I like to imagine that they're the ones playing the theme during the fight. And there, maybe unknown to even the primsriver sisters, there's someone else, someone special that decided to join in with the drums, as it's present during the whole melody, but not as a protagonist like the main band, but rather as the support that keeps the melody going and helps the other instruments. Present when the trumpet has it's solo, present when the violin joins in, and even complimenting the piano.

I've always struggled in this boss fight. Is it because I play Reimu A? It's only the part following the first trio attack that I start to die a lot, the last 2 spell cards on Normal are easy for me.

I love how the battle can chance depending on which character you choose to play. Never noticed it until I tried playing somone other than Sakuya.

First spell is easy, just get through the bullet gaps and then they give you a split second because they stop shooting bullets directly at you for like 1 second. After that go opposite direction and repeat.

Really? I've 1cc on Easy two times on PCB and unlocked the extra stage. It depends which games you play.

The timing working out so the trumpets kick in as all three of them gather is suuuuch a good moment.

My favorite thing about these sisters is their theme. Just so beautiful, especially the beginning

I found Lyrica's opener the hardest. Thankfully, Lyrica was by far the easiest one of the 3 minus that opener.

I really like how each of their instruments are the instruments used to make touhou songs like the clear as day ZUNpet in gensokyo millenium, piano in reach for the moon immortal smoke, and violin in flowering night

Well in the game, you encounter Lunasa (yellow and black one) as Marisa, Merlin (silver and gray one) as Sakuya, and Lyrica (red and white one) as Reimu. Seeing as those are also Marisa, Sakuya, and Reimu's colors, I just thought it was interesting.

I politely disagree to this, Life 2 was the most fun and engaging one of the series, while Life 3 is all about reflections of yourself, the past and the future, Life 2 had all the action and made a more exciting adventure

I remember my first experience with PCB all those years ago. When I reach the Prismriver Sisters, the music stood out to me so much I went into a trance while still battling them. Till this day, Phantom Ensemble remains a standout and the prime example of every Touhou game's stage 4 boss theme being one of the best and catchiest song within their individual game

I've listen to this song a lot and it is still the best!

so i start to play marisa b right after i grew tired of reimu b, everything was going incredibly well until the prismriver sisters decided to hand me some pain and suffering. i'm still very new to PCB, having finished the game using 3 continues on easy mode with reimu b. so lyrica prismriver caught me off guard. very off guard. i lost all my lives and proceeded to die at stage 5, not deciding to continue.

Since this comment I've improved a LOT! I can pretty much beat this stage on 2 lives with only 1 or 2 bombs as Marisa on Hard. I started using Marisa and Improved so much.

One of the best stage 4 bosses in the series. I love their team work

The in-between spell cards when you fight them alone depends on who you shot at when you ended the combined spell cards. Thus, there are segments that can be made easier, if there's a certain member you prefer to fight.

It's weird because the first time I played this game (my first Touhou game), I struggled for a month to beat the game in Easy with all the continues. After beating all the 18 Touhou games, I came back and 1cc the game on Normal on my first try (Just this one, though. It took a lot more for other games)
