Pear Tree Ranchin 005: Helping a horse that pulls back

Oh man! in this video we look at a horse that has a really hard pull back and how we help him improve. We also have to get to meet a young future English sport horse! He is cute! Then like usual there are some projects to get done and work to finish around the ranch.

Good for you for wearing hearing protection while driving the tractor. It’s wonderful gift to yourself and your wife that your hearing will be intact during the second half of your life.

Love your work , I have a small Qh/appaloosa We are in spain,, 4/5 when i got her and has had 2 foals , she us very kind and friendly , and loves to learn . But she had learnt to pull back ( its a spanish thang) they tye them really short and do whatever to them.. so when tyed they can expect the worst.. As i always teach mine to basically "ground tye" i proceeded to teach her to stand still, and to be ok with whatever i do ,, she is Very cooperative and stands for everything ...but if i tye her she almost immediatly runs back .. so outside of methods used pahaps in my mothers time.. i am looking at all the other ways i can work this through..i dont have the pole you have 🤣🐎but i am finding your methods really interesting .. I have worked with horses all my life, have retired in the mountains and thus little mare is my " last " one to train ..so i have No time pressure at all .all the pressure excercises i have used she reponds to very well..if she gets stuck in any place off piste ..shall we say ..she waits and lets me rescue her ..if i loose her on the mountain she finds me when i call .. as im on a huge valley very difficult to fence and she is as agile as a mule ..this is very good for me as im not so fast on my feet any more.🤣🐎🙏♥️🌄 So greatful for your work ..the joy of horses is learning something everyday ..and i am not done yet🌄🐎🦅am off grid .so really cant patron you ..but ive subbed thankyou

Cool to watch those two horses and the differences between learned behavior compared to honest behavior... Love seeing the try in both of them, always good stuff for me to glean from. See ya in the next episode.

Where did you get the pole with the rotating top? I just got a new horse and she’ll drag you and pulls HARD.

Don't Worry, you can go to the next videos and see the great progress this horse has made. His owner is thrilled at the progress and success he is having. Oh and there's videos of us just using carrots too, if you with through them all you can find them. #thisistheway

It’s ok you feel that way, the horse knickers when I come to get him and his owner is thrilled this dangerous behavior is fixed. She rode him today and had a blast.

The world challenges us every day and gives us some stress. No difference for horses. But mostly there is nobody who does that because he cares for us and wants us to find a better standing in the world. I would prefer some help that challenges me to help that does nothing at all.
