Penn & Teller - The Invisible Thread
Ойын-сауық
1987 short film starring Penn and Teller, directed by 'Russel Dalrymple' himself, Bob Balaban. Aired on Showtime, same network that would bring us 'Penn & Teller: Bullshit!' about sixteen years later.
I try not to upload stuff that's already out there.
After I uploaded this, I noticed that somebody else already had, as well.
However, their upload is in parts, so I figure, this isn't exactly the same, and in cases like this, having two different ways to watch the videos might be convenient... or something. Maybe some people without a lot of time prefer videos in pieces, and some people with more time want to watch the whole thing at once?
Or something...
So, yeah, here's the upload from December 2009, originally brought to you by user secretSociety40:

21:17 - "EAT the goddamn sandwich." The line every parent needs to use when their fussy kid refuses to finish their lunch.

If something is only good when you're high, it mustn't be very good.
I NEVER would have predicted where the hell this would go. Wild.
This was my favorite movie when it aired. It still might be.
Loved towards the end when Penn used the famous phrase from the 1951 sci-fi movie "The day the earth stood still" an much later on "Army of Darkness" among others. Klaatu Barada Nicto!! PraGort.
Teller is really cute I mean he's older than my dad but still he's cute.

No problem! If I have/find any more, I'll definitely upload them.

Do you have the talk show, A Closer Look with Faith Daniels from 1990 or 1991? It had Penn & Teller and Harry Blackstone Jr. on it. I've been trying to find it; i hope it's not a Nelson Mandela Effect experience I had. I know Don't Try This at Home was real because it's on this site. i'm also looking for the Geraldo! episode, Penn & Teller: Bad Boys of the Magic World.
I like how Penn spouted every magician's cliche in the book as the fast talking magical hustler in this movie, such as "they're not tricks, they're illusions," "is that your card" and "magicians for all occasions." I think I counted at least 10 magicians cliches, and they weren't very believable when he said them, either. LOL
Thanks man, don't think this was ever aired in the UK. Hit the spot
Thank you for uploading this. I still have my personal recorded copy on vhs. It's a real pretty thing Wally, a real pretty thing.

JPDillon, You may enjoy "Parents" Directed by Bob Balaban. With Randy Quaid, Mary Beth Hurt, and Sandy Dennis.
Leave it to Penn and Teller to tell a story that's more interesting than any magic trick
Until two years ago I didn't know that teller could talk
This is the best. The director should be in Hollywood.

Wow compared to more recent stuff, Penn's voice sounded very different back then compared to now. Teller on the other hand sounds exactly the same.
I remember watching this as a little kid...and not quite understanding the humor. Much funnier now as an adult. Thank you for posting! It brought back memories.
YOU GUYS JUST RIPPED ME OFF!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Oh the nostalgia

Selma Diamond FTW!

I'm guessing the work with Run DMC made that possible. Whodini...far more appropriate in terms of name.
Man, the video quality really is showing its age. It's very difficult to read anything in this movie. It's a shame there likely isn't going to be a higher quality version.
Penn has changed sooooo much.
Hey JoeDeceiver, thanks for uploading this to KZread! I'm watching it right now. It's really great to see people uploading this stuff. I was already subscribed so that's the reason for the quick reaction.
"We have a human right not to watch MAGIC TRICKS!!!"
This shit is gold.
this was just awesome !!
Totally! He also has a brief cameo in their movie 'Penn & Teller Get Killed', as an audience participant in their Trump Plaza performance. Coincidentally, Randi's appearance in that movie is also around the 17minutes 20seconds mark.
This both is kind of wholesome and seems to be filmed and written on hard drugs.
Also, having two versions available means twice the chance of people finding it.☺ (btw, all in one part is best, have a sub)
the last demonstration of the invisible thread was epic!!!!
Wow, this short film came out the same year I was born. Whaaaaaaat!?
Andy frickin Warhol!
These guys would've been great in a Ghostbusters movie. They could've played brothers to Peter Venkman or Ray Stantz!
Wait... Is that Andy Warhol? Wait... Is that Lydia Lunch? WAIT? Are those "The Residents"?!?!?
G. Gordon Liddy!
Cool... Andy Warhol, the old rap group Whodini, and James Randi(the skeptic who now debunks myths and fairy tales)... P.S. Oh, and lets not forget Florence Stanley who played “Bernice Fish” the wife of "Phil Fish"(Abe Vigoda) ᵔᴥᵔ ★★★★★ Katalyzt
Harry Blackstone Jr. tribute at 26:36. He's mentioned at the beginning along with Copperfield, too.

The only thing that grew older on Randi is his fucking eyebrows, is he immortal or something?
18:01, am I looking at Dick Cavett and G Gordon Liddy?

This is good. They're using the god numbers. 17 to 140.
I love P&T but this whole thing is creepy
wtf did I just watch lmao
Night Mares. I just find intertaning.
love reading "what's with the 3 club" they claim to original be a three man group, club. it's predictable, as long as card force is worked you can do a whole lot if the end goal is the same everytime. I can't speak for them but that's what I think. I do think Penn would say something like Fuck you that's why but I dunno.
i love that lady 26:32
17:19 - is that Randi?
This guy sure does talk a lot.
Andy Warhol was in there too
Spock was not a blowhard.
Penn is terrible at pretending to be on the phone, it sounded like the person on the other end barely got a word in.

Invisible Thread, Must be the stuff used for The Emperors New Clothes, Real Light and Airy. I first saw this on Showtime when it came out, They were really young back then. I was 11. Well Not exactly Wally, He Told you They sell secrets, He told you the Secret So I'd say you got your money's worth. Invisible thread does have all the Secrets. Well Maybe not, if she lives to see . Aw, Oh well She almost made it, She died in 2003. Wow the SHOWTIME Watermark has changed a lot since 87. Hey Karen, why don't you just do as the nice magicians ask? Well I guess we can see where MAGA came from. And this was back when Reagan was President. I don't break a leg, I bust a tail, and I never Fail. Teller Talked. The man who takes The Term Silent Partner to the extreme. Aw Teller you disappoint me Your suppose to stick your thumb out when Doing 🖖. And of course a Ryan was connected to this, We're Everywhere.
