Thank you so much for the most "detailed" tutorial for knotting pearls I have watched! I love that you use several pearls with knots at each end, to increase durability. Some tutorials I've watched only go back through one pearl and that doesn't seem that it would make the necklace as strong. You are a born instructor. Hugs, M.D.

Great tutorial. I usually find that key steps in any how-to videos are “obscured by fingers” but this is really well set up and zooms in on tricky bits. Thanks!

I inherited a string of pearls from my sister who passed away in 2016, but haven't been able to wear them because they were broken. Thanks to your wonderful tutorial - I have just completed knotting them successfully and can finally wear them.

I've been knotting pearls off and on for several years, usually only once or twice a year. Because I can be forgetful (I'm 76) I always check for a video to remind me of the beginning and ending using french wire. I have to say that this is the best video I've found (and I've watched a bunch!). It's just what I need to kick-start my memory when knotting pearls. Thank you so much.

My grandma was a jeweler and when I was 13 she taught me how to do this. I’m now 29 and when she passed away earlier this year I ended up with one of her broken pearl necklaces, and the idea was that I could fix it to remember her but I realized I needed a refresher. This tutorial is perfect, I’m in the process of re-stringing the necklace right now and soon I’ll be able to wear it!

The absolute best tutorial covering the professional method of stringing & knotting pearls or beads. Every detail is clearly explained as the demo shows each step in the process. No extra chit chat & no missing oversights, just straight to the point. All the essential information is provided, complete from start to finish. It also includes a brief overview of the parts to better understand how the pieces fit together. A comparison of various fresh water pearl types, a description of thread size in relation to diameter of the drilled center, selecting a clasp style, purpose of French wire & special adhesive to secure the end knots. I enjoyed every bit of this well planned presentation & I'll return to purchase supplies. Thank you for sharing your expert knowledge & passion for creating beautiful jewelry!

The best tutorial video I have found for Pearl knotting with a single strand of silk. Very clear instructions and helps that it is so close up so you can see the detail of what you are doing. This technique with the tweezers gives consistent knots right close up to the pearls. I've just tried it to make a bracelet with great results! Easy to do once you get the hang of it. Great instructions for finishing the ends neatly and securely too. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and explaining everything so carefully!

I've just completed my first try at re-stringing my pearls and found your demonstration extremely easy to follow. I am very pleased with the results. I have saved myself a lot of money and I have a better string of pearls because I only discovered recently that they had NOT been knotted by the jewellers (supposedly a professional!) for re-stringing as they were originally. So as you can imagine, I am so glad that they didn't break! Now, thanks to your excellent video I won't have to worry now. Thanks a million!

Although I was apprehensive at first to restring my cultured pearl necklace I was able to to do the job with no problems thanks to you! You made it look easy and it was easy. My only problem was that I first purchased the wrong size thread which went through the pearl, made a nice knot, but then I couldn't backtrack through the pearl again to secure the first half of the clasp. I started with a #6 then used a #4 which was perfect. Thank you again!

The absolute best tutorial on pearl knotting that I have ever seen. Thank you a thousand times. 2019 PS: I do think you should add that because you have to go through the first and last two pearls twice, that you may have to drill open their holes a bit. 2021 update: the French wire sometimes gets wonked up - bits of the silk show through. I "massage" the French wire back in place but it bothers me. Does this happen to you, too?

Thank you so much. My pearls broke some years ago and I had them re strung at the jewellers. I wasn't over impressed as one of the pearls hadn't been knotted correctly and moved about 3 or 4 mm over time. They have recently broken again at the French wire. I decided that this time I would 're strung them following your video. I used a dressmaking pin to get the knot close to the pearl as my tweezers were not like yours. I'm really pleased with the result. It may not be perfect, but a much better job than the jewellers did. Like all things in life, it takes practice. Thank you so much.

Brilliant video! I love your method. I have just watched another video where the lady used a crimp bead and 2 knots between the clasp and the last pearl at each end, and I think that looks messy (unless you use a couple of crimp covers I suppose) but your method is a lot easier and looks so much neater! The only thing I will point out is that you say the thickness of the thread needs to be able to go through the pearl but it actually needs to go through the pearl twice so something to remember before starting. Otherwise, I think this is a fantastic method and your instructions are so clear...thank you!

Thank you so very much for your lovely, step by step video. I own a small business and one of my customers wanted me to hand knot her beads. I had no clue what to do. I came across your video and the necklace turnout so beautiful. I now love knotting pearls and beads, I even made myself one 😊
