    I locked mine up twice trying to start with ice water. After rereading the instructions, this is what I believe they convey, and works for me. Open both valves and Start compressor Start water pump with room temp water Watch temp Guage on compressor Start to climb, when it reaches 50c shut valves and start filling. Monitor temp Guage, keep it between 50 and 70c. Add ice to water as needed to keep temp below 70c. I keep bottled water in my freezer, just take out bottles as needed and stick them back in when done. I will be changing out my oil to your recommendation, I have been using royal purple and it does smell. Thanks again!

    Thank you so much. I was going through these great little compressors about 1 a year, for the past 4 years. I thought it was just cheap. A cheapy china product, that doesn't typically last. Man! I couldn't have been more wrong, after watching your video, It has been an eye opener. Once again , Graw-c-ass! LOL. Thank you for the knowledge you dropped on this video, for all of us Yong Heng dummies. That Seco Lube oil has made an enormous difference. Since I've been using it, I have now had my Y.H compressor for almost 2 years running, strong, with no straining noises , or noises of any kind, like it used to. Thanks again Brother in Airguns! For anyone coming into the PCP world. . be prepared to spend around $3k buying the yong heng compressor, oil/water separation & carbon filters, proper oil, one way line adapters, water bucket, water bucket for freezing, carbon fiber air tank, Marauder(air rifle), Mid tier Mil scope, scope rings, bipod, scope level, pellets. Its an expensive initial investment but can last for years if you take care of your stuff. A filter you could use instead of the particle one is a cotton/charcoal/cotton filter to further purify the air after the oil/water separator

    I always enjoy your videos, but I must comment on this. By suspending the compressor on springs, you are not dampening anything. You are allowing it to vibrate to its maximum extent. This quiets the sound giving the illusion that you are reducing vibration, buy you are not. The only thing missing in your setup is cooling for the large piston. This is where most of the heat comes from. A high speed fan aimed at the lower cylinder is the best thing you can do to keep this unit cool.

    I just decided to make the plunge from break barrel to pcp and you've convinced me to go with a Yong Heng compressor thanks to your, in-depth and meticulous information. I'm somewhat under the impression that some people may not fully appreciate the potentially unseen hazards of improper or inadequate maintenance of these air systems and it's obvious that you do and you generously share your experience based knowledge, thank you !!! BTW, when I find awesome content creators such as yourself, I encourage viewers to watch several commercials (obviously one can do something else while the commercial plays :) so that hopefully you get a nice bump to keep sharing your knowledge ! So let those commercials run people !!!

    I will try the the SECO 500 lube . I purchased an inexpensive rubber pad used to cushion your knees or behind . It can be purchased at Lowe’s or Home Depot . It works great to isolate the vibration on these compressors .

    I looked into this oil. Too expensive costs as much as a rebuild kit for the YH. I stay with more reasonable Husky brand synthetic or blend compressor oil and rebuild if need to later on. Pump is easy and simple to work on. Parts are plentiful and cheap. To me these are what keep the pump lasts: frequent oil change, keep it cool, don't abuse it. YH is my first pump and it is good as many claims. Pcp gun thing is expensive with many stuffs to buy but usually is a one time investment. Well worth it for the fun of shooting. I buy a used scba 30min on eBay this week for $45 and also a cga 347 on eBay for $50 this week. With the pump goodbye air fill place! It doesn't have to be so expensive like they want you to believe. Good search and resourceful will make this pcp thing affordable. I have a Benjamin Marauder and Discovery, 3 scuba tanks, 1 scba tank, fill hoses and accessories, YH pump, moisture filter gold can, hand pump, gun carrying cases for both guns and a gun holder for about $1k. All used except the YH, cga347 fill hose adapter and fittings. My next gun will be new and it will be the Avenger. The Avenger is as good as the Marauder with more features especially the regulator and 4500psi. Don't always believe into buying the more expensive is better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Good choice on the high temp oil, been using it for over two years. BTW the makers of the coalescent filter suggest we don't open them or "they make no work", lol. They also claim up to 90% water removal so I backup with 12" tube of media and the blue to red, when wet, silicon beads as a tattle tale indicator. Way better than the little stock kotex filters! All this needs to be pumped up to pressure as well, 400 cc's? Worth it!

    Hey bud. I know this video of yours is old. But i want to thank you for this video about the Diester 500 hydraulic lubricant. Man,, i have used this lubricant for a long time as i do oil changes of course. And the compresor piston have stayed clean. Even the oil never darkens as other one i've had,, that ruined another compressor that i have not taken apart to clean. But once i purchased a new one,, i started using Seco Diester from the very first filling. Is the best suggestion you have made once you find out yourself about this oil. I use the crab about my compressor and have always worked with no pumping strengh loss. And stays clean, which is critical. You are very good educator as you have learned from experience. Very cool from you to share.

