I love wearing pearls more than anything else I own. I’ve purchased so many of these beautiful baroque ones, hoping to make necklaces, bracelets, etc., and never could. Watched videos over the years to no avail.. NOW? I’m doing this tomorrow, and I thank you! So professional looking and you are the maestro of teaching it! ❤❤❤

Well I can’t believe that it’s video came up.. and so thankful that it did. I was wearing my freshwater pearl bracelet today in a dressing room at the shops when the bracelet broke… pearls flew everywhere and I was half undressed!!! I salvaged all the pearls and now I’ll know how to string the bracelet back together again. Thanks for the excellent tutorial ❤

The video is very accessible to someone like me - who knows just enough to jump in confidently and then make a big mess. I will no longer make a mess. Loved the math part also since I knew there was a problem with my two-strand bracelets not sitting "right," but I wasn't knowledgeable enough to fix it.

Yes! Brilliant explanation. My two daughters were each given pearl necklaces by their Grandmother after she had been on a family trip to Australia. My older daughter's one got snagged and broke about midway along and has been languishing in its box for years - Grannie died about 6 years ago so it means a lot but the estimates she was getting from jewellers were ridiculous. Armed with your video I got stuck in and the necklace is now back together and a bit longer as she wanted it to hang lower. We aimed for 55cms but forgot to allow for knots and clasp so it's 60cms when laid out - those knots add a surprising amount to the length! As it was I managed to nearly run out of the 2m long thread at the needle end but just about managed. Managed to mangle the French wire at the closing end on the first attempt but got there in the end. I was using a size 2 needle and thread and the wire needle does get a bit gnarly as you go along - some of the original pearls (which are in the middle of the necklace, the new ones are at either end) had smaller holes and it was quite a tight fit. In the end I found that if I just got the tip of the needle in the hole and held it alongside the thread I could gentle push the pearl along the needle instead of pushing the needle through the pearl. My daughter is coming to stay at the weekend - I think I'll casually leave the necklace in its box on her bed and see how long it takes for her to notice it. Thanks for all your help, couldn't have done it without you. Be safe!

I'm fairly new to knotting pearls and I have found that this video has been most interesting to learn how to knot with two strands of silk thread and the method used in this video. I also wondered how that a two or three stand necklace was measured out to fit the strands properly. This has been a number one video and have learned how to knot and measure your pearls to make great looking necklaces.

Using your video I've restrung them and discovered they are not pearls at all!!! They are just plastic beads, but they look lovely and they have new life. She's right about why it's a good idea to knot the pearls. That's basically how I used to make my knots with necklaces and bracelets, although I didn't make the loop like you did. I always had spare needles on hand in case I bent them up or dropped one (very hard to find in a carpet). That's about the only type of needle that will fit through the holes of real pearls. It's been awhile. I used to sell them in gift shops years ago. I still have lots of supplies, but have been considering selling them off. Too many hobbies haha.

I learned to thread fine pearls when I was 16. This is the proper method though we did not use super glue but threaded back the silk through the pearls on either side of the last knot. Do not hesitate to make very tight knots. They will soon sit. Apart from perfume, sweat and rubbing against each other, the enemy of beads is loose thread as it literally acts as a saw from the inside of the beads. Double thread is a must. You might also like to use a length ribbed cardboard so that you can lay your pearls in line and eventually rearrange them to your taste. Very good tutorial. Thank you. ❤ Oh! One last thing. Black thread for black or charcoal grey pearls. White for pale pearls.
