I found the soapy massage ladies to be rather cold and impersonal in my experience so I avoid those places. Two weeks ago on my last trip, I went into the VIP massage in the location further down Buakhao (closer to the market near South Pattaya Road). They have some nice looking ladies in there and actually got a 2 for 1 deal as the more experienced lady used me to teach a younger lady how to go about giving an oil massage. My first 4-hand massage 👍👍

Risa massage in Soi Buakhao is very good for a legitimate massage. Had a foot massage and Thai massage in there with lady called Mew, both were excellent. Definitely recommend

I rejected once an older lady working with a younger woman, as she said the younger women could not speak English which I thought was stupid excuse at the time. Maybe, I should have accepted.

As someone who suffers from joint and muscle pain after a lifetime working in the construction industry a soothing 'legit' massage trumps a 'happy ending' every time. It also loosens me up for the real thing later in the day. 😁

I've had a couple of oil massages recently in South Pattaya. I find it's not hard to indicate to them that you might be interested. In one of the massages the lady made sure I was happy without even discussing a price - I gave her a nice bonus - in the other the lady didn't add any extras but at the end of the massage she let me know that it was closing time, and that she would be happy to come back to my condo with me. I didn't take her up on the offer because I had a really early start the next morning, but I might go back. In both cases the massages were quite good. Interestingly, in light of Trev's comment that they start at the neck and shoulders and work down, in both cases they started at the feet and worked up.

I just got back from a trip to Pattaya, I recommend Poona massage which was at the beginning of the video on the left hand side of Soi Baukhao, I had a legit massage in there every day of my stay and all the ladies there are trained and have a great attitude. If your looking for a massage without the happy ending and a massage that leaves you feeling like a new man/woman get yourself in there.

Buzz is spot on when he says current rate is 1000 baht all in , but if I could add a word to the wise for all the novices , when they grab your junk and ask you if “ you want “ make sure you ask “ how much “ because if you don’t they can charge you anything they want when it’s over , and furthermore ask them if that’s the total price for the massage and the wrist rocket , don’t make the mistake I made the other day here in Phuket , I’m a salty old veteran and of course I asked how much,.. and when she said “ 1000 “ ( like a rookie ) only one word came out of my mouth … “ Ok “ , after the deed was done and I was up and dressed and forking over the 1000 she kept her hand out and said “ 400 more for massage “ ( She got me ) !

Good point about respect when getting a massage, was getting a foot massage in soi Diana a couple of weeks ago when 4 Chinese came in talking very loudly the boss told them to be quiet then another 1 of their group came in with their phone held out presumably with a face time call with a girl in the first group which she then proceeded to virtually shout at the phone when the boss got up and told them to get out in no uncertain terms and told them they would not get a massage in her shop.

Yellow Massage at the Beach Road end of Soi 6/1 is great for a traditional massage. Soi Honey, Soi Buakhao, and Soi Pothole have the other areas covered. 😎Worst noise infraction was a bunch of Indian guys came into Yellow Massage and I guess one of them was trying to be the big boss. He was talking loudly on his phone, shouting at the other guys, it was horrible. I had enough and made to leave but the massage lady said to stay and the other massage ladies quickly told the Indian guy he needed to quiet down or leave. A good massage but still ruined because of someone's ego. Cheers and thanks for another great video!

Many years ago I fell over at work and twisted my ankle about 1 week before I was due to come to Pattaya. As I went down I heard a cracking sound and I thought I'd broke it. After a trip to a&e I was told it was OK just brused and very swollen. I hobbled onto the plane and got myself to Pattaya. I'd already had many special massages in Pattaya before but all I wanted was a real foot massage. I hobbled down soi baukaw and all I got offered was oil massage Mr. All I wanted was someone to take care of my foot !! Eventually found a good place on second road but can't remember the name

Hi Trev, love the Vid man. Thai massage certainly is a mixed bag. My last trip up, which was a few years ago now was to Khao Lak. Part of the Resort deal included a number of massages for both me and the Missus, which were administered by a lovely, older married lady on the Resort beach. First couple of massages were nice, relaxing events, however on the 3rd or 4th day the missus lined up for hers first and when finished she went of for a swim, or something. I climbed up on the table, belly down and the lady started, as you said, head first, shoulders, back, butt, legs, sack, followed by a little maneuvering around and ended with a HJ, right there on a busy resort beach. Couldn't believe my luck. Bloody big storm came in the next day and hung around for the remainder of our holiday, so never got to experience any followup. A massage can take place any where, anytime, obviously, in Thailand.

