We're humans. Our habitat is the whole planet. You wouldn't be doing what this dude did in a forest where there's a bear creeping up to you. Even if he pet the penguin or picked it up. I'm sure the penguin would be just fine. They have no natural land predators so they don't see humans as threats just another big featherless penguin.

Penguins have no natural land predators, so they probably think the two humans are really strange looking penguins.

Loved this! Respecting nature to its finest!! The penguins are so curious! Very enjoyable to watch!

I love all the action and playfulness going on in the distance with the other penguin..wheee!!

this makes me so happy, seeing a person have such a calm aura that made the penguins curiously gravitate towards her is so cuteee!! this is how all towards should act in animals homes, especially ones that are very fragile ecosystems like Antarctica 🇦🇶

It's not allowed for the tourists to feed wild animals since they may develop unnatural behaviors like dependency on humans or aversion probably the former which also not good.

Imagine how weird Antarctica penguins think people are for not ever reacting to them. Imagine if aliens came down to us and openly observed us and communicated to each other but didn't even acknowledge our presence. I think some very minor interaction should be permitted for those lucky enough to have it happen.

I think that those penguins haven't seen humans on their entire lives so for them is like looking at something out of this world...

The trust & curiosity of this species is a rare characteristic of wild creatures. However, since the climate in which they live is so extreme that they are likely to help more than threaten any who they encounter, they’re able to be to be so curious. Treasure their presence, visitors & be as friendly as possible! It’s just si nice to see different species’ coming together! Really, all of us need each other and these types of encounters need to happen more! Great post, whoever’s responsible. Thanks! 👍

Penguins have to try to avoid several predators in the sea: sharks, seals, orcas. But when you've never encountered a predator on land you're just curious.

Did you know? Scientists and technicians spend a lot of time living in Antarctica in tents and sometimes snow vehicles. Back in the early 70s I live at Byrd Station And Robert Tucker snow cat for scientists measuring the depth of the ice. A year later I winners over in McMurdo but lived the comfort Of a barnacles. It was a great experience.
