Pearl Compact Traveler review
Although I usually upload electronic drum videos, I've been testing the new Pearl Compact Traveler kit - a two-piece busking/practice kit. There have been a few review videos, but I thought I'd try to capture the sounds in detail, with no external mics or FX. There's a full written review on Facebook.

This kit pretty much replaces my cajon. Best demo so far.
Not enough echo in that room for my liking.

I do not have Facebook. I just wanted to ask which muffle ring you had put on the bass drum? It sounded killer!

Well I've asked several people that have reviewed this about the volume. Is it to loud to play with vocal and acoustic guitar that is not amped up? Thanks!

This kinda depends on the drummer. But I would def say that it's a great option for acoustic sets
How easy is it to swap out the snare skin?

I love the drum except the snare. Sounds shit though despite being tuned

It's weird because I've also heard it sound really good, I think it's all about how it's set up

The snare sounds killer if properly recorded. But recording quality for this clip is crap.

Too much Hall Reverb for a review, but thanks. I guess.
The kick is fire but the snare is sketchy.

This clip recording is crappy. Miking it properly would make you jaw-drop.

@@donceldrums7917 I don’t usually mic the kit on live performance. The snare is really crappy so I use a 12” Pork Pie SD and use the pearl snare as a tom.

Tired of amateur reviews by guys that didn't learn to play drums first.
most drummers are massively EXCESSIVE... in volume, kit size, etc. NOT SMART. (Gimme a tiny jazz kit and a drummer who can play it well!)

You got here the former. Not the latter.
That thing looks like junk. I like the concept but it's just not a good sound. I doubt you'll get many tips playing the corner on that thing.
