I never noticed how gifted of a pianist Patty’s husband Walter Weschler was until now. A very elaborate arrangement.
Patty was always the best show lady of the sisters. I'm glad to have lived while she did.
She’s got so much energy and a bubbly, fun personality. I wish I was around in her time.

They’ll never be another set of Andrew sisters again. This is so iconic, I miss all the songs I miss the movies, the comedies with Abbott and Costello. Nothing like the good old days if you’ve never watched a movie before that it’s new to you whether it’s in black-and-white or color if it’s a classic, it’s a classic just watch it you’ll discover a whole New World of what movies were really made of. God bless you, Patty, may your soul and the souls of the faithful departed to the mercy of God rest in peace.

Why is the audience so quiet on this? Patty Andrews was and is a star!! The Andrews' Sisters sound was an amazing blend of cultural influences, charisma and pure talent. The precision and energy of their harmony was electrifying. A real phenomenon. I came to The Andrews Sisters later. I was aware of them. I had heard of them from the dim, distant past, and then one day... I was driving in my car and a song came on the radio. I didn't know who it was. But the sound and energy of the voices was arresting. As I listened I thought, "Wow, whoever this group is is they have taken the concept of the Andrews Sisters and really lifted it to a whole new level." When the presenter back announced the track I learned... It was the Andrews Sisters!! Enough said!!

You invite a big band legend to your show and what do you make her sing? A song from Brigadoon with a bit of On a Clear Day, two of the worst musicals ever. That sucks big time.
@aeichler

That was her choice, from her nightclub act.

Alan Eichler Alan Eichler You are absolutely right but then why introduce her as a member of the Andrews Sisters and make all the interview about that? She was the one who sang the melody in the sisters’ hits. That would have been easy for her to sing a one of those songs we all love. She was never big as a solo act. That is not what made her famous. Anyway, I enjoyed the interview segment. Thank you for posting it.

zzzut...I do not think anyone made her sing Almost Like Being in Love, On A Clear Day, Hello Young Lovers, etc..medley. I am sure she and her husband and Merv and producers all collaborated. Brigadoon was a very popular and successful Broadway show in 1947. It was the 1954 MGM film of Brigadoon which was not the most (anticipated) success. As far as On A Clear Day is concerned, I don't know how successful the show and film were. Streisand was in the film, and I am sure it generated some revenue. I love the song Almost Like Being in Love.

"almost like being in love" -this song doesn't sound right for her and her voice. This was one of Judy Garland's greatest hits she sang at hundreds of her concerts and on TV several times. Judy's performance was always electrifying and mesmerising. I think this is what Miss Andrews was trying to accomplish but this was a bomb. She and Karen carpenter I think sang the best versions of 'I can dream can't I?" She really should have sung that.🤔