    @@AirVelocitySport Yep, as soon i saw what you went through, and you pointed out this Lubricant. I figure that it was the root of my problem. The compressor wasnt reaching to 3k psi fill..the neddle would stale somewhere in between from 2,200- 2500 psi. I use my new working unit for scuba, also for a tire filling portable tank unit. That i can carry in my trunk. I am using a 62ci/3000 HK army. For this gadget. Plus another portable invention that i fill soda stream cylinders. And screw in the unit,, to recompress either low or out pressure aerosol cans. Like WD40. That many guys throw them away cuz they wont spray and still like half full.>>> This is an example with a Febreze air freshner kzread.infomvTl47JENIQ?feature=share3

    Great video. I purchased a Yong Heng compressor from your first video and works great as long as complete maintenance is done should last for years. I always blow air through both water lines to remove all water to stop any corrosion cause I have Well water. I also remove the entire cylinder check rings and lube everything with Trident Pure silicone grease and change out the oil I use is 30-weight synthetic hydraulic oil. You want a mineral oil based oil as we used in our companies quincy air compressor. Now for the condensation build up that all compressor's have is best to use a Dryer as we used for 250psi and they are expensive. For 4500 psi what you have is the next cheapest alternative. They do sell filters that Scuba divers use and they to are expensive. Just wanted to thank you once again I trust your honest reviews and they always paid off for me. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

    One thing I've started doing is closing the tank valve and allowing the compressor to charge the filters and lines up to the pressure I intend to fill the tank to and maybe just a bit higher. Then with it running I'll open the tank and let the line and filter fill the tank, this is a way to confirm the lines and fittings aren't going to fail by testing at the moment of use. I also have been experimenting with using refrigeration line drier on the air intake. While it's not good to add resistance on the suction side, preliminary findings are completely dry high pressure output.

    The best way to avoid concerns with the safety of post compressor drying devices is to not use one. I dry my air BEFORE it's compressed. I pull my feed air through 4 pounds of desiccant in a clear container (so I can monitor desiccant status). Cheap, effective, safe. Easy-peasy.

    Glad to read, I was planning on doing the same if this Amazon return Vevor design model that looks similar is functional. Was low on oil, so need to invest in some before powering on to test. I also need to research more regarding, so know in advance what all to be on the lookout for. I'm also thinking additional cooling anywhere can be applied will also help with lifecycle as reads like the Vevor are like some of the YH clones that have issues. Like better air compressor system design, seems best to place the radiator and desiccant on the input.

    Look up how all the top breathing air compressor brands do things then backtrack. The way you described sounds expensive and is not being filtered right as the desiccants / molecular sieve work best under pressure (air is being squeezed). Its best to either have a molecular sieve and a charcoal filter inline OR have a molecular sieve + charcoal filter combined.

    great review and update. Im using mobile1 0w-16 full synthetic in my yong heng after switching over from the recommended iso aw46 hydralic oil and the oily smell is alot less. I think I have 50 working hours under load with the 0w16 oil and its doing fine. I will try the diester oil to see if it the oily smell stops. I got the yh may 2019 so I think the lower pistion is made better than the earlier versions. never had mine apart to check it. I think low viscosity oils are the right type for the yong heng since the crank/rod lower is splash lubrication so thicker oils more than say sae30 won't splash up to the lower pistion cylinder block on the up stroke. I only use the yh 2 or 3 times a year now to fill my scbas from 1000 to 4500 since getting the ayrteck booster pump. I now have 3000psi of usable air from each scba tank 6 total. its perfect for the big bore air hogging pcps.

    Great video as usual Stephen. SUPER informative. I’ve had better luck just using cool tap water on my DAVV compressor at home. The manufacture says it operates most efficiently between 55C and 75C (131F and 167F). I locked up my compressor at startup once using ice water. I typically run mine in 15 min increments, and I’ve never gotten the water hotter than 59C. I’m a HUGE proponent of the 1way check valve on the tank. It eliminates the need to “guess” when to open the valve on the scuba tank. When I have a working prototype of the magnet version of the dampening device I’ll shoot one your way. It might be a few months because I’m leaving Cali and moving to Tennessee. Time for a new pace of life my friend. Maybe when all gets settled you can come visit and we’ll shoot a hunting/shooting video on the 50 acre property? That would be amazing!

    I use my compressor for filling scuba tanks. I use some of the normal molecular sieve housings in line on a broom handle. I hang the handle so the sieve housings are down and will let moisture drain down to the air bleeder at the bottom. The cotton pre filter housing is upstream so all of it goes down at the u bend. I also use Lube-V synthetic breathing oil. Honestly I'm sure Royal purple is probably better, but not for breathing air. I wish I could use another oil product, but again ...breathing air...no options other than food grade. As to those water purge housings, they sure look like there is space at the bottom that will just collect moisture. It is better to have the moisture collect by the cotton pre filter before it hits the other filter housings.

