Paul Heyman is a smart man who knows how to play the political game. It's a chief contributing factor to why someone lasts as long as he has in the wrestling business. He knows that revealing what went on in those behind-the-scenes meetings with Vince McMahon would get him instant heat and probably fired, so until the proverbial "statute of limitations" passes on dishing the dirt, he's not going to do it.

For the most part, Paul Heyman is a genius in wrestling and has an eye for talent. @GoldGravity I mean i completely agree with the sentiment and believe that the downfall of emotional investment in wwe is from letting out too much information. We search for meaning elsewhere leading to a generation that have been brought up with access to everything and the never ending pursuit of new or 'valuable' information for emotional investment. I mean the interview itself delves into the mind of a current wwe exec and asks for new information.

I'm glad Paul brought Vince McMahon's name up. For some reason when it came to the firing of Gallows and Anderson, McMahon skirted most of the blame due to Styles calling Heyman out publicly. I always scratched my head at that, because even if Paul really wanted those two to be gone, it still is up to Vince to sign off on that. I’m not taking either side because I don’t know what really went down and I wasn’t apart of the situation in real life, but I agree with Heyman here on backstage meetings should remain private until maybe later down the road or something because it’s just more professional and kinda keeps the realness or kayfabe alive more for the fans and not ruining their view for a superstar they like and not trying to kill anyone’s fandom for a superstar or something, but AJ is still probably one of the most if not the most professional guys in the WWE and I understand the heat that AJ felt but at the same time I feel like he could’ve handled the situation a little better and Paul probably could’ve too, idk who’s side to take here. Regardless of backstage stuff I’m still a fan and have respect for both of them.

I don’t blame people like Paul or Bruce for not doing so because I get why they have nothing to really gain from doing so. If he owned up to it being his fault it confirms him being shifty or if he hangs it on somebody else then people don’t believe him to look poorly of him for throwing someone under the bus. So I get it that there’s nothing to gain. But I think we all would probably agree that the way he answered this question and smithed the words and the story together for the nonanswer shows us all what people mean when they point to not being able to trust the man. To compare the product from then with what is now being produced is a bit insulting to long time fans. Obviously Styles was a competitive talent in 06 that WWE didnt see value in. To say now WWE as a company has different needs or feelings over Styles is just a joke when his addition to this company this late in his career is a purely obvious attempt to draw fan support off his name alone.

To be fair since AJ left Japan all I have felt is that AJ is a small fish in a big pond, compared to the indy scene he was big fish little pond. There's no money to be made in WWE from himb

AJ has definitely been booked like a star since coming to WWE. He's a two-time world champ, main evented PPVs, and has the honour of being Taker's last opponent. He's one of their top guys for sure.
