I am 67 years old Patsy Cline was one of the best singers

Does anyone ever wonder why we are still listening to Patsy? It's been 57 years since she was taken from us, and she was a star for many years before that. It's because she was a star, her music was music for the ages. Patsy will never grow old, her music will never grow old and fade away. So many of the so called stars today will never be able to say that. Patsy was a one of a kind and once you hear her, she is with you forever after. We are so fortunate that we still have her music, and we always will.

Perfectly said! I'm quite confident she would have had a decades long career with that stunning voice, but she is forever captured in that perfect bubble. Like Marilyn, and so many others taken before their time. The mystique around Patsy will be around forever I suppose.

I am a 67 year old African American woman whose Mama played Patsy Cline every Saturday evening. Grew up loving the soul Patsy had inside. Found a CD of her greatest hits 3 years ago. Play it all of the time, blasting it in my car! Music like hers never fade, never will.

Bless your heart. Im a 65 yr old white woman and i have a love of Africqn American voices with soulful beats, and a derp love for Luther Vandross. But those beautiful southern Baptist voices on Sundays of those church ladies that could sing pike nobodys business. I loved in South Carolina for a while and a whitewashed wooden church stood practically in my back yard. Well let me tell you, i thought that church was gonna fall apart from the clapping and stomping! But i got as close as my yard would allow me to listen to that southern Baptist sound from the most beautiul ladies wit glorious voices and decked out in the most gorgeous outfits with their Sunday hats. See, we can love one another, embrace and share our cultures and traditions. Dont ever let race interfere with you expanding on the diversity that sometimes comes your way people! Dont sweat the border! Im down for Mexican music and Chili Rellenos and a Mariachi band can play for me any ol time! We get one shot at this thing called life. Embrace it, laugh and have a blast! It moves fast and before you know it you're too old to do ANYTHING! Live your lives in harmony!

I was born here in the States but was raised in Poland by my Aunt who is married to an East Indian and I do speak English Fluently though I have an accent not so sure if you really like it but most people do. I have never considered Patsy a country singer. That's just a category she was put in. When she sang in nightclubs she sang pop and loved all kinds of music. She even introduced Loretta Lynn to Etta James etc.

Patsy was one in ten million. What a talent. There will never be another like her.

I'm almost 84 years old and I have adored Patsy Cline since I was teen. She is the greatest female singer ever born and we are so lucky to have her music.

This is NOT an easy song to sing, and esp the way Patsy sung it, but she made it appear so e a s y and smooth. This movie was great, and Jessica did a great job of portraying Patsy!

Jessica did a fantastic job with the crappy material she had to work with. I'm so glad she did lip syncing in the movie. She has said that was her favorite role and I believe she was pregnant while filming it

The real eerie thing was I.dont know how she knew.but 3 or four times she said. Don't worry I won't be here long. 2 weeks after she said this .she died very violently in a plane crash .but the exact site where she died was set up as a memoriam whst a nice thing to do

Emotion, yes. It seems to me that she was so skilled at singing that it was almost like talking, with all the prosodic subtleties of speech, but in song instead. Rhythm, inflection, timing, intonation... Not just producing melodies, but also telling the listener something for us to pick up "between the lines" as we do in intent conversation.

By that quirky little criterion of yours, no one should ever play a gifted vocalist in a biopic, since no one but Patsy herself could ever sound like Patsy Cline. The film makers were right to decide to use Patsy's own voice. Nothing else would have worked nearly as well. Also, you are confused regarding awards.Oscars are awarded to actors or actresses for their ability to convincingly play *someone else*. Grammys are awarded to vocalists singing as themselves. Comparing the two types of performing is like apples and oranges. Educate your pompous self before opining.

Jessica definitely captured the essence of Patsy Cline in this movie.

One of the great singers of all time.

I'm 72 and have been listening to Patsy since1960 or so. I love her. However I don't just live in the past. There are dozens of equally talented singers that I've heard and loved and I find more every year. No one singer is untouchable or the 'best', there are 'favorites' - personal bests - for everyone. Spread your musical wings and ears.

rose ison back in the late 50s and 60's the am radio stations played this music until they became country and western and had their own stations so we got schooled on don Gibson Willie Nelson etc and loved this brand of music and was aware of her death and being exposed to yet another form of music to go Motown folk rock Doo wop etc Patsy was one of one

They are in love, Kennedy is in the WH, & Santa still comes in December. Life was good, & I still love her music. Classics stay classics & we will never have another PC. RIP, dear woman.

From the first note, the strings just carry me away.. then her voice takes you to places that no one else can! My Favorite Patsy Cline song. Hands down!

She's never been replaced in C&W genre by any other female singer....Terrific voice......nothing else need be said...........

My Mom looked like her too. My Mom was from Arkansas and she would listen to her every Sunday while she worked around our house. I remember the plane accident and we all mourned for weeks including my Mom who would cry for years every time she heard anything Patsy would sing.

2024….Patsy still remembered! Looking at her picture on my fireplace now! Bought it in Nashville signed by her daughter Julie Fudge! I have her portrait framed! My daughter and I took a trip to Nashville just to go to her museum. Cherish those memories!

Pasty was phenomenal! Best female country singer EVER. Jessica was smokin' HOT in her prime...a truly beautiful woman and a good actress. Loved her in everything I've ever seen her in. Pasty left us entirely too soon...without giving us all the great things she undoubtedly would have otherwise. Love you, Patsy Cline! Love you, Jessica Lange!

Cringe when I think of the violence of her end.

This number from the movie was memorizing . The orchestra , her flawless tone, Carnegie Hall , and that white dress really made you realize what kind of a star Patsy really was . Patsy was one of the greatest female singers of our time , and arguably probably the greatest country singer that ever lived . The joy she has brought to my life and so many other millions is truly immeasurable . Thanks Patsy ! Your determination to record so much from 1960 to 1963 has brought a terrific musical legacy for all of future generations to enjoy . You simply were the greatest and we owe you so much for sharing your one in a million voice with all of us .❤️

+kingbushwickthe33rd I still find it hard to believe this song never went to #1. It got as high as #5 on the country charts and #44 on the Billboard Hot 100. The lady had so much more to give, she was really just getting started. The first lady to join The Grand Old Opry. She asked to join and they said yes. It had never happened before and still has not been done since. Only 2 #1 songs at the time of her passing, "I fall to pieces" and 'She's got you" The country lost a true national treasure. My 52 year old heart still weeps.

I grew up listening to Patsy Cline! My mother loved country music and always played on the radio. Patsy Cline is/ was one of my favorite country singers. Many don’t know her songs were often sung by pageant contestants!!

I have been listening to Patsy Cline for more than 40 years, and this song still speaks to me and gives me goosebumps. Gorgeous.

Hands down, Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash are without a doubt the greatest voices ever (thus far) in Country music.

She was an awesome singer. And Jessica Lange did a great job portraying her in the movie. Sweet Dreams.

God had blessed Patsy's talents, sadly, only she had been ended short time. But God had never failed her to let her opened her eyes and to heal her wounded heart to face the cruel world and she was able to dealing with the human natures. Though she went somewhere else for God's assignment, but her music was still here in this earth.

We wrote songs from Pasty Cline for a long time, It’s too bad we lost her at a Young age, she’s a beautiful and talented woman and never be forgotten. We’ll miss you, Pasty, God bless.

The first female that joined the Grand Old Opry. She asked to join and they said yes. It had never happened before and it still has not to this day. What a national treasure she is to the country. Just like Elvis, 100 years from now people will be listening to her music.
