I rode by this hotel a month ago or so. The outside led me to believe it would be a luxury hotel. It is not a luxury hotel but the inside looked nice and location is excellent. I would stay here short term because it's new but you can get better value in Pattaya. Thanks for the review Loucous. I've been curious about this hotel.

Nice preview I’m staying on the 18th floor of The Base and my balcony faces Somerset. Love the area easy access to everything

Seems nice...I have walked by.. Been staying at the Edge condo just down the road...very new, great lounge, infinity pool, sauna, etc. Studio a bit small like most things in Thailand but affordable on Airbnb or some property managers.

lvl 23 is defo the 'WOW' factor. Amazing view of Pattaya.

In September I paid $28 a night at the 5☆ GRAND PALAZZO, fantastic everything in walking distance very happy.

I would book into this hotel no problem

Hi Lucius & Vee great Vlog as usual I quite like the new hotel very good location on 2nd road opposite the Central Plaza & Hilton I usually stay there. The room was nice and big bed I know it’s brand new but I think for the location the price was good and plenty free parking for guests as I usually drive when I am in Thailand might try it next time I am in town I like things to be central. Keep up the great work Cheers Irish Paul

Looks good, definitely for the business or short term tourist trafficing through town... Not aiming for hiso tourists/visitors (maybe, as we havent seen their best rooms yet... lol)... Cheaper is available, but serviceable for temporary foreign visitors at that price range... AND across the street from Central, so very handy... Thanks for the review, Cheers...

Nice looking hotel. To be honest I'd prefer to stay in an established hotel that's been going for a while. Or an apartment or villa. Brand new and shiney often means lacking character and no vibe. Great video as always Loucas 👍✌️🙏

Nice review of this new hotel which looks classy n as u say not over the top styled. Room is typically normal but balcony disappointing. Wi-Fi speeds are great. Was impressed with the rooftop pool n water park as nice designed layout and great views from up there. Most ppl visiting Patts will be budget tourists so will see how the prices go as looks like a 4 star hotel.🤔😉😎

Hey Lucas, how are you? That was a nice hotel at a reasonable rate, I think. Your meal on the other hand... Where's Vee? Has she recovered and is she okay? I'm so used to seeing her with you. Thank you for sharing the great information and take care of yourselves.

Lucas I would be interested to learn about any good locations in Pattaya or Jomtien you would suggest to celebrate Loy Krathong

Checking wifi speed ok but also check if they have website blocking restrictions.

Sounds like a very soft opening and maybe there will be drinks in the refrigerator once the restaurant/bar opens. As you say, basic! You say Holiday Inn Express! Wonder if the upgraded ones are more luxurious with more amenities. Love the food options at Central Plaza

I agree. The hotel appears to be similar to Holiday Inn Express or La Quinta Inn. $68/Night is still a great price. Location/View amazing. Maybe after the full amenities are up and running, the overall attraction of the hotel will come to light.

Not like a Holiday Inn Express in Europe. The ones I've stayed in Europe have electric heaters on the wall that you manually Control. Either too hot or too cold and I've never found had a robe and slippers in a closet with wooden hangers.

@@prontsc Most Holiday Inn Expresses are pretty basic, but there are two in Thailand with swimming pools: Pattaya and Phuket. Both have decent air conditioning and decent breakfasts too.

"Bit harsh" 😆 to compare it to a Holiday Inn Express.

Once again you’re the Ace reporter first on the scene to check these places out. Well done! I may end up switching to this place when the on line booking opens depending on price. They may raise the prices once the restaurant and amenities are all open. We’ll see soon.

I’m pretty happy staying at the Blue Sky Pattaya on soi 5 at 900 baht a night, not including breakfast.

Infinity pool and view looks good…not sure about the Pirate ship

I can understand putting a door where the toilet is for privacy..... But I can't understand making it a clear glass door..... That completely spoils the purpose of the door.

Hilton has one big sliding door for shower and toilet with no lock...so if you either shower or poo....and if someone else is using the shower....then you have to fight for the sliding door.. At least this hotel has two separate doors....but clear glass very 1940s barracks toilets and showers.

Looks nice enough, but my experience with Somerset is that they often end up quite expensive, 5 star prices but 4 star service and facilities. And nit particularly cool or exciting. Given the location I think this will be very popular and the pricing will reflect that, but there will be much better value elsewhere.

The room has exact layout to centre point pattaya standard room even down to the couch. I would say it's slightly less fancy. Eg no electronic toilet.

Comparing this to Space... I'd love to go to Space as a one off experience because it's bonkers and I love the theme, but this hotel looks like one us Brits/Europeans would return to, we're not big fans of gaudy, faux-luxury decor. I love the craziness of the Riviera properties for example, but after a week or two I'd be rolling my eyes.

Not compare the prices from the USA to the rest of the world. In Thailand and many other countries you can get the same standard for the half of this price.

I've just ridden down from Chiang Mai to Bangkok today and head to Pattaya tomorrow. On the way down I had a fault code come up. Can you recommend anyone in Pattaya who could look at it. It's a 650 V Strom.

Yes I see 3 Soi dogs outside entrance every night I cross the road to keep away from them. ..as I don’t want to have to go to the hospital

Current rate per night for standard room is $147 USD. / $220 AUD. This hotel is definitely not comparable to the Holiday Inn express which is around 1/3 of the price. Looks good overall. Room, pool but that kids area shows that the market they are targeting. Lost opportunity for a second infinity pool like the Siam Siam. Definitely not for the 80thb beer crew.

Hot tip! NEVER use the kettles in a Hotel room. The Chinese tend to use them to boil their dirty underwear to wash them.

Unless you are installing a server farm and datacenter in your hotel room you should be OK with that internet speed.

Big thank you for yet another good review Lucas. This one is not my cup of tea though. Like all 4/5* hotels they always have small fridges. Not a problem if you just want to put cold drinks in them. But on the od-occasion I go to Pattaya I always buy food to take back up north where I live. The highlight was the crispy Pork in C/F looked delish.
