loud, and at times a menace to society. The world would be much better off without dogs in it. I hate dogs. I hate hate, freaking hate dogs.

You just seem to not understand dogs. Hate is a bit harsh. People always say that about cats, and it's ridiculous. Cats just have different social cues. They know they're potentially prey to a human. How many human's would walk right up to a bear they see in the wild and be all "LET'S BE BEST FRIENDS OMG!" Cats need to be show that a person isn't going to hurt them before they become affectionate.

It depends on how you handle the cat and if it's a barn cat too. Usually barn cats won't let you pet or hold them period. People just make up excuses

I once had a kitten curl up on my lap and fall asleep for a whole hour... It was one of the most beautiful moments of my life! ^w^

That black kitten is the most patient cat I have ever witnessed in my life, and I've had 7 very different cats throughout my life.

I'm actually cuddling my kitten while watching this 🥰

@G Beckerig I was clearly not talking about you, since you don't hate either....I heard people say many times to that they love dogs but hate cats. I don't hate any animal, may be having more suitable circumstances for a cat for instance, but simply because I would not be able to provide for a dog properly. However, I love them all.

My one cat is a sweetheart. Whenever I laying down on the couch watching tv, he will climb on me, flop down on my stomach and purr. Also when I got the news about my grandmother’s passing he immediately came up to me and tried to lick my tears away. I love him with all my heart and he shows his love and loyalty for me every single day! Everybody should have a cat in their lives.

This reminds me of my friend who had never liked cats until one day we came across a really affectionate stray. She fell in love and was patting him until he started purring. She froze, looked at me with huge scared eyes and asked me, "WHY IS HE GROWLING?" 10000% true story. Will never forget how hard I laughed!

Most cats don’t just love any random person, so I love it when a cat chooses to sit on your lap or chooses to let you pet them. It means they actually take an interest in you and really want you to be with them. If a cat were to sit on my lap and didn’t feel like getting up after two minutes, I would feel like the luckiest person in all the world. I seriously wish I had a cat.

Buzzfeed was cool with her being in another series, and they even put the video featuring her on the FRONG of buzzfeeds page to give it more clicks... and then went back and fired her. Completely hypocritical. I've also heard that the clause in her contract they used to fire her is one they rarely every use and they regularly don't care if people do other content.
