Penn State vs Michigan 1995 GAME STORY

Спорт

It was the legendary game late in 1995 that was played between the snow hedges, by two powerhouses which was only made possible because of the work of local inmates helping to shovel Beaver Stadium! It featured big time football and the famous incident where a Michigan wide receiver got hit in the face with a snowball thrown by a fan. For college football fans, the game didn't disappoint. And for the home crowd, the result was satisfying! Heavy blows were exchanged in this one from both teams, and after a scoreless first quarter, the Nittany Lions took the lead in the second, and spent the remainder of the game staying just ahead of the Wolverines. What an atmosphere! What a game!
Penn State Top Performers:
Bobby Engram: 5 catches, 84 yards, 1 TD
Stephen Pitts: 17 carries, 163 yards
Penn State secured its 7th win of the year over Michigan with only two games left in the regular season. The Wolverines dropped to 8-2 with the loss and would finish 1995 with a 9-4 record a bowl loss to Texas A&M in the Alamo Bowl.

It's crazy to think about how much of the '94 offense was back in '95. Since I was pretty young then, I didn't realize it until now.

I can't tell you how many ice-balls were flying around that student section, but sitting on those aluminum seats was DAMN COLD

And they only shoveled the seat, not where your feet would be. I stood the entire game. For the record, I didnt throw any snowballs.

Made my mom drive out from NJ with me to see my first ever college football game. I’m a big Michigan fan and although it wasn’t our day, I’ll never forget how amazing the energy was Is happy valley. The PSU fans were incredible. The stadium was shaking. Everyone was cool and no one heckled the 14 year old kid with a Tyrone Wheatley jersey and his mom. Thankfully!

Until he couldn't...look at the record against Michigan from 98-02, and from 05-07. He was more successful against OSU, I'll grant you, but Cooper and Tressel were WAY more conservative as coaches than Meyer and Day have been. That makes an impact imo.
