This hands down is the most comprehensive, well explained and complete lecture on everything you need to know about IR, the effects and relationship between high insulin, blood sugar and fat. I also love and appreciate how he extended the explanation to describe insulin impact on the kidney, salt retention and how it affects the BP. Amazing lecture Dr. Mason. 👏👏👏👏👏

I agree completely with your comment, but what I need to know is where to find a doctor in Northern Michigan that would actually do the comprehensive insulin tests. I cant even get my fasting insulin as part of a blood panel. My need is urgent, I'm dealing with the medical industry now., plus I have existing heart disease with stents.

@zamfirtoth6441 it's sad that it's not done and it's the most important test. What I could advise is if you travel to another state or country you can get it done. Results should be within a week from labs. It's still unbelievable that you having trouble getting this test done.

@@zamfirtoth6441if you look at how mankind survived, the ancestral diet is what we should be eating. Lean protein, healthy fats from fish nuts etc... vegetables and the sugar will come from fruits which comes packaged with fibre.

?*? Question: Off-topic (sorry) but - if Vit D Absorption is OK - does that imply absorption of other Fat Soluble Vits (E,A,K) is likely good too? Vit D was OK last year, but considering getting the Test for the others (which will automatically include re-test of Vit D) however, the '4 Vit Test' is expensive, so thinking maybe just Test Vit D again, hopefully as an indicator of all at Fat Soluble Vits?

good question. I'm curious what you mean by OK? With the doctor says it's OK may still be low according to what the doctors here would say. I suggest you go to doctorstotrust.com and search on vitamin D, and also search on vitamin A and K and E. There's quite a few videos, but most of them are very short. You can read through their video descriptions, which is much quicker than watching the video. Generally, you can take very high amounts of vitamin D every week or every two weeks and it will stay in the blood and be beneficial. It is almost impossible to take too much de. If you're eating lots of meat and fish, you should get enough a K. I take D3 and K2 together as supplements and I also get out in the sun every day even in the winter. Vitamin E is a little different, you can check on that. Again, that is very difficult to overdose.

Thanks. Vit D sitting just above 100 (on the UK Scale) so very good. My main reason for question is because I'm wondering if 'good' Vit D 'Absorption' can - kind of - be used to 'imply' that other 'fat soluble' vits are likely being well absorb too (and save me the cost of specifically testing my E,A & K 'Absorption'). My healthy diet will be proving all of them in good measure, it's there 'efficient absorption' I'm seeking to verify.@@doctorstotrust

I suggest you discuss this with her good functional medicine team. One would be insulin iq.com, that has been Beckmans medical team. Another good source on this might be Dr. Elizabeth Bright.
