Scott Kahn, M.D. is an award-winning North Carolina-based close-up magician who has been performing magic for over 35 years.
Scott was born and raised on Long Island, where his interest in the magical arts began early in life at the age of eight. Throughout his college years, he regularly performed magic in many popular comedy clubs, including Governor’s and McGuire’s.
In 1999, Scott was awarded First Place in Close-Up Magic at the prestigious Magic & Fun Close-Up Magic Convention.
His original sleight-of-hand card effects have been published in both Genii, The Conjuror’s Magazine and MAGIC, the two largest publications for magicians in the world.
In 2015, he debuted "Kahnjuring: Deceptive Practices with Playing Cards," his first full-length book on card magic. His second book, "Kahnceptual Card Magic: More Deceptive Practices with Playing Cards," followed in 2017 to critical acclaim. His latest book, "Swindles, Scams & Kahns: Further Deceptive Practices with Playing Cards," was published in 2022.
In 2022, Scott made his national television debut on Season 8 of The CW series Penn & Teller: Fool Us.
Dr. Kahn is also an AAFP board-certified family medicine physician practicing in Clayton, North Carolina.

I love how so many of these magicians have shaking hands during the trick. They're wobbling around, they're clearly nervous. But the moment they need to manipulate the cards at all? Smooth, practiced precision, the kind you only get through true muscle memory.

Best thing about FU, IMO. Also, the magicians are screened, and it's the talented ones that get to go up there and perform, whereas XFactor etc, at least in the early stages, it's anybody's game, and that leaves more room for ridicule both from the judges and audiences alike

My favorite part about this show is that even the tricks that "fail" are still wonderfully performed tricks, and Penn, Teller, and all the guests are always such great sports about it. Very cleanly and smoothly done trick, Dr Kahn, and I strongly applaud anyone who dares to do a close-up magic trick right in front of P&T (I would have been shaking hands or voice from nerves alone). I've learned from watching them that anytime a magician retouches a deck of cards, you should almost always be suspicious of them. Still, very well done!