    I'm going to make a safety cage for this compressor and all the components that come under this enormous pressure, with just enough recesses to be able to operate it! Just like you inflate a truck tire. If something goes terribly wrong I won't get hurt, also I'm going to try to get all the controls, taps, gauges to the back of the pump and a bigger fan that cools from back to front all parts including the high pressure part of the pump!

    Hello, A very nice presentation. I will offer a couple suggestions for inexperienced shooters who get a compressor, or any use of tapered pipe fittings. The first is to wrap the Teflon sealing tape in the same direction that the fittings are assembled. For me it is easiest to hold the fitting in my right hand and the tape roll in my left while wrapping a couple layers, while leaving the first thread on the small end bare of tape. This reduces the chances of the scraps of tape at the end from being sheared off and getting into your system. Bad things can happen when the tape gets under a valve seat.

    I just bought this Yong Heng compressor and the Toauto water/oil separator. After only one use I found the steel fittings already rusting. I disconnected the line that runs into the black filter assembly and found that fitting with rust and white corrosion. The white filter element was already catching rust. In my opinion all these lines need to be replaced with stainless steel fittings. Also the fittings on the water/oil separator need to be stainless. You need to do a video demonstrating how to fix this issue plus include your sources and all the exact sizes (NPT, Metric etc...). It's a safety issue plus no one needs rust particles reaching their guns and tanks.

    Have you seen the video on YT where a guy wraps a copper tube around the high pressure pipe on the compressor and runs the coolant water through it? The amount of water he pulls out of the high pressure bleed valve is crazy. His solution is a bit "rough". I will try it the next time I have to fill my bottle.

    Please could you explain the process of installing the Hose from new (out of the box) that fits to the compressor and tank? Is there a small white o-ring type membrane that fits between the Hose connector and the main body? or should you simply just fit the Hose direct to the main output line? The destructions in the Creworks compressor i bought that is similar to the compressor in your video has very poor instructions.

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with the Yong Heng Air Compressor. I have purchased the compressor and also the TOAUTO 30Mpa High Pressure Air Filter External Water Oil Separator Filtration for Air Compressor Air Pump. As I am new to PCP's, I am having difficulty locating an SCBA tank or understanding the size like the 88 cubic tank you mention in the video. I understand the Air Tanks Plus - one-way fill station CGA 347 and will probably purchase this as well but would appreciate it if you could recommend or direct me to finding a tank as you demonstrated. Please note, I just acquired the UMAREX Gauntlet and have been using a Hand pump to fill it to the 3000 psi level. Thanks in Advance

    Hey Air Velocity Sport!! Merry Christmas!! i have a question out of left field, maybe you can help. i see you're very knowledgeable on air guns!!!! my sig sauer mcx airvirtus pcp has a 13cu bottle with 1100 psi stock reg. ive been running a 1550 psi reg getting 680 fps with a 14.5 grain pellet. Do you have any advice or tips on whether or not it could be safe, extremely dangerous or possible to increase reg psi to 1800psi on this sig pcp virtus. The mcx 177 non virtus i hear is a piece of crap. What do you think of the 22 sig virtus?? i know theyre better guns out there but ive had it for over a year with zero issues and ran over 1500 rounds through it.

    Good to see you put on a new video. Could you please give us some information on your leshiy 2 setup. Looks like you have a 350 mm with the mod50 moderator. What caliber or calibers do you have and what size and weight slugs are working best for you and at what speed? I have used your .2503 dish, cup, flats and .254 cup. Thursday I put a order in for some more .254s cups in 32 and 34gr As well as some .3033 50gr cups. Would love to see a video of you shooting your AVS slugs out of your leshiy 2.

  • @jeffreystroman2811

    @jeffreystroman2811

    Hey Dave, if you go to an HVAC supplies shop you can get what's called a line drier. Keep in mind it's a close knit community and they may even tell you they don't sell to the public, only authorized repair people. To preempt this try and find a part number or several before you walk in, I have used a 3/8" line drier on the intake and have completely removed the moisture so even the first air bleed (between the two stages) was dry as a bone for the first minute to the 15th. These drier come sealed and are installed into a vacuum so just letting it sit un capped will render it no longer useful

  • @erik_dk842

    @erik_dk842

    Жыл бұрын

    @@jeffreystroman2811 I had the same idea. They are a bit pricy, though, and they are not meant to dry a constant supply of moisture, only what's inside the refrigerant circuit at the time it gets closed up. You'd want to seal both ends up when not in use. You should be able to dry it out by heating it up in an oven. On Target Forge channel, he talked to a high-end filter manufacturer, who used the analogy of water being like a sponge - you get water out as you squeeze it - and that's why it's more efficient to dry the high pressure side.