Best Proper massage I ever had in Pattaya was at the Thai Blind Massage Institute. It used to be off the left of Pattaya/Naklua Road, going towards Naklua, in Naklua Alley 16. I'm not sure if it's still there or might have moved. It's a proper no hanky panky massage and wow do you come away feeling like you've been stretched, twisted and pummelled. Almost all the people are totally blind, there are both young women and young men, I think it was like a training college for blind people. Trev... If you can find out if it's still going and you want a real massage, it's worth a try

This vlog brings back a lot of memories. Pattaya comes across as the wild west where it's easier to find THAT kind of special massage than the strictly therapeutic kind, and where some of the places don't even want to waste their time with the hard work of therapeutic. That's the main problem, hilariously, finding legit massage. Back in the day when go go bars were the thing, masseuses often said "not that kind place, go bar". In America it's like this. One hour massage places are just for happy endings at the very end. They are hybrid and defend their dignity by being completely mechanical. If the practitioner scowls and says an hour is too long, that's an indication of full swrvice. If they offer hot stones and aroma therapy and recommend two hours, it's so legit you'll be accused of harassment if you try to pat their hind quarters. In Bangkok, in at least one central area, the tea money payments vary on the style of place, ranging from massage only to intermediate to fs. So shop owner's make their decision based on the burden of extra tea money vs the masseuse splitting part of her tip. The nuances of shops and what's on offer is confusing or fun, depending on your tolerance for inscrutable levels of dignity and face. One girl told me once she had a customer she liked but he tried to do it there instead of inviting her back to his room, which spoiled it for her because it wasn't a fs shop, and so she just said no. I asked her if she suggested after work and no she didn't - face. When I, on the other hand, tried to be the right kind of guy at a follow on encounter of my own at a different spot, my masseuse said "no time, do here." It had nothing to do with dating for pay vs dating and everything to do with the matrix of shop style, tea money, face in front of her friends, length of shift - our age, appearance, smell. If you are young, tall, and good looking they will give you a different experience than old, stinky, and rude. They take great happiness in gutting and keel hauling you financially if they consider you to be below their usual profile in quality (this is during the luxe age pre COVID). So Honey is degenerate. It takes all of the challenge away. Except the challenge of at least getting a sinsusal rubdown.

ALWAYS shower first. It's just the decent thing to do. The ladies don't want to touch someone who's sweaty and stinky, which you are, because Thailand is hot. IT doesn't necessarily mean extras are coming. Don't wait to be told, but if you DO wait to be told, and they ask if you want to shower, your answer is "yes."

I’ve been to Pattaya a few times now and I would definitely say if you’re looking for a HE massage, then Soi Honey is a great starting point. Don’t really rate soapy massages, very expensive 3000 baht plus.. impersonal, covered everything, devoid of emotion. You could get three messages in any other massage salon for that sort of price and come out with a happier…… great video, very informative 👍

For those who haven't experienced the wonders of professional Thai Massage, generally for an average of just 200 baht, $6 dollars!!! You'll get an incredable deep tissue massage for an hour that will relieve all your pain and guarantee your happy return. My favorite is 'Siam Massage', on the turn off street from the south end of Pattaya beach road. Real, high quality experience, no boom boom (plenty of those). Professional, nice atmosphere and they won't attempt to jack up the price. But be considerate enough to leave a tip. These girls work very hard for such a small money return.

In Bangkok you can get massages at the Temple's school of massage run by monks. Blind masseurs are often employed there at much more reasonable rates.

I lived in Thailand for a few years. I had a traditional Thai massage where a 75 pound Thai woman twisted me up like a pretzel and would never do that again. I also had a more regular massage once with oil and it was nice...no happy ending as that is not what I was looking for. Then there were foot massages, that I would get a least once a week and they were always fantastic due to the amount of walking I always did. Throughout my entire time in Thailand, I never hooked up with a massage lady.

great vid trev - good topic - i have a funny massage story = my first time in thailand - i knew about massages and massage places from videos - one tip i heard was " legit" massage places - the ladies will all wear the same uniform - and happy massage places the ladies wear different clothes or thier street clothes etc - well i later found out this was only for pattaya not bangkok 5555 - so myself and a friend go for a massage - the ladies all have the same uniform on so i think its a legit place and decide to try - i have also heard that if you want a good massage pick an older lady as they are experienced and can give very good massage and the young ones are eye candy and cant rub worth a crap 5555 - we are greeted at the door outside by the group of ladies and ask about oil massage as i always get this one and the price is acceptable so lets go - an older lady that had engaged me when i came and asked questions than led me into the shop - i thought legit places the next one in line goes and happy places you get to pick - so i was feeling at ease - we go upstairs to the massage area - and the massage rooms look like walmart changing rooms that have the thinest walls between them and curtains for " privacy " - massage begins and at first it is pretty good for about 15 mins - than right next to me i hear my friend - hahaha 555 - his girl starts touching him and kissing him and i can hear everything - she propositions the oral massage amd he goes for it - at this point im pooping my pants - thinking oh no i hope this older lady who i picked wjo is on the heavier side and not very attractive doesnt touch hendrix and proposition me for the same thing ( at least my buddy had a younger one in her mid to late 30s ad was slim and cute ) ( mine was def in her 50s ) - well to my horror she does - and i politely deciine and say i only interested in massage thank you - this is around the 30 min mark of the hour massage - i can also hear that buddy's massage next door has progressed to full on happy massage - she says your buddy is going for it you should too ( and im thinking to myself = if i had known that this was that type of place do you think i would have selected or gone with a 50 plus year old = hell no id have the shitty massage for the 24 year old stunner ) - so again i say no just the massage thank you - and she starts talking loudly in thai to her friend who is inches away through a plank of wood and no roof saying he wont do it he no want etc - and meanwhile she has stopped rubbing me and complaining loudly in thai - this continues for about 5 mins - im about 35 mins into the worst massage i have ever had and she abruptly ends the massage and leaves the room not to return - i go use the bathroom - and wait for my friend to finish his massage as i sit downstairs in the main lobby area waiting for him in the most awkward 10 or 15 mins i have ever had - at this point i havent paid and the lady who massaged me isnt around but she is still complaining in a back room = to save face = cheap charlie 55555 - i remain quiet - my friend shows up - and as we are paying he says should we give a tip and i say loudly so all can hear HELL NO - paid my 200 baht and left 555555

