    Auctions take time to set up, it may be difficult to get in, and you have to pay an entrance fee, and another fee which is a percentage of the price you sold it for (5-15%). The beauty of the pawn shop is the simplicity of it. You go in, and get instant cash.

    50K may be a touch pricey even though it belonged to Noel Boggs. I have a 1953 one of these in walnut, 26" scale length, and a 1955 Triple neck. The Stringmaster is still a bit of a holy grail for steel playes. Leon McAuliffe played one of these.back in the day, and I beleive Santo Farina had a quad as well as a triple.

    I sorta agree, however take this example. Elvis Presley loved this guitar but never played it. Elvis Presley owned this guitar, but never played it. The one that has sentiment, will attract more people and thus a higher price. I'm not saying this swing guy carries the same prestige as the king, but a person's sentiment can bring a higher price :)

  • @mixstamike

    @mixstamike

    @@sydclark5581 yes something of that status like Elvis Presley guitar even if not played does bring good value. But most people dont have gems like that just given to them or passed down. Most are lied to thinking this iteam is so valuable and important just to come to find out it's either fake or not worth alot. So that's what I ment by sentimental value doesnt increase it's value. Yes a high prized iteam as your example will draw high dollars but that isnt because of the owners sentimental value. Its simply because the iteam is wanted an craved by other's in which can draw up the price.
