Always knew of the song, Cynthia, but don't recall if I had heard the Patti version. Great rendition. Thanks to Wesley Morris for his thoughtful words, and for pointing us to this amazing performance by one of the all time greats.

What a performance 100%. with her singing style, probably it is hard for backup singers to keep up the tempo.

i feel like patty is afro-futurism -soul-gospel. she has to have the most powerful voice of all time. absolutely hands down. and her ad-libs and effortless performance. to witness her is a religious experience.

42 "thumbs down" on this? Really? Check yourselves, people. The 42 of you (as of 4 June, 2020) obviously need some musical education - or a hearing test! Patti slays in this video, has the audience eating out of her hands, and never EVER fails to deliver the goods. SO GREAT!

: it does NOT get any better than this! the way ms. patti ends that first chorus! and that epid shoe fling...AND the prancing that follows. vocal dynamics that no one else has every displayed. oh my lord.