We'd normally stay at the Royal Gardens/Marriott/Avani. So it was get to the room, shower off the 12 hour sortie, then across 2nd Road to Golden Fingers. Not a huge fan of oil massage, so would most often do a foot & leg, along with a neck & shoulder massage. 90% of the time I, and any number of the crew, would be out cold in those loungers 5 minutes in 😆👍🏼👍🏼

This is a great vid, T. Far more informative than usual. Would you believe it, bloke, I had a soapy with happy end on Walking street once for TB200. That was way back in '98 during my first visit to Patters - but I first visited Thai in '81 - and it was great. I doubt if you can get it at that price anymore. (In fact I know you can't). Thai massages are worth experiencing in all their varieties, foot, traditional, oil, and with or without happy endings. But a warning to newbies, it's genuinely hard not to get aroused during one of these, irrespective of the beauty of the masseuse. Some of the plain-looking girls have got magical fingers.

The legit massage I had in Thailand was always with the blindmans massage. They have both male and female masseuses. You always wear traditional Thai pajamas. These masseuse are fantastic. But because they are really blind, they know how to assess your body via their hands. They will cause you pain to get the knots out but so worth it later on. Plus you assist them with finances. So, it's a real win, win situation. I believe there is one in Jomtien. My experience with the soapy's, it just depends on the masseuse. You either get lucky and find one that enjoys giving the massage or you get one that is tired of it. Luck of the draw. The fun is the hunt...he he Stay safe and healthy M8!

Amon is my favorite Happy Massage. My favorite Legit Massage is the one by the former Robins Nest. I don’t like Soapy Massage’s. I don’t like foot massages. I wish I could remember the Massage place on 2nd rd for legit but I can’t remember at this time.

@@Buzzinpattaya I think you where on 2nd rd and covered the massage place I like. They even do pedicures and manicures cheap like 6 bucks. I went to it 3 years in a row and they remembered me each time. Nice girls and good at what they do. I coming back next spring the first time since 2019.

I have been in Pattaya for a few months, some places I have said I only want a massage, no special, I have been told, “can not, you have to have special. Out of a hundred plus massages this trip, only two have not asked about special. I only ever have a massage with a lady that makes eye contact. Same with bars, lady has to make eye contact with me, before I buy lady a drink.

15 years ago you could go to a Soapy massage in Pattaya and pick a cute 20-something for a reasonable price, and she would work hard to make you very happy. Now it is expensive, the girls are older and average looking (at best), and the girls just go through the motions. Bangkok is better than Pattaya for Soapies these days.

100% Agree, bangkok has the hottest girls when it comes to mongering and soapies. Not to mention they have some pretty wild BJ bars too. Pattaya has ovverated issan garbage and old forgotten warrior ladies. However, pattaya is much cheaper to get laid more often and for longer periods of time than bangkok.

I find a foot massage & foot scrub essential when I arrive in Thailand. Normally just head to the beach and get one there. I also sometimes go to Let’s Relax which has chains all over Thailand. Bit more expensive but the massage is professional and normally spot on. Also often stay in the Amber hotel which is opposite PP so May have to visit 😜

I started doing the same. Just start at the beach with a foot scrub and pedicure. It's heavenly! Since I walk a lot I also take a lot of foot massage. I'm always happy when I leave 😅

Only had a soapy once, it was pretty amazing but for me a once in a lifetime massage. Now I'm older I'd rather have a proper massage as my wife wouldn't be happy so go for one where they have uniforms on. Usually a good indication of what you will get. Get yourself sorted so you can raise an eyebrow it's important.

My favourite is a foot (lower leg) massage. 200 baht, next door to Vipers. Personally I don't mind whether it's a lady or a man. For legit TBMI (Thailand Blind Massage Institute). Also here in Jomtien. Weird being pummelled to death by someone who can't see. 270 I think. Cost I take a 1,000 note for an oil massage. But that includes a happy ending bonus. My partner works in a massage shop, but I never get one. Charges me 2,000 baht for the full monty. That's love for you.

I do like a good foot massage every now and again. Now I'm not generalising, but a few times when I have been enjoying a foot massage it has been ruined by guys on their phone. They were always Arab and they really didn't care a jot how loud they are whilst others are around having a massage.
