Be very careful with this particular guy……… I heard him on one clip on Joe Rogan back in July,…. It’s now October, and I’ve booked a trip to the Amazon on his expedition. Every interview he gives is like this. I have to go and collect my own stories sitting in his boat now. He’s brilliant. Highly recommend “Mother Of God”

Paul has an amazing ability to tell a story in a way that makes you feel as if you were there. That is a rare ability. There are lots of people who go into the Amazon, but not everyone can make someone feel as if you're there.

You know a conversation is good when its 3 and a half hours long and when it ends you wish there were more. Great episode!

Trying to grab an anaconda (weighing 200-400 pounds or more) is officially the dumbest of dumb-dude moves! Do you grab tigers by the tail, tweek elephants on the trunk & punch rinos in the mouth too? I'm actually surprised you admitted to these activities. You only survived by pure dumb luck! These over-glorified, tall tales encourage other young, dumb-dudes, which you know is dangerously dumb, but it sells books, right? Your Amazon tales are irresponsible especially to those who know better & know how impressionable so many young, male teens & twenty somethings are. Your stories are like watching the show "Rediculousness".

This gold mining Industry in the Amazon is absolutely heartbreaking ! There is no way that I will believe that governments cannot go in and shut this down. It is massively criminal to do that to the rainforest. I didn’t know much about the rainforest or the Amazon, until I started seeing these podcasts, but it has become an obsession of mine to learnabout the animals and the communities and everything about it. Something needs to be done.

We look to scholars who stood before us to gain insight and understanding of knowledge: Einstein, Gandhi, Bruce Lee, Hawking…and many others who understood that the knowing is in the constant pursuit and therefore acceptance of inevitable failures as a means to rise above and further their knowledge - “a man who knows, and knows that he knows.”

This man is living my boyhood dream. I chased different adventures now but I was wrestless in school and dreamed of mountains and oceans and adventures. This guy is doing what I yearned for decades ago. It is a true joy hearing him tell his stories.

I understand, only because I have an adventurous son. I taught him to read and count early and that's where it ended- his real education was time with my dad, a biologist or building and fixing things with his dad. My son could identify unique classifications of birds, animals plants and trees by age five. By second grade his teachers tried to get me to put him on medication because he was bored, energetic and he didn't like sitting at a desk and staring at a one dimensional piece of paper for eight hours. He was a normal boy but we let him get tested, then I refused to put him on pills, especially when I learned that every child in his class got a recommendation to get tested and every child got a prescription. It's a situation of government subsidies, the doctors and the schools get a financial kickback. l think that we're evolving, cells have memory, we carry the history of our ancestors inside of us and we need to tap into that, at our core level, if we're going to know the truth about human history and cycles of destruction. Other than learning to read and to do some math, school is a monumental waste, they're teaching an agreed upon set of lies and with the level of indoctrination now it's become downright detrimental. Kids are being conditioned for conformity, legal slavery unawares and institutionalized living and thinking. A boy's natural thirst for adventure- that adrenaline rush- is channeled into sex, drugs, fast cars and otherwise embracing the dark side. Or they resign themselves to their fate and escape into technology and/or conforming. I don't think enough people realize that we are going to be living off the land in our lifetime, and it will be incredibly rewarding and humbling..some will choose to lose their soul in exchange for inconvenient convenience, it's essentially bondage leading them blindly into the mouth of the dragon. We would do well to start workshops teaching children- and even adults- basic and advanced survival skills and natural living. The world is so incredibly vast, parts of it have yet to be seen by human eyes, so beautiful -yet people pile on top of each other on a concrete slab, a prison without bars. That isn't truly living.

JJ died. About 30 minute in He told the story about how great of a man JJ was and how he was somewhat of a legend of the Amazon until one day he was at a local BBQ and suddenly passed away. He doesn’t elaborate on how he died.

Wonderful episode, so many memories. I’ve been very fortunate to have met Paul, JJ, Victor, and the entire team at the lodge in Madre de Dios. It was a life changing experience, and I cannot thank all of the team enough for welcoming us so warm heartedly and showing us their beautiful world with such love and passion. Like all of the few remaining natural “wonders”, the Amazon need to be protected by all means. We originate from mother nature, and we must never hurt or kill our mother 💔

This by FAR was your most intriguing interview. Not often I watch podcasts, let alone when they're this long. Honestly, the entire conversation had me hooked from start to finish. I'm not a fearless man, but I could only dream to do the things he's done, maybe some day I'll get to head down to the Amazon and see it for myself, it sounds like it would be the experience of a lifetime.

Paul has an incredible gift for telling stories. The way he just talks about the events that happened in his life so far is absolutely amazing to listen too. You can visualize what he saying 💜

This podcast hits so close to home. It just makes me feel good. I grew up in the Deep South US where thankfully we still have lots of rural, wooded areas with low population density. Of course it's nothing like the places Paul has been, but it's provided me a lifetime of amazing experiences away from concrete and people. If I don't get out in nature every week I start feeling anxious. I cannot imagine the things this amazing man has seen.

