It's pretty much canon that Alice is massively holding back her powers. We'll probably never see the full extent of her power, and ZUN probably won't tell us either, so plenty of fans will continue to think of her as an incompetent doof. Exactly what she wants.

She was an extra boss using a spells from a book she had not mastered. Still Zun confirmed she has never used the full extent of her abilities. All in all she is probably around Yukari tier if she went all out.

bluenova123 Well, if you control for the player characters' combined power levels she WAS at Yukari's level or close as an extra boss. Even in Windows just her Goliath Doll was at around Suwako tier.

Remember, an extremely nerfed Marisa was EX tier when fighting Cirno as well. So performances against the (9) aren't really that telling. That said, Alice is probably extremely powerful in a conventional sense. She's able to fight on even ground with people who defeat planetary devastator Shinki. But the true threat of high tier Touhous isn't in their conventional power (except Yuuka, who is Yuuka), but in their conceptual abilities. And Alice is really out of her league there.

The joke is that Alice makes a mistake. White light contains all colours, so all 7 colours Alice has, but Reimu is also red AGAIN, so Reimu is actually 8/7ths of Alice's power, therefore it is no surprise that Alice lost.

The very first character that ive met in Touhou. My older brother show me Touhou when i was in.. like kindergarten. I thought she was the protagonist of the whole Touhou series because of some Touhou mmds that featured Alice. Since she was the first character i got introduced to, i adored her. Since im now older, i realize she isnt a protagonist but one of the best touhou characters. If Alice wasnt in Touhou since in the pc-98 era, i wouldnt know about this fandom's existance. Its fans are absolutely amazing. Lord Zun's music and plot. The fans' fan vocals and anime and other more. Even though Alice aint my favorite anymore, she's still an amazing character. (Also i thought the eye colors in some mmds are canon since i was in kindergarten oh nuu)

I was also misinterpreted characters role in touhou back then when I was first got into touhou (but haven't played main games at that time). Thanks to IOSYS's overdrive, I thought Reisen was supposed to be a main villain like mafia or something. Funny that recently touhou now include mafia conflicts (touhou 17)

actually, theres more to show about how zun likes alice, as one of alices dolls is named shanghai. on another note, alice is a reference to a great many series'. asura blade, due to her grimiore. alice in wonderland (no shit), and even to the anime "Rozen Maiden", due to her alternate themes, as well as said dolls battling to become "Alice". Alice is quite the loved character, and the one with the most references. alice is basically the physical manifestation of the name "Team Shanghai Alice"

jokes aside, alice theme is one of the touhou music ever made

This theme conveys her personality quite well. The first part of her theme warns one not to underestimate her, and the latter parts of her theme tell of her heroism and true innocence. Alice is the only yokai that I consider to be a protagonist in the series thus far. Best way to describe her? She's the "Boo" Radley archetype. People fear her but she fights for just causes. No matter how you slice it though, this theme is one of the best I've ever heard.

Alice: Your power is only 28.571% compared to mine! Reimu: I totally didn't know you are good at math.

Alice Margatroid, The Witch of Death or Alice of the Magic Land (?) or The Seven Coloured Puppeteer i really love her theme! it's really fits with her dark personality! since in canon, Alice somehow have dark heart.her fight is pretty easy.her design looks fancy af but i prefer her young clothes in MS.Alice seems to be really change so much from MS to PCB although she is still childish and dark inside. i love this character anyway also her house is full of dolls, is that resembles of people in Makai and also her beloved friends and families in Makai(Sara, Louize, Yuki,Mai, Yumeko, and Shinki)?

I loved that line! It's hilarious how Sakuya's the only one who reacts ''positively'', the others being scared as hell of that fact.

Gensokyo exists _inside_ of Japan, it's our real world with another universe sealed inside it. It is obvious other countries exist.

I love the pics depicting Alice and her doll army in such a dark, threatening, yet elegant manner. She may not be Sakuya, but she still has a great deal of class and badass to show. Plus, I do love her theme songs, this one included. Thank you very much for re-uploading it! ^^

Theory of my own: Alice Margatroid is probably based on the first "annihilator" music album "Alice in Hell" that was released in 1989; at the art of the album, you can see a blonde girl with a lot of dolls behind her.

Marisa Stole the Precious Thing was my introduction to Touhou way back when it was first a meme, so I guess in some ways Alice was also my introduction to Touhou. Thanks Alice!

I used to like this theme a lot less. I liked it, just not that much. But it's been so long since I last heard it, so listening to this song is like coming home to an old friend.

Sounds really foreboding and evil. The beat at 0:13 reminds me of VI’s stage 4 boss theme. It’s pretty good, ngl. 0:50 Wait, all of that was JUST the intro!? :O Okay, this is getting pretty great. This theme sounds so damn malicious and sad at the same time for some reason, lol. 1:40 YES, THERE’S THE MAIN MELODY THAT I WAS WAITING FOR! It took a while, but I KNEW it was coming!! Now this is a GREAT theme! VII’s OST doesn’t disappoint at all so far. :)

After getting a normal 1cc on every Touhou game, I decided to try it out again on hard mode, starting with EoSD and IN (And succeeded) but then, I *_heavily_* underestimated PCB. I effed up against Chen and got *_DESTROYED_* by Alice. That brutal b¡tchslap made me realize that: 1. That theme is so much more powerful than what I remembered. I didn't realize it until I practiced with her once again. It conveys so many different feelings, if you listen carefully. Just beautiful... 2. If you don't pour 100% of your brain and soul when playing Touhou, you'll get @ss-whooped, no matter what difficulty you play.

I don't know what colors have to do with sexuality, but in the Touhou universe the colors represent how much power a character has. Alice, having seven colors in her design, is incredibly powerful.

Everytime I work with a wool spectrum in Minecraft, I always put Pink, White, Light Blue, and Black next to each other in honor of this awesome character. I think Alice is one of the coolest girls in the series because she's the only one to undergo an age and species change...
