Note that due to the crop factor (same thing as with APS-C cameras but in reverse), the 35mm lens appears the same as a 21mm does on "full frame"/35mm film. You probably know that but didn't mention it in the video, saying it more for people considering cameras like this or certain ebay listings with specific lenses. Crop factor is 0.62x for 645 format, multiply all focal lengths by that for their equivalent looks in 35mm film. The apparent background blur also increases by about 2 stops' worth, so a f/3.5 has an amout of blur that looks more like f/1.8 would on full frame. If you do consider another lens, I recommend the 45-85mm zoom (equivalent of 28-53mm)

Hey Gavin, thank you for that info! I actually didnt know that about the 35mm conversion. Ill take a look at the 45-85mm but right now super content with this lens.

One day I should let you shoot my modded Leica Summicron 90 for the 645.Butter. I've had my 645n for like 6 years now and it's still kickin strong. These things are workhorses.

oh sick, that would be cool.thats exactly why i was stoked to grab one. super sharp, reliable and plenty of them made so parts, backs etc are easy to pick up.

Love my 645n. Batteries last forever it seems (ikea rechargeable for everything)

nice! yeah the 645n is a very popular camera. I just take my batteries out of the camera when not in use. I have some Power Owls.

@@SeanJorgensen The Pentax 645 is infamous for the battery compartment breaking long before other things. Taking the batteries out all the time really wears and tears it. You should avoid doing this unless you're not going to be using it for months or something.

You can never have enough cameras. You wanna buy another one?
