I love Standard Poodles! They are so beautiful, especially the smoke gray color. The different haircuts are fun to watch and it’s interesting what the judges look at when judging each groom.

I also have a standard for a service dog and do my own grooming. Not only is it more convenient to not be without my partner I think it deepens the bond. :) Best wishes to your fam!

Wow, seeing that one grooming yanking that poor poodle like it wasn’t a live entity, rather like it was a box.

It would be marvelous to follow this PCA2018 Grooming Competition. I have one poodle std , three years old, and it is very difficult to find out one groomer interested to keep him trimmed. I live in Brazil and poodle std is very rare.

Joaquim De Assis hello! I think it’s hard to find a really good poodle groomer in the USA! It’s such an art and takes a long time to learn the skill of fine scissoring. That’s nice that you have a poodle since they are rare. My husband and both sons have visited Brazil and loved it. Thank you for watching Joaquim!

Grooming starts when poodle puppies are 4 to 5 weeks ideally. Most poodles enjoy it!

Hayes Kingdom First, thank you for watching. These are professional groomers and I am not. I’m better at shooting and editing video! I do have two standard poodles though and what I have observed when it comes to cordless clippers is - a lot of groomers prefer Wahl Bravura. That’s what I have and I like it. But that’s a good idea for a little story next year. I’ll go around at PCA and ask everyone and then I will post the answers. Thanks for the story idea!

So I was hoping to vlog my first poodle club of American experience... do they allow filming at the specialty then? For instance, Shetland Sheepdogs Club Of America won’t even allow you to photograph your own dog in the ring.

Fictitious No one officially shoots grooming so that’s no problem. Also, I’ve shot about everything else but I don’t post it until afterward. I have heard of some still photographers who have been told no shooting but I shoot with my phone so I must be a bit under the radar. Good luck! Look for me!

This is horrible and it should be unethical. Let dogs roam and play. Completely unnatural to force them to stand for hours and even endure unhealthy chemical dyes for our pleasure. What kind of humans do that. shame on these supposed "dog lovers."
