His signature move; it's called celloboxing and when the band was started they needed a beatboxer, found Kevin through a video of him celloboxing and he joined them.

The way Kirstie immerses herself in a song really makes you believe her. "Somebody that I Used to Know" is another fine example.

Yes this is my 2nd favorite (I have some sort of nostalgic pull when I listen to Hallelujah so it's slightly inexplicably my favorite). The arrangement, the video.. everything. Also Avi, also Kirsten's real lips :D

BTW. Kirsten’s emotional connection to this is beautiful. Her voice is always stellar and so complementary of everything being done.

the way they all express themselves so differently while singing yet correspond so well with each other always amazes me. to me, for example, the situation that the song speaks of could be a love story where the relationship is threatened when one of the people is close to leaving the other person. Mitch's facial expressions make me think of the daze and confusion the person being left in the relationship would be feeling. Scott represents the hopelessness Kevin represents the stoic, brave face that one might try to put on to cover all of the pain Avi represents the anger and frustration and Kirstie, not only is she representing the pain felt, but also is placed in the center of the scene, making it appear as if she is the embodiment of all the other emotions and she's fighting with all of her feelings.

Kirstie is absolutely amazing! The beat boxing, the vocals of everyone!!!!! Out of this world! One of my favourite Pentatonix performances!! Incredible 💖

I believe that their expressions represent the five stages of greif. Kirstie's expression represents depression. Kevin represents the bravery that comes with acceptance. Avi is anger. Mitch is denial. Finally Scott is bargaining. I also believe that the objects surrounding them represent stuff too. The lamp represents the light felt inside of one's self after acceptance. The empty picture frames represent the emptiness one feels while dealing with grief. The flowers represent the flowers at a funeral (probably). The ladders may represent going to a better place (heaven) or, they could represent the attempt to fix oneself after loss (trying to move on before grief really sets in.) All of these items together may represent the disorganization in ones mind after loss. Just a theory though. Thanks for reading.

I think every song that they sing in makes the extra powerful because you rarely get to hear them sing and it's like hearing their voices for the first time again. it breathtaking and I get shivers every time. that harmony at the last minute of the song killed me with expectation and just how fucking good it sounded. love ptx!

Say something..... Brings me back to the day my son died. I listened to this song for 3 hours on repeat while I listened his heartbeat. He donated his heart to another person later in the day. It was a moment in my life that I will never forget. Three of the operations where a success. So his last hat trick, extended the lives of 3 people. I can’t wait to Say Something to those recipients someday.

I was a marine recruit in 2014 and I had just found this song about a month or two before I shipped to Parris Island. Listened to it religiously during my workouts and running. Got me through a lot of tough workouts to prepare me for boot camp. Fast forward and 3 weeks after shipping I fractured my wrist and had to stay an extra 3 months in the broke platoon wearing a cast. There were some very dark and low points there for a while. There’s just no other way to say it except it fucking sucked. Seeing all your bros you went to boot camp with graduating and you’re there in limbo stuck just blows (I went back to training and graduated but that’s a story for another time.) Anyway, a lot of things kept me going but remembering the goosebumps I got from listening to this song made a lot of tough nights just a little better. When I finally did graduate and got my phone (marine recruits weren’t allowed to have your cell phone in recruit training. I know it’s different now) this song was one of the first things I listened to and it brought me to tears because I realized I finally made it. I became a marine and this song and the memory of it gave me a lot of motivation to push through the tough times. I went on to have a pretty good 5 year career, became a sergeant, got my aircrew wings and did a lot cool shit so thank you pentatonix. This song means more to me than I can put into words.

Of course her mid and high ranges are crystal clear...but pay attention to her gorgeous rich *low* end ugh...at one point she drops with _Avi!_ 😨🎼🎶💪👍 And she's so damn pretty in it... 😍😭💞 (oh and btw...look at *you* just cute as a bug yourself, too!) 😊😍💞😅🙊

This song makes me tear up almost every time. Kevin's beatbox/chello skills are phenomenal, and Avi kills his part, but Kirstie blows me away. She pours so much heart into this song, and really shows off how inhuman her vocal range is. When she hits that 3:40 to 4:20 section my heart stops every single time. I really wish she would solo more.

+SQUEAK I'm with you 100%. I looked in the comments of this video to see if there were any responses on her actual performance. More people had something to say about Avi's or Kevin's voices than about hers, when it's HER solo. Reminds me how overlooked she really is in the group. Her appearance is kind of the only thing she really gets acknowledged for, and that's a shame because she is every bit as talented and valuable to the group. Just frustrating :(

SQUEAK I suppose it's because her gifts aren't immediately shocking or noteworthy like the others (Mitch has a very high voice, Avi a very low voice, Scott has a lot of soul, Kevin is amazing at a million things). With all that going on, I suppose it would be easy to overlook her talents, but she's so important and I just feel so bad for her being so ignored. She has an amazing range, incredible belting power, vocal stamina and she's super emotive when she sings. I think of her like a vocal chameleon: her voice can blend to anyone else's or can mimic anyone else's style. I just hope someday people can see her talent... :(
