as the one who used to put these little events together during my time in ECW, let me say this is one of the greatest stories I ever heard and this helped made these weekends the legends that they are. True or not, its wrestling, its Paul Heyman. Take it for what you will. Actually when Paul says " calls me a liar" at the 6:16 mark is me getting up from the table, about 14 years and 60 lbs ago.

It's 11 years later so you'll probably never see this, but I was there that weekend. Friday night was a bus trip to I want to say the LuLu Temple, Saturday afternoon was the convention at the hotel, then the Arena that night. It was a great time to be a wrestling fan, especially if you were on Prodigy. Thanks for everything you did for ECW

I've seen clips of this Q&A over the years, anyone got the whole thing? Oh, and if anyone has any Ole anderson shoots, please help us out. I feel it's the biggest problem on the net today, more so than identity fraud, stalibgk ect. not enough Ole Anderson shoots.

I was fortunate enough to have watched Paul E's run in Memphis in real time. Tommy Rich is a legend, and Austin Idol didn't need a mouthpiece, being one of the great promo guys of all time, but having this brash, obnoxious and funny "kid" playing the Bobby Davis role to Austin's Buddy Rogers was great TV. He was great at getting heat from the beginning. Maybe a lot of that came from natural talent but Paul being a huge student of the business may have played a bigger role in his early success. There were some good managers who followed Jimmy Hart but all paled to Paul and made them, in retrospect, look like benchwarmers. It's just too bad that Paul didn't have a multi-year run like Hart, because he could have done great at it. Memphis fans hated HATED heels from the northeast, go back and see the reactions Kevin Sullivan got during 1980-1981 as proof. Having the gift of gab and being a risk taker just added to the package. I wish the wrestling business would allow this kind of thing to flourish nowadays, but...well, we all see what's out there nowadays. Yech.

His impression of an outraged Jerry Jarrett was hysterically funny. The flack Paul Heyman took on his Memphis Wrestling debut as a manager just because he said the word "lesbian" on television. Oh well. At least it drew an audience in the studio and Mid South Coliseum, didn't it?

If it aired, it was only seen on the Memphis edition and most of the surviving episodes were recorded from the Evansville, Indiana or Louisville, Kentucky versions. I grew up watching the edited Louisville version and missed out on promos like this.
