It’s amazing to see how Paul has matured with his playing and style. He’s gone very bluesy but can still shred like the old days and as good as anyone

You know, with easy-access lessons from KZread, etc., it’s become ever-more common to hear guitarists who have “connected the dots” and can shred, but whenever you listen to a true master like Paul, it becomes very clear the difference. Gilbert has forgotten more about shred than most will ever truly learn. His musicianship, knowledge and expertise is second to none.

Paul Gilbert and Jeff Beck are two of my favorite guitarists, because they're always exploring and always creating. They never rest on what they've accomplished in the past. They're such an inspiration to me. It makes me want to follow in the footsteps of the great masters of rock.

Nobody can play like Paul Gilbert. There are plenty of great guitarists out there, but there is only one Paul Gilbert. Years ago he got the label of being a shredder, and he is a shredder. But here's the thing- he is so much more than just a shredder. He is an awesome rhythm guitarist and he is a master of various styles of music, and that's what makes him so great. (Oh, and he is a superb teacher, too!)

Amazing player and person. At G4 he was letting us come up on stage and trade lix over a looper during class. It felt like jammin with a friend. Excellent teacher too. He made himself available quite a bit too hanging out after the classes during his free time. Super experience for us all that were blessed to attend.

Never have I seen fingers move with such fluid succession...not Vai, not Eddie, not even Yngwie....like pistons in an engine at a slow idle or at revving max. The other side of his coin is that he's such a gracious dude despite living the famous life. Like I always taught my students; "I don't care how great you become as a guitarist, I expect you to be just as great a person." Mega respect, admiration & love to performers like Paul Gilbert. - a retired performing unknown.

I have seen many talented guitarists live. Tony Iommi, Ritchie Blackmore, Gary Moore, Randy Rhoads, Tom Morello, Bucketheat, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani but Paul Gilbert is the one I remember as just being so obviously excited by the joy of playing guitar. His obvious enthusiasm for his craft and for his instrument was so infectious.

Mr. Guitar! He is the most serious player ever to play. Eats,Breaths, and Sleeps guitar! He pays the price for being so awesome. Ask him a simple question. Like what car is the best looking. Or what is your fav. book? Just about every answer will come from his childhood. That is when guitar took over his life. Before guitar was the normal child. After guitar all other things pretty much stopped.

It's awesome to see how he's still doing his thing after all these years and playing music that HE wants to play. Paul could have sold out at any moment in his life since he was a teen but he never did. You could probably build a house with the contracts he's turned down. *an assumption What a great human being is Paul Gilbert.

I get interested in phases of ideas, so my teachers come and go. There was a Gilbert solo (bare chested, skinny, long-haired), I used to teach guitar students about repetition. What I really like is, he keeps learning. Like Beck and McLaughlin, every few years it's something else. So, he and Mike Stern are my new teachers (again). It's right there in your lap. 7:01 to 7:20 explains the Meaning of Life!

2nd comment. Paul Gilbert is the most amazing guitar player I've ever seen. He's like the Chet Atkins of rock. That's saying a lot. I don't like using the term "best", because it can send the wrong message but Paul is a musical and guitar genius. Over the last 2 years or so, he has become one of my favorites and I wish him all happiness and success.

If you see one around, try talking to them. Maybe they will tell you who he is. I'll bet that Paul Gilbert knows who he is....... But I have no interest in educating you so your out of luck. Again.

My God. Paul asks," you want everything?" Let me give you a powerpoint presentation of every shredder dream imaginable. I'll break it down, Throw delay and repeat loop to punch the points home. Are you learning anything? Just spellbound? I'm not done. People say he's matured but what if he's just slowed down enough out of kindness to let the layman understand. Everything has always been at his ridiculously stretched fingertips. He's a teacher first and foremost. This is God Tier Guitar tutoring to shred.
