Yup I saw it live yesterday. Every point was a fight from both of these ladies. Hats off to both of them!

Paula Badosa is a good sport. She is able to smile and graciously shake the hand of her opponent.

Can't believe this is a round 1 match. WTA is so strong now ...

Samsonova is a very strong athlete and she's been playing some impressive tennis lately. Definitely think we'll see her in the top 10 soon.

Yes, Samsonova along with Zheng Qin Wen will get into top 10, I think Badosa is on a downward spiral since last year.

Awesome match. Badosa is playing so much better this year, and Samsonova is getting better with each match. BOTH players are amazing players. Hated to see one lose.

I was on this match and it was thrilling Spanish fans screamed “Davai Paola” and I was screaming “Vamos Liuda” 😂

What a battle!

Biggest problem Badosa is going to face as she tries to work her way back towards the top 10 is that there are no easy draws anymore, so she will keep running into the likes of Haddad Maia and Samsonova in first and second rounds. It might serve her to play some 250 tournaments if she’s looking to gain confidence and ranking points.

Biggest problem with Badosa is; she is just overrated, she always was. Now, she's slowly going back to where she belongs finally.

Quite long time ago I had the pleasure to meet Luda and to play with her for two weeks at Piatti tennis camp in Isola d’Elba. She was already a great athlete and I remember her like a very simple and sunny girl. I’m so happy to see she’s been able to reach such a high level of tennis, but mostly I’m happy to see she’s still the simple girl I met that time. Chapeau 👏🏼

3 hours and 22 minutes!!! Longest WTA match this season, so far.

I watched Samsonova live at the WTA-250 “Tennis in the Land” tournament in Cleveland, Ohio where she won the singles title (August 2022). She is a tough competitor.

Wow. Nearly 3.5 hours of high, high level intensity. These players are a real credit to their S&C teams. The level today is just immense.

Sam is a beast.! She does not know when shes beaten.! This girl fights till the end.

Two great players. But I am SO happy Liudmila finished the job. Людмила, я люблю тебя. (Lyudmila, ya lyublyu tebya!)

Amazing match, deserve 8 minutes or 10 at least.

Great match! But quality of video is getting worse. While others post 4k60, you post worst looking 720p i've seen in decade...

Really poor highlights for such a classic match with 2 great talents.. both played great tennis, yet we see a couple of points won by Badosa.. Samsonova's ball is ripping through the court though! A huge prospect, I'm looking forward to 1ga-Samsonova in 3rd round if they both get that far. Re these videos, maybe the people creating them are underpaid.. I'll assume it's that, and shut up, cos our feedback is clearly in vain.

Badosa is playing well in the last month but not really winning a lot...

Badosa is an amazing player, but I think her footwork is lacking lately. Never been the quickest mover, but she looked a little exposed. Granted she is playing a very powerful player. Just shows how difficult it is to stay at the top year after year. I am sure she will figure out how to improve her level.
