That little compressor is amazing! I have one of those cheap China compressors and have to wear hearing protection when I run the compressor for more then 15 minutes. This one really is quite enough that you don't need a big bottle anymore. Not having to mess with a bucket of water adds to that. Great product!

Good video Steve I have the Omega Trail charger and it works great on guns and bottles the only thing that I would suggest is if you have a big bottle take it to a scuba shop have them fill it and then when it gets down to say 3,000 PSI your Trail charger will fill it right back up to 4500 PSI easy I just wouldn't suggest filling a -75 Cubit tank from empty to full but it works great to top a bottle back off I have a couple of the little buddy bottles it works great on that as well as long as you don't try to fill it from them being empty I also believe that the Omega Trail charger has a built-in water and oil filter to help keep the moisture out of your gun or bottle as well

I have an Omega Air Charger which is the stripped down version. I have owned it for about a year and half to two years with roughly eight hours and is working well for me. Before that I purchased one of those ebay compressors and I spent more time working on it than using it. I love the Omega. I also wanted to add a note about filling an air rifle too quickly. The only thing that I have ever noticed and I am sure you have as well, it will make the air warm and when the air cools, you will lose pressure. I try to fill slowly so, the pressure doesn't drop as I'm shooting so that way I get the most shots.

I actually have a firefighter friend checking with his chief tomorrow to see if they can fill it for me when needed. I have to say you had me nervous as hell when you were pumping that 4500psi in that hose with the end pointing at you...Lol! Ive been looking to upgrade a bit from my AV Nomad2 compressor and I'm liking the Omega Trail to cut my cost and now I'm thinking to also purchase a Patriot 75 CU ft tank. Thank you for an Excellent review. I also know you're not suppose use these small compressor on the big tanks but I did use my AV Nomad2 to help top off my AV 75cu ft tank. from 3000 back to close to 4500 psi. I took me (3) 30 minute intervals, one 30min in the morning then shutdown and one in the afternoon. Then on the morning the next day the final 30 minutes interval. You just have to watch the length of minutes to not overheat the compressor. I'm sure others have done this with their compressors.

Checked out a lot of junk Amazon compressors from Beijing, Don't trust the units or ever receiving them, Then I found the omega trail. This is going to be my 1st fill system😁 A tad bit more expensive at $950 now, But hopefully worth it. PS I bought my pump from Arizona air guns and told My sales rep" Chris " That it was your video that convinced me to get this unit. Thanks for the good info

There is an issue with water in the line that you overlooked. Water ejected at high pressure, freezes. You can damage valves, etc. from the ice. That's likely what finished off the USS Thresher, they did not have line dehydrators so when they went to blow the ballast tanks, the valves froze.

I still feel like the auto shutoff on any of these compressors puts a lot of stress on the compressor internals when it comes to a sudden stop under this high of pressure. I could be totally wrong and it would be great if I am. But any of the compressors I use I open the bleed valve before I shut it off manually. I still set the auto shutoff, just as a safety though.

Oklahoma is the lightning state of America. 2nd the Yong Heng compressor will out perform these compressors because technically they have the Yong Heng parts inside. The Yong Heng is $230 vs 1k. When you going to do a review of the Yong Heng compressor? SCBA bottles are best buy as tested over decades by firefighters and other emergency personnel. All compressed air has moisture and should be filtered with a separator or more expensive dryer. Moisture in any air tool is it's weak link. This is why these air tanks go through a test every 5 years to check for pitting from moisture and other possible compromises of the tank. When your done filling your air gun the Val is already closed once you started feeling the air gun. The valve that closes is the fill valve on deer gun not the hammer valve. If the hammer valve was open you would just blow air down the barrel. Normally if you fill your air gun too fast you will overheat the tubes which in turn will give you less air and you're going to have to top it off once it cools off. And possibly if you overfill your air gun your seals can blow. There is no prevention in any Foster fitting it's a check valve that's it. I worked around compressors for 27 years and giving people the wrong information is highly dangerous and can have someone get injured as I've seen what just 150 psi can do when it explodes.

The cons for a smaller compressor are: 1. 2+ min time to fill time possibly during your shooting session 2. Louder to use than a tank which may matter if you pest or hunt 3. Power is required where you want to fill your gun (either 120v or a running car as you mentioned) 4. You don't have the option to fill large tanks The smaller compressors (Hatsan, Air Venturi, Yong Heng etc) also seems to have a significant failure rate. There is a compressor survey on airgunnation.com that I thought was interesting. There is no data on the Omega Trail yet. I have no use for the 12v charging option, so they should make the 12v cables optional and built in the transformer instead. This was the change, I believe, with the Nomad II. Pros: 5. You don't have to deal (money & time) with the yearly inspection of your tank(s), hydro every 5 years, recertification at 10 years (maybe 50% cost of a tank), and new tank when it's eol after 10 or 20 years (with recertification) 6. Significantly less expensive ($840 vs $2500+)

Yes, I'm familiar with that survey... think I was the very first to reply in that thread, lol. @@aeacvlog2033 I was trying to contribute something of value to the discussion, and I should have included the link www.airgunnation.com/topic/compressor-survey-results/. Previous versions of the data looks differently (more along the lines of www.airgunnation.com/topic/what-200-compressor-owners-said/) with explicit failure rates, but the latest conclusion is quite different than what we recall "runner up was a breakdown or failure rate of 75% with 3 out of 4 Omega Supercharger (red) owners reporting problems". The data is what it is (tiny sample). I didn't post this with intention of making Omega or you look bad, as I said initially, I recall a different conclusion. It's also my impression that Todd @ AOA have done a great job supporting the Omega compressors.

@@allanwind295 To clarify my interpretation of the report, I'm looking at the Omega brand as a whole rather than any one model. When looking at Omega, the survey shows 22 of 25 surveyed would highly recommend their compressor to others, and 8 of those 25 had some sort of problem to sort through... in the end only 1 of those 8 were neutral on recommendation and 2 would likely not recommend. Of course take it all with a grain of salt as 25 people surveyed isn't a legitimate sample regardless. This is a 5 year + old brand who by my personal observations sells dozens a week across North America. Hope this helps. Steve

But I do have PCP and break barrels because like I said just luv to shoot one of my hobbies. But that type of price is kinda crazy . My whole PCP setup cost about 550 JTS max .25 and a compressor that was I believe 180. In fact my m&p shield plus was like 450 . But I'd think that would scare new people off.

Sorry, let me rephrase. "Cheap" in the context of the airgun industry. Regarding the airguns themselves, the majority of the cost is upfront with them... opposite of firearms, for which a lifetime of ammo consumption is much more expensive by comparison. Hope that helps clarify. Steve