I was thinking the same. Walking to my mailbox a half mile away I see tracks. I heard leaves rustled. I see a tree being bored by something with claws for bugs inside. I step over a bug. Nothing compared to this man’s experience but quite something to what most people experience. I’m also in the South. Very rural. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Just in the past few days I've seen deer, crows, turkeys, buzzards, squirrels, geese, hundreds of various species of birds, and a possum in my large back yard that borders woods. I keep a pair of binos on my kitchen window sill to get closer looks. I put all my animal carcasses and uneaten food near the treeline so make sure the local buzzards always have a snack. They are ugly to most people, but to me they're beautiful. Few people realize that buzzard poults are fluffy white. We had a family living in an old shooting box on my dad's farm. We turned it over to them, lol.

Very well put! I love scuba diving places that have never been seen, and it all goes back to a creek at my grandmothers house on the mobile bay. That creek, from the clams in the sand, all the way up to just the Spanish moss hanging from centuries old oak trees hanging over it, all gave me such a strong sense of wonder. Like how is there so much beauty, and we don’t even know the half of it!

This was so unexpectedly fun to hear. I feel like his experience and wellspokeness unlocked a part of the jungle i never knew existed. Great guest

I'm willing to bet that mankind will eventually send a supposedly invincible android to the tribes out there and the robot will force itself upon the tribe learning their language and it will live with the tribe and start communicating with the tribe until it tricks the tribe into accepting the android as one of their own.

He is so poetic when describing life in the Amazon. I so wish he could speak with my students…he would be a hero in their eyes.

this is officially the longest piece of individual content I've ever consumed in one sitting. That speaks volumes about how engaging this conversation with Paul and Lex was and how incredibly fascinating the topics covered are. The 3 and a half or so hours quite literally just flew right past me, and I promise you I could've never watched a movie that's this long without melting into my seat. Paul is especially gifted in his storyteller among other things. I felt like the way he described things made me experience what he probably experienced and it's just brilliant. Wow ❤

I imagine it's like watching and listening to a beautiful orchestra . Steve Irwin was definitely a one of a kind human . The whole world fell in love with Steve. He changed a part of my soul, too. This man is incredibly diverse. I grew up in the bush,and there's a symphony of crickets and a cascade of waterfalls,as you listen to the falling rain amongst whispering trees that beckon the winds ,and the haunting call of howling wolves ,as the full moon glows , dancing shadows move throughout the darkness ,piercing the night, it haunts your soul. It is indeed a part of you.

It's very hard for me to sit, uninterrupted for 3+ hours and stay intrigued. I did it no problem with this podcast. Awesome.

Agreed! Visiting a small part of the rainforest in Costa Rica & seeing how amazing the ppl & wildlife there was is the coolest thing I've ever done so can only imagine what experiencing the Amazon would be like but def hope to go sometime soon😊

Almost every other show falls into one of four categories; 1) academic (usually AI, mathematics or computer science) 2) super-guest (Musk, Rogan, Kanye) 3) biographical story of a comedian or a rare athlete/skill holder (Like the chess player or the arm wrestler) 4) political theory in general, historical event or current event (like Ukraine) This show is more like an adventure. This category should be explored further by Lex imo.

Loved this interview! I did not know Paul until this episode, but it's refreshing to see such a compassionate human being. I love how knowledgeable and caring he is about nature, and at the same time he does not pretend to know everything about every topic, yet he can share deeply relatable thoughts on those topics in his own words. It's refreshing to see someone with this passion that also is not fueled by hatred against those who don't see eye to eye with him. This approach is much more likely to make people understand his stance, vs throwing stones. Great job Paul, I wish we all thought this logically and open minded. ❤

It felt as if I was listening to nature itself speak. It's so grounding how genuine and sincere Paul is, this podcast was the biggest breath of fresh air.

What an incredible and deeply moving podcast. I suddenly feel the urge to just go outside and take in everything around me. The perspective and storytelling in this episode is wonderful.

Its no wonder Lex is going to the Amazon with this guy. Wealth of knowledge and has connections to other very experienced adventurers of the Amazon. Can't wait to hear about it.

This is one of the best podcasts I will ever watch. So many parts that make me want to cry from happiness and from sadness.

What an amazing guy he is. What an episode. Exceptional story telling. I have also downloaded his book. Just feel like this guy has something crazy to share with the world.

I'm trying to imagine Lex in the Amazon 🕴 Enormous respect between both Lex and all his interviewees makes this podcast outstanding. It's like having a gourmet meal after all the fast food junk we are being fed by the algorithm.

