Thanks Cons - Will call you this week! (hopefully). Dennis
Always appreciate your videos, Dennis. I got into repairing old reels while recovering from Covid a couple of years ago and I learned a lot from watching you work.

Yes it was. There were a few keepers and a lot of "projects" in the lot I purchased. More to come - Dennis
When it comes to Saltwater Reel you can’t hardly beat a Penn .

That is their niche. They have been making saltwater reels for over 80 years and they know what they are doing - Thanks Bobby - Dennis
Hello Dennis, I received one of these reels from my grandad, it says made in Japan on the bottom but I can’t identify it, are there any videos on how one of these reels work and how to use it? Thanks 🙏

Penn never made the Senator reel in Japan. It is likely that you have a copy of the Penn reel made by Olympic and sold under several brands including Kmart as the Oceanside and Olympic as the Dolphin. It would work similar to the Penn reel, but it is not a Penn Reel - Dennis
Hi Dennis one question i heard transmission fluid has a lubricant that stops rust. Can i use it for the out side of the reel and the guides.

I would not do that. One reason is the smell. The other is that I do not know what else may be in it that could hurt the rod and reel rather than help it. - I would use something like Penn's rod and reel cleaner instead. - Dennis