As I started my morning here in Gothenburg, Sweden with an hour hike, having this pod playing in my Marshall headphones I ended up on my favorite spot on top of a mountain looking out over the ocean I got a fire going for the rest of the pod. Life bruh! This was an amazing conversation, thank you Lex and Paul.

As I started my morning here in the UK on the toilet with a routine function, having this pod playing on my phones speakers, I ended up with my ass empty and my legs numb. Life bruh!

He speaks like a writer. His description of the stars undulating between the movement of the anaconda blocking and revealing the night sky was vivid.

What a facinating guy Paul is...could listen to his stories all day..great human beng,he's an exapmle all of us should strive to follow

It’s amazing that JJ is such a big part of this conversation and thanks to this guy for making that possible

When Paul talks about his struggles in school, undiagnosed Dyslexia and not reading until 10, it matches my son exactly. My son loves being outdoors and makes his own bow and arrows, survival tools and many other fascinating things. He so smart. School isn’t for everyone. These days, they do leave the kids who don’t fit into their educational mold out. Thank you, loved this interview. ❤

This man tells his stories, and we are like the children listening to them before bedtime and eventually till late at night

i’ve tried to watch almost all podcasts with paul in it, the way he tells stories and stares into the distance like he’s back in the story as he tell is, he seems to be living his dream truly.

Watching this is not only informative, its soothing, it makes me wanna get back into the forrest and just sit there for a while. Its 4am and i have Uni tomorrow lol Anyways imma head to the forrest myself in the morning after class, and just go alone into the dark errie wilderness myself. If i dont message back it means I didnt return. 😺

First time I watch a 3.5 hour podcast entirely. This was the most amazing conversation ever! The earth need many more Paul Rosolies 🙏 I now have a new item on my bucket list ❤

I cant say ive sat through an interview this long, heck Snyders justice league barely held me this long, but hearing him talk about the Amazon was just captivating. The awe and just sheer respect and passion he has for part of the world....was inspiring. Dont know that ive been that passionate about anything in life, its moments like these that makes a person wonder what their meaning in the world is. Glad you did this one, amazing.

Lex is one of the best interviewers I've seen. He's the prime example of someone who listens instead of waiting for his turn to talk.

I actually love the way he’ll just stop after hearing his guest speak and just close his eyes, breath deep and absorb what he just heard. I do it at the same time sometimes while listening.

i honestly got annoyed more than once that hed go back to the notes and dive off one subject paul was talking super passionately about, like saving the rain forest and how he can have an impact at 18 - and lex immediately looks at the paper and asks " so what about andacondas". Was an amazing interview and im new to his process / channel but it felt pretty inauthentic more than once bc of this

@@kamBlak3Lex has said before this is all still a learning curve for him, there must be some anxiety there to have variation and keep topics going he’s always open about his flaws so it’s hard to fault him

This podcast was so engaging, I caught myself CACKLING at Lex ranting about the evolution of an organism to form an apex. I think in our modern day society podcasts like this come and go, but Lex caught lightning in a bottle with having Paul on.

An absolutely superb interview. This conversation had me glued.

I've been following this gentleman on Instagram for 4 years and always wondered when he will finally have the opportunity to share his story on a big scale like JRE. I'm so glad he finally made it onto this incredible podcast and can't wait to finish listening to it

This was nothing short of inspiring. This man has such a clear, dedication and devotion to the natural world that just gave me such excitement for helping the Earth renew itself.

How I loved this episode. As someone who views the natural world with such a reverence hearing Paul's passion & stories is such a treat. He also has such a imperative message to share about this part of the world & why we need to protect it. Add Lex's engagement, optimism & perspective on what's possible & this has to be one of my all time favourites.

Paul is mesmerizing every time you hear him. Thank you as always, Lex. Best podcast out there!

@@carlamarlene2927 lol…..it was a very compelling interview! Made me change my mind and think about thinks I never had before. I appreciate Joe Reading gab’s podcast for that very reason. All , or most, of his guests are so unique and interesting.He’s a great interviewer as well!

It always shocks me thinking that without that Joe Rogan episode, we wouldn't have had (in my opinion) the most important podcast on the internet. Lex is absolutely fantastic as an interviewer, and Paul is an incredible guest.

I started listening to this just at work just to have on in the back ground. I had to switch it off about 5 minutes in as i wanted to do it justice and listen in my free time with all my attention. What a great interview and stories, thoroughly enjoyed this, thank you 🙏

I almost DIDNT watch this one, and I'm not sure why, perhaps because I had no idea who this gentleman was. Which goes against most everything I love this Podcast for! I have been exposed to so many amazing people and ideas through your show. What a mistake that would have been . . . This is one of THE BEST Podcast sessions on any show, and one of the most amazing conversations I have ever heard. Truly special!

i cant begin to express how important it is to let our children follow their dreams, to trust them in their passions and their process. This amazing man is who he is because his parents let him live his dreams and trusted him enough to know that he knew what he was doing. Bless your parents, what an amazing interview.
